Atlantis - 5.07 "Whispers"

I'm late as usual, but here goes....

There were several things that bothered me about this episode and very little that impressed me. It was boring, overall, and a complete waste of time, imo. The episode seemed more of an excuse to have Carson come back for an episode and then get scared off again.

First thing that got to me was that Sheppard didn't know who his personnel was? WTF? Even if you argue that the Atlantis contingency has grown by leaps and bounds, I can't believe that the military commander of a base wouldn't know and/or actually MEET the teams that would be going off-world. It's crappy writing and it makes Sheppard look bad as a commander.

Second point on that is the whole, "Oh you're all girls!" *insert tongues and drool* Give me a break! And then the whole, "Yeah funny it worked out that way, we are female hear us roar." sucked. BTW, as a woman, I was insulted by this team after having some high hopes of seeing some women back in action. *sighs* I want Cadman back.

Before anyone says it, no I'm not pissy about Carson flirting with Porter. Although I thought it was overkill, Porter was cute and the flirting was way over the top, and it kind of reminded me off the girl Carson flirted with from Hoff.

The gum popping was just... I'm sorry, there aren't words for the level of wrongness that brought out in me. Between that, the Starbucks comment, and the two snaps attitudes... Excuse me, is this Atlantis 90210?

I'm sure Sheppard was referring to some horror movie in reference to prom queen and boy in a wheelchair, but it was lost me as I'm not a horror movie fan.

The plus was the setting was creepy and the creatures were pretty scary looking. But again, it was lost in pointlessness.

After last week's episode, this was a serious letdown. And if the season continues like this, then I really don't think I'm going to be all that upset at seeing the show come to an end. It may be for the best.
