On Wednesday night I was sitting on the couch when suddenly something hit me and fell into my lap. i looked down just long enough to see a face looking back at me which was enough before i jumped up and started screaming for dear life. when i finally calmed down i realized it was a cricket, and aren't those supposed to be good luck?

yesterday we saw POTC 3.  Very interesting movie. so different from the others. very surreal and dark. not much johnny depp. too much keira knightley (CLOSE YOUR GOD DAMNED MOUTH, WOMAN!!). not enough orlando bloom naked. not nearly enough geoffrey rush (who i've decided is just as good at his character if not better than johnny depp's version of Jack sparrow, but has not gotten nearly the acting credit he has deserved for his portrayal of Barbosa. Although i must admit, he's much better as a mean pirate-Barbosa than the kindly-non-pirate-Barbosa he plays in this movie).

The second movie felt VERY long. almost neverending.
This movie really just flew by for me. my butt never started hurting from sitting for too long!

The whole big ship battle scene was just phenomenal, and i found myself getting lost in it. I was just blown away, and didn't even realize it until after it was over. it was like i was in a trance or something. I mean, really- that is what filmaking is all about. I would pay to see the movie again just for that scene (which i think lasts about 40 minutes but feels like 5).

The movie also left me with many questions-very annoying questions. but that is to be expected in a 3 hour long 3rd in a trilogy type movie. I need to read online to find some answers.

Ultimately, i reall enjoyed this movie, but it left me wanting- wanting answers, wanting resolutions, wanting more jack sparrow and Barbosa the way they were in POTC 1. but i certainly would recommend it. Also, I would like to add that the music from these movies is wonderful. I love listening to it (especially in movie theater surround sound) and i've actually had it in my head all day!
