It's over
Wow, another chapter of my life closed. Tonight was the final performance of Kiss Me, Kate at GHS. I seriously have fallen so in love with these kids. I'm not sure why, but each one of them has touched my heart in a special way. I'll never forget them, or how much fun I had working with them. One of the girls whom I got especially close with, Courtney, brought me these awesomely fuzzy purple socks as a gift with a thank you note. Really, I saw so much of myself in her!
Last night I actually went out to a club for an hour with a few of the 18+ students. They wanted me to come so badly and I actually had a pretty good time with them. Is that wrong? Hanging out with kids still in high school? I know it sounds wrong, but it doesn't feel wrong. They feel just like a bunch of friends!
Anyhow, I'm going to miss them all a ton, and I'm going to miss heading to that high school for rehearsals three days a week. Sigh, if only I could be heading for rehearsals for the rest of my life, I'd be in heaven!
Luckily, I do get to go back to the high school ONCE more...they owe me $125!! Haha.
