He will probably be recognized by some, but, unless you're someone he already knows from home, he won't recognize you... surprise surprise... What exactly do you want to know? How it works, why it got stolen...?

I know the basics, apparently. That I can find through this device. I want to make sure there isn't anything pertinent that I'm missing.

Then you know about as much as we do. All we know about The First comes from rumors and gossip, mostly. The way the Gate itself works has always been pretty complicated, and I don't know much about it, myself. [shakes his head.] You're not missing anything important, far as I know.

So your commander is Axel. We both know about the same, but he might recall some details I don't. You can always try asking him. There's the Doctor, too. I think he understood more about the Gate than pretty much anyone else.
