here's to you!

Jan 28, 2006 12:32

wow. i really dont know where to start. there's SOOO much to say and i'm just at a loss for words right now. it took me forever to sleep last night because i kept thinking about it. so, i have all my pictures ready so maybe i'll just put them in and talk about them. most of them speak for themselves but there's a few that i can explain.

(the thing is crossed out because there was no opening act. which made things sooo much better)

so, we got there at 2:15-2:30ish. we didnt want to leave too late and then maybe catch traffic. and my mom wanted to gamble a little bit, so we got there early and i took my pictures of the actual building... which was WAY cool. it was so big and all open. it was just greatness. so, here are those pictures

OKAY! this place was too cool. it was called ody-sea and the whole front of the store was a fish tank. you can kind of see it in the picture. so you walked through the thing and looked up and there were fish! and on the sides and in the front. and then i took a picture of one of the fishies!

i love him! his name is carl.

okay!! we got there early and saw that at 3:30 rascal flatts were going to go accept their star in the Walk of Fame at Mohegan Sun. it was sooo cool! they came out and talked a little bit about how far they've been since they started out. and then they went to the star and touched it. it was great.

JOE DON! (agh! he's too pretty!) Gary, and Jay

GARY! and i like to think that jay is looking at us in this picture. i dont know... i can hope cant i! haha

STOP BEING SO HOT! i love this picture

JOE DON! dont make me tell you again! :P

The one i put up last night. it might be my favorite picture of this whole thing

and this is my sort of expensive signed authentic picture of trot that i bought at one of the places. that had sooo many autogaphed pictures. like.. an insane amount. of movie stars and baseball players and football players and everything! and then they had these pictures where it was a movie promotional poster and then also included in the frame was a piece of the film strip used in the movie. they had HP ones and gone with the wind ones and tiny ones in bookmark form... when i get rich, i am totally going back there.

and now!!! the actual concert. like 6 hours after we got to the place, the concert was supposed to start. but then they held it a half hour because, lets face it, when do famous people do anything on time? so we went in, i bought a shirt and a picture and my mom bought a shirt and a magnet. and then we saw where our seats where and it was almost like "are you kidding me?" they were so close. probably as close as our seats at the red sox game. maybe a little bit farther away

so, they opened with "Where You Are" from Feels like Today and then while everyone was screaming and i was taking pictures Gary was like, "do you guys like fast cars..." and i SCREAMED. i didnt even need to know what else he was going to say. and then he said, "do you like freedom?" and i went nuts! because DUH, fast cars and freedom is MY song. and i screamed so loud. at first i took a video but it was too long and i would have never had enough pictures or space to do anything else. so i made a shorter one and you can basically hear me and my mom singing. it was so SO perfect, and they OWN live!!

okay. the following pictures are in no order. i'm not even sure what they were singing during each one. but this is just to show you what they look like in concert and that joe don is really hot. :P

(gary is in the black shirt. jay is in the red shirt. joe don is the hot one with the blonde hair)

okay, time out for a second. because this was way cool! they had kind of like a walkway thing that came up and around so they could get out to the front of the audience and sing. so, while they're singing one of their songs (i cant remember which one) these cables started falling from the ceiling. then the three guys walked over to the front platform and stood on.

and then. they LIFTED THEM UP. and brought them all the way across to the back of the place on this mini stage and they sang this remake of an old song that no one knew and skin (aka, the only rascal flatts song i dont like)

but it was really funny because when they were back there they were like "and to you people who spent all that money on a front row ticket, we're doing the rest of the show from back here." which, of course, they didnt. but it was cool for those people way in the back. and then it was also cool that they sang Skin back there because i could sit back and start deleting the pictures that didnt come out good because, sorry, its a pretty song and its sad yeah.. but you read books about what happens in that song. and it does more for me when it's in a book. but everyone else was singing and holding their lighters up and stuff. so, they had fun. and so did i. when they came back to the front stage and finished the concert.

and these pictures are of the piano jay made all pretty and it really was cool. they all were standing on it and playing and then they sang bless the broken road on it. jay played the piano. gary sang and then joe don sat on it with his guitar.

This is when jay sang and played rocket man by elton john. they did a couple of songs that weren't their own and they did soooo good! all three of them did sweet child of mine. by guns n' roses and then they did hotel california by the eagles and that was just awesome awesome!

okay. here are the rest of the concert pictures. we're almost done.

okay, these are the last three pictures. :[

like at every great concert, they shot the confetti stuff out of the cannons during their last song "here's to you" which i also screamed like a madman during. i have some of the confetti too. hehe. it was allll over the smaller stage thing. but it was so cool. and thats joe don playing in the middle of it.

and then... they left the stage. but there's ALWAYS an encore. they came back to play 2 more songs

and this is after the encore when they all cam to the front of the stage and played together. and then the rest of the band came and then it was over.

thats all of them. we were at a side angle, so you couldnt see them that good. but they had like 10 or so guys.

The Songs

AND THATS IT! :[ the best non-bronson or hatp concert i have ever been to. sorry, LFO but those two times i saw you just didnt match to what this concert was and what it did to me. i had the time of my life. from the minute we left the house at like 12:30 until we got home at 1:00. it was just so great and i'm so happy we got our tickets and we got such great seats. hope you enjoyed my entry... i had fun writing it. and it would really suck if no one read it... but you will. and you'll comment. because you LOVE me!
