Does Daedalus want to advance his status? Does he have a strong professional drive, and does he think that he can be promoted in this city? Would he want that to happen?

He doesn't have as strong a professional drive as say- Raul Creed, he doesn't have that kind of alpha male claw-to-the-top disposition. Mostly because he's just intelligent, expectations were made very clear from fairly early, and has been pretty much been handed most materials and status and accepted them diligently. His ambitions don't usually get aggressive in terms of personality. He's more about self-control and surreptitious action/info analysis.

That said, he recognizes the huge drawbacks of being at the bottom of the heap, socially. He's hugely stressed by clinic work and would like a position a little more comfortable, with a bit more respect, with less sheer volume of people and noise to deal with daily. He'd like a quieter office or a well maintained lab setting. He misses his great big office with his great big holographic display monitors, and his faithful bunch of autoreiv personel. He really does. Lower level medical positions here are very overstimulating.

He takes a lot of pride in his professionalism, he never appears in canon OUTSIDE of his doctor's coat (except in a very wacky dream sequence where he's Re-l's little brother DONT ASK, ITS MINDSCREW). So he probably feels, if not for the stigma of being a newcomer, that it's only natural that he'll progress sooner or later, once someone notices he's doing a good job.

(HAHA, too bad it'll be SERO noticing.)

Would aligning with SERO or AGI be an easy or a difficult decision for him?

Aligning with AGI- he doesn't have any reason to, and finds their general entertainment blitzing to be really exploitative and indulgent.

I shamelessly brought him to SP with intentions to get him in on SERO's side- He's from an age where test tube kids are nothing out of the norm, and he's got plenty of background in working with a certain unusual specimen- 'Human Experimentation' isn't a phrase that particularly appalls him, if handled in the right manner, with good intentions-

SERO's got their loose standards. But they've also contributed to the city a great deal in terms of technical advancement, got very nice testing equipment that he can't get him paws on anywhere else. While Daedalus is a doctor, research is also a very fundamental part of his work, and he's not satisfying that itch working Skye's critical care- Okay, maybe under the table a little bit, but not to the extent he'd like to.

So with the right nudging, the right bait of ideal working conditions, any other measure of corporate wooing, and the assurance that he won't have to take part in any research he morally objects to....Daedalus would be hard pressed to find reason not to eventually join with SERO, especially if they allow him to draft his own schedules/projects and continue working a few shifts at Skye.

If they had to describe themselves, how would they sum themselves up? What do they think of themselves?

Daedalus thinks of himself in terms of roles as a doctor, as a scientist- he knows he ultimately existed as caretaker of Re-l and the Proxy, but now that Romdeau's finished he's concentrating on his professional skills a little closer. He's very aware he's dropped a lot in status in this strange new place. He's identifying as a 'newcomer' now, as the Immigrant Faction- that's a large turnabout in view, and so he's trying to fit to the mold of this city from a very flip-flopped perspective. He knows he's competent in knowledge, and genuinely enjoys being the 'good' doctor with approachable bedside manner, an advocate for his 'fellow newcomers'.

How well does Daedalus tolerate ambiguity?

Assuming you mean generally speaking, can he handle things that aren't absolutes?

He likes clean cut solutions, logical routes and answers- but I think he also appreciates complexity. He's a puzzler, I think he enjoys playing with ideas that aren't so clean cut, although he's likely to try to categorize and compartmentalize his understanding of things. Whys and hows fall into his thought patterns, but he's open to the notion of multiple factors. Ambiguity is fascinating- it's also a useful tool to fall back on, emotional ambivalence.

It should be noted that in personality, he's extremely tolerant of most things, even things that have frustrated him for a long time. He's a patient, passive person- most of the time.

Morally....He's comfortable with recognizing a grey area. That's a very human thing, what keeps humanity from being like the Autoreivs. Sure, there's coding and design- but ultimately human thought/emotion/morality goes a lot deeper than 1's and 0's and black and white.

Which one of them is more difficult to play? Is it easier to write posts for one over the other, or do tags for one over the other? AND which one is the most like you, personally?

I really only magnetized to Daedalus as a muse-I-wanna-play a few months ago, so Daedalus is definitely the one I'm handling with care right now, especially since there's so few Ergo Proxy players out there and I'm kinda one of the first to pave the standard.

I wonder if I'm playing Daedalus carefully intelligent enough. They're both easy to churn out posts for if I can breeze through a scenario in my heard that would inspire either of them to speak at length about anything-

Daedalus has more professional observations to make. Daedalus is curious with what he say, but also...much more frugal and polite about what he puts out, he's a lot more reserved, and he understands the worth of status and negotiation- he'll usually talk about what he thinks before broaching how he personally feels.

I roadblock with Daedalus when he's patiently satisfied with pushing no further for now, or when I get tossed a genuine stumper question where I need to think back and decide if his canon world still HAS those things, or if he'd know about the subject vs. what he'd tell.

They're both on some level like me- Daedalus sets up nicely on my introverted intellectual side, he is genuinely fascinated by concepts and feels kind of disoriented in disorder (which much of SP is to him). He likes balance, he likes neat answers, he likes slipping under red tape and working the existing system's imperfections to his advantage. He has an understanding/respect for purposeful existence, something that resonates with me. He can be kind of a quietly smug bastard about what he knows- I'm guilty of that too.

It occurs to me that Replica and Daedalus have something of an unrequited infatuation thing about "that girl" in their lives, Namine and Re-l. A protective bent. That's something I've never really experienced, but it fascinates me as an undercurrent of character motivation
