- Home now! hello San Diego! hello rug and couch and bed and Penelope's toys. And kitty!! #
- NYC was amazing. It felt like I had never left. Wore Miss P all over town, up and down subway stairs. Day with N was completely transcendent #
- took ferry bus to 8th and broadway, wandered around duane reade, and then to my old department, where they've torn everything up. #
- Dept was barely recognizable, but met some old faces, who were their old selves. Meaning reserved and a bit clueless, except for a few. #
- Connected with 3 who were appropriately warm. all was how I remembered it apart from the floor plan. Especially broadway and the energy. #
- walked down to soho, destination kate spade! bag sale! nursed miss p in dressing room and then bought bags. both of us. mine is green! #
- brief stop in Lush, then took subway to union square for sushi and to see S. ate at enjuu. was just how I remembered it but with more ginger #
- best spicy salmon anywhere, and golden dragon roll with eel and mango and special sauce, which I dripped all over mei tai with sleeping baby #
- brown rice tea and perfect avacado rolls and sleeping baby. and N, of course. it does not get better than that. #
- after sushi, we went to see S. I was all fluttery inside to see her again. I couldn't wait for her to meet Miss P. #
- S said I seemed happy and serene. And then we talked fashion. I tried on her shoes. and loved her blouse and beautiful woven parisian bag. #
- It felt so, so good to be there again, in her office, and in the waiting room. Miss P cried when she saw me, tho. It was cute. #
- After, we wandered with Miss P in the mei tai, around shoe stores and wound our way to the east village as a storm threatened. #
- Oh, and we bought strawberries at the Green Market, and cider. then we hid out the storm at a fancy dress shop, with Miss P asleep on me. #
- we fed Miss P in tompkin square park, apples, all surrounded by wet trees and dirty benches. and finally we found our way to my tea place. #
- We had ginger tea lattes and N read Miss P the little prince, and I took tons of pictures. and bought tea and a strainer. apricot black tea #
- and *then* we went to simone's! N had a bellini, I had white sherry. B met us there, as did C. Miss P was cranky, and I nursed her. so odd! #
- And finally we had soup dumplings and dry and aromatic spicy chicken at our favorite chinese place. and then said our goodbyes *sob* #
- subway to the bus to the ferry and back to nj we went. best day in nyc ever. #
