Why in god's name do we care about any competitive gaming? How does a bunch
of people saying "we're better than you" or demonstrating things most will never
even try add anything to our enjoyment of the game? Who cares? If every single
competitive player dropped dead and the internet was wiped of all videos of
their exploits, nothing would change for 99% of games players. This conversation
would be like a friend bringing up a famous trial, and my telling them that they
should shut up because they don't know crap about law and how I could totally
argue the crap out of them in legal matters.

Who cares? In the end, any time you start a discussion about competitive
gaming, be it the Frag Dolls piece earlier today or this thread, it will
invariably come down to some, as here, who simply want to talk about how much
better these people are at games than others. But no one cares! I'm a worse GGXX
player than competitive players, I am sure. I'm also sure I'm a better chef than
most of them. Unless we're ready to go into an in-depth discussion and rank
everyone in everything, it's a stupid discussion because none of this means
anything.

But hey, if your self worth is measured by being able to beat someone at a
game, especially a game designed to be accessible and light-hearted, then you go
ahead and do that. I'll be over here, having fun on my own terms, perhaps
playing ZSS without you. And I'll be joined by the majority in completely not
caring.

Especially Nintendo as, another poster said, you'll still be buying the game,
and just whining on the internet about how it doesn't cater to an niche group
next to no-one cares about. Spare us.

This man's comment is made of win.
