There truly is no justice in this world

Words truly fail me. I know...I know...me speechless!! That has to be a first right?? But in this case, I truly have no words to describe how I feel after watching tonight's news and hearing this.

One of this country's, if not the world's greatest heart surgeons, Doctor Victor Chang, was murdered in cold blood twenty years ago and his murderer is about to walk free due to his advancing age and the onset of Parkinson's Disease. While Parkinson's is something that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, why should it be the reason that a murderer walks free after cutting the life of a great, nay brilliant, man short over something as inane as money?

Some people will say that he has served his time, but what about the mark that his crime left on Dr. Chang's family and the wider community? Who knows what other life-saving treatments for heart disorders Dr. Chang may have discovered or how many lives he would have saved with heart transplants if his life wasn't cut so tragically short in that Mosman side-street on that fateful day.

I remember seeing his murder on the news and I knew straight away that the world had not only lost a man who was at the top of his chosen profession, but a wife had lost her husband and her children had lost their father. His daughter's eulogy for her father is something I will never, ever forget.

Is it any wonder that the family of Doctor Chang has no faith in the justice system in this country? How can something like this be considered justice?

Words fail me.. Words truly fail me.
