Steve Gey is one of the best professors I've ever had the privilege to be taught by. He cares for his students and his passion for the law and teaching makes it impossible for the students to not love him, irregardless whether they agree with his positions or not.

He was diagnosed a couple years ago with Lou Gherig's Disease. He's recently deteriorated significantly to the point where he was teaching his classes via video conference from his home and now he can no longer even do that. He was rushed to the local hospital last week but he had been receiving treatment at the ALS facility at Emory in Atlanta so one of my other favorite professors got him Medevaced to Atlanta.

Despite his condition, he's very adamant about wanting to be at our graduation on May 3, despite that there's a very real chance he will catch pneumonia by being out of the hospital and die. Anyway, the point of this is there was a really touching article in the St. Pete Times about Professor Gey, his illness, and some students he's close to at the school, despite their difference in religious beliefs. I wanted to post it to maybe help share his story and show why the 3 years I've spent at FSU have really been a rewarding experience.
