I'd heard nothing about Adventureland, so it was a pleasant surprise.
Generally I prefer character dramas, but for 2010, I thought they needed to go the other way. They had all this cool CGI disaster stuff, but it didn't last long enough. It must've cost a fortune though. A surprisingly good cast here - no 'massive' names - but well cast and well acted, even the typical cliched characters. Although perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned the arks, that was kinda a big surprise. The entire bit beforehand I was thinking "wtf - spaceships? This is going to be stupid"
I remember Deep Impact. I'd forgotten about the bunkers. It starred Tea Leoni & Morgan Freeman?
LOL about Natalie Portman. I haven't seen much of her work, but she and Hayden suffered from being in that trilogy. I watched the first one (did you know that when Kiera Knightley & Natalie Portman were in their Queen makeup, one of their mother's couldn't tell them apart? allegedly) and the third to find out how Anakin became Vader. What a waste of time. Too much CGI, weak plot. The thing that sticks in my mind is Natalie Portman's reading of the "you're breaking my heart" line. Nailed it.
