Zombieland

Your eyes aren't deceiving you, I just watched Zombieland before. Admittedly there wasn't a vast selection of new releases, but this is what was chosen

The title pretty much says it all. There are zombies, they get killed. While there are many zombie flicks out there, I'd rate this as one of the better ones. I have seen 28 days (or one of that series, I can't remember now) and this is considerably better.

Don't get me wrong, it's no masterpiece, but it's okay for a filler movie. It stars Jesse Eisenberg (the kid from Adventureland; ironically there is actually a theme park in this movie too), Woody Harrelson (Cheers, Larry Flynt), Bill Murray (do I really need to quote any?) and the others are unknowns. Bill Murray is a bit of a scene stealer, but his role is essentially a large cameo. His exit is hilarious though.

It really is no different to what I imagine the plot is in all other zombie flicks (certainly not a lot different to 28 days), just better executed. And much funnier. If you aren't a fan of violence, definitely don't watch. It's not what I'd describe as over the top (as in excessive violence directed at one victim), but there is a considerable amount of zombie killing.

There's not really much else I can say without revealing the plot, except to say that if you want to watch something mildly low brow, quite funny, moderately violent, with the standard love story, then this is the movie for you. If not, leave it on the shelf

I'll be quite pleased to go back to work in the morning. All this tv watching is getting on my wick. Hopefully next weekend is more eventful. I've been getting some flak for not entering in next weekends duathlon, but it's quite expensive. Plus I need some new running shoes - I went for a run this morning and my knees have been sore ever since. Of course it could be the large amount of sitting down I've been doing this weekend :p
