X-Men Review

First, non spoilery stuff for those who haven't seen it. Overall, I found it to be really enjoyable. I love me some Hugh Jackman in leather and I will definitely go see any Wolverine spinoff. Second, make sure you stay after the credits, there's a 20 second scene that's worth the wait. I saw it on midnight Thursday and then went back the next afternoon because I didn't know about that extra scene.

Ok, now onto the spoilery stuff...

First, a gripe. I HATE HATE HATE how little Rogue was in this movie. She's most certainly my favorite character and they practically cut her out. And while I know her absorption power sucks (heh, I guess that's a pun there) I was really disappointed that they had her go take the mutant cure. Even in the comics she stops before she has her powers suppressed (can't remember the exact storyline). I needed WAY more Wolverine/Rogue action because they are my new OTP that I had forgotten about since X2.

Second, overall I really enjoyed it. I liked how the Jean/Dark Phoenix was done, how one second she was in control and the next she wasn't and she was begging Wolverine to kill her. Also, I'm still completely in love with Famke's hair cut and color. I'd dye mine that color but it'd look horrid on me. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is awesome. Best line in the whole movie was "Don't you know who I am? I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!" Delivered perfectly and I couldn't stop laughing. I hated they Killed Cyclops off so early, James Marsden is too pretty to not use. Also, there was way too much Storm. As much as I enjoy Halle Berry as Storm, she was too much, they should have just cut her out rather than give in to Halle's demand for a lead role or else she'd walk.

LOVED the end Magneto scene with the chess piece. Once Fox sees how much this X-Men is raking in they'll for sure at some point make a fourth. Why stop a sure money machine? And the scene after the credits was fantastic. Guess Charles doesn't find it too unethical to put a conscious mind into a person without one after all.
Also,
purple_smurf, since Wolverine/Rogue is my new OTP a couple of questions for you.  Is it true there's a pic of a deleted scene from X2 out there of Wolverine grabbing Rogue and kissing her?  And second, in the comics did they ever address the kiss between the two of them or was it completely forgotten?  Hugh and Anna have such good onscreen chemistry they definitely need to write Wolverine and Rogue in as a couple into the comics.  Forget that loser Gambit (you know I love you
leelee_cakes, but W/R is SO MUCH BETTER!)
