Film Review!

It's our 29th wedding anniversary today, so in a spirit of smoochy romance of course we went to the cinema to see The Bourne Ultimatum. Yes, a blockbuster thriller _does_ seem to be appropriate.

Of its kind, it was fun. Though I didn't like the shaky camera. It may have been intended to make the filum seem more 'real' (whatever that means) but it made me headachy and slightly seasick, and my grasp of the plot vanished within five minutes.

But: explosions! Car crashes! Matt Damon being chased by baddies over rooftops in exotic places! Sexily sinister CIA deputy head with totally unrealistic insistence that Bourne is a villain just to propel the plot along!

The Evul CIA (we have branches everywhere) who murdered people with impunity all over the world was simply silly, though. Disbelief, in CS Lewis' immortal phrase, was not so much suspended as hanged, drawn and quartered.

There also was a trailer for a filum called (I think) First Person Shooter which looks OTT and bloodthirsty and possibly not taking itself seriously - and it's got Clive Owen in it! Clive Owen!!!

Swoon. I don't care if it's a B-movie in all but name. CLIVE OWEN!
