Today was the day for recording. Metal could be felt in the air...well..not literally, but it just felt like METAL! So I woke up at 8 this morning and was playing Final Fantasy XII and Guitar Hero II at Nic's house, and then around 11:30 or so I went and picked up Anthony and Lazlo from Lazlo's house and brought them to my hizouse. We get to the hizouse and I cook myself some food and we try out a microphone we bought from radioshack and it doesn't work in my computer (needed to plug it into the computer so we could record.) So we say ok, we know it will work at Lazlo's house, let's just go over there. So we pack all our stuff up and head back to Lazlo's and set everything up there. We start recording a little after 1 PM. The Saga begins. First off to record is Anthony's guitar tracks, which took maybe an hour to an hour and a half. After that we had to record Lazlo's bass tracks which took the majority of the time, probably around 3 or 4 hours. No joke. After those were done it was my turn to mop up and it took me probably 30 minutes or so to lay down the vocals and get everything how I wanted on them. So yeah, hours later we finally put together a 4 minute long song lol. After that we decided to do a cover of Revenge of the Zombie by Six Feet Under. This song is absolutely amazing and is one of my favorite songs ever made in all of creation. So Anthony records his guitar track in one try, took him 3 minutes or so. Done deal. I say "i've got to get going soon, and the guitar track is already on there so let me do the vocals over it and then I need to get going" so that is precisely what I did. Recorded my stuff and added a long growl on the end of the song that was my own personal touch ;-). Then after that I headed home and here I am now, that song should be posted up pretty soon on the Demonic Age myspace page, our original song is already on there. So yeah, an epic day of jamming pays off big with the first recordings of Demonic Age with vocals. I'm proud :-)
