Super Dimensional Fortress-1
SDF-1 Interior ---
After the UN took control of Macross Island, a military base of operations was built to secure the area and begin the immense task of studying the derelict alien battlefortress. This base eventually grew into Macross City, housing a population of thousands of engineers, military personnel and civilian families who were associated with the SDF-1 reconstruction project.
Macross City, along with the rest of Macross Island, was accidentally transported to Pluto orbit when the SDF-1's spacefold system malfunctioned. Much of the city was salvaged and is currently being reconstucted inside the hull of the SDF-1, and this internal city will be also known as Macross City after it is completed.
This is a curse for the SDF-1, because the crew and pilots of the ship have to take double care to protect their invaluable cargo -- but it is also a blessing, as Macross City provides a breath of normalcy in the face of war, with its shops, diners, theatres, parks, and other locations that remind even the most military of men and women that there is something to be said for a moment of civilian life.

Claudia Grant
It was a rather uneventful patrol. With Wolf Squad now on deck, the Skull Squadron Commander and CGA of the Macross can finally take a breather, which is exactly what Roy is doing. The commander is leaned back is in chair, turned away from the door, but the strumming of a guitar can definetly be made out in the hallway. It's not bad, either!
Indeed. Claudia would never say that Roy's playing is terrible - and that's not because she's currently engaged to him. Making her way down the corridor with a clipboard tucked under one arm, the bridge officer is in fine spirits. The duty shift wasn't too bad, barring some issues within Macross City. Trivial really, with their approach to Mars coming up quickly. Pressing the door chime once before entering, it's not like he'll tell her to leave. Unless he was verbally reprimanding an officer.
Hearing the door chime, Roy finishes his song, starting to turn around. "Look, if it's about that new patch, I told you it was an IPA thing, Master Ch.. oh, hey sweetheart!" The flight leader stands up immediately, setting aside his guitar to cross over to greet his fiance propely. "What brings you down to the bowels of hell?" he asks teasingly. "It's not the devil is it? Cause I'm in."
All seems quiet on the SDF-1. The people in Macross City are undergoing their normal day to day tasks and the military? Routine patrols. Except for one Claudia Grant and Roy Fokker. The two RDF officers are in his office. One sitting and playing the guitar, the other...
"I'm not here on business, Roy." Said teasingly in return, Claudia's mood is good enough to indicate the duty shift was not that bad. In fact, it was routine. "And, you seem well behaved to me. What were you saying before? Don't tell me someone is actually trying to get into the entire mess that is the IPA?" Alright. Not mess, but.. people just can't take that kind of change without some sort of shock.
"Eh, one of the flight officers noted the Black Sheep patch that was underneath the Skull Squadron markings, Claudia, no big." Roy gives a round about shrug of his shoulders. "You know how people are, want to know what it is we're doing. Actually, now that you mention it.." the blonde aviator gets a wide grin, "I had talked to Captain Gloval earlier, and he said I could pick up a wingman to bring with me."
Now, one would seem to think he'll automatically pick Hunter, right? Not quite. Picking up the file off the desk. "..his name's Max Sterling. Just graduated from the advance training class." Picture of a spectacled, blue haired kid. Looks rather nerdy, really. "Damn high reflex and targetting scores. His training officer recommended him for Lieutenant jg. Sci-Fi nut, so he'll adapt to the Gate theory quickly. And best of all, he's the perfect foil to Amuro and Shinji. Kid's as happy go lucky as they come."
Meanwhile, some distance away, a Zentraedi battle pod in a shape that is likely entirely unfamiliar with the RDF slowly approaches, flanked by two other, more familiar battle pods. The one in the center is a Queadluun-Rau, a heavily-armed, more graceful version that does not look like a headless ostrich. Its pilot glances around, communicating to one of her wingwomen in the Zentraedi language as the display reflects on her helmet.
"This is Miriya Parino. We're moving in, and the battle fortress has been spotted." Her voice is calm and confident, and she shows no sign of the unease she felt when those damn Micronians spoke on the mass frequency. So what if they are, apparently, everywhere? The Zentraedi had to outnumber them, and she herself could take any Zentraedi.
"He.. doesn't look that impressive, Roy. Are you sure about that?" It's Claudia's first reaction, seeing the picture and knowing what some of the other valkyrie pilots appearances tend to be like. They don't have glasses. Max does. "On the other hand, I'm not in your line of command. If you say that he's capable then, he's capable." Said with a shrug, she steps into the office... just when the attack alarms start going off.
Meanwhile, on the SDF-1's bridge? "Captain, we're detecting approaching craft. They could be hostile, sir!" And at least some of them look like Zentradi.
The Female Zentraedi have chosen well, their area of entry is where Red Squadron is on duty. While they are battle hardened, they are not the most combat ready of the Veritech squadrons. A pair of VT-1Js turn as they pick up the radar intercepts, sending a transmission back to SDF-1 as they move to intercept
[Macross] SDF-1 Command, this is Red Six, we have some unidentified blips of screen. One pod, two unidentified, moving to intercept.
This is the same time that the SDF-1 is picking up the flight.
[Macross] Lisa Hayes, "Copy that, Red Six. Move in, identify and destroy if neccessary. Happy hunting. We'll have Skull One on standby."
[Macross] Copy that, SDF-1 command. We're in route.
Down below, Roy gives a sigh at the klaxons. They don't get much alone time as it is. The flight officer grins, "..well, you always said never to underesitmate anyone, sweetheart. And we'll start off light. Let them come here and meet him. Then they're mecha." Lower him in the water slowly, right?
That's when the Sourpuss ruins his day, "...Commander Fokker, please prepare to launch. Commander Fokker, please report to the Flight Deck."
"..oh, honey." Roy mutters.
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Roy Fokker says, "So, how about a romantic dinner at the park, we'll look at that stack of magazines you have, Claudia, and we'll finally start planning the first day of the rest of our liv.. .*alarm klaxons* ...oh for crying out loud."
The unidentified blips are actually Miriya and two wingwomen, one flanking her on either side. The ace in the Queadluun-Rau moves in quickly, her speed exceeding that of a normal Zentraedi unit. "I'm moving in. Follow my lead!" She doesn't need to bark any more orders, confident as she is in the competency of her fellow Females. She swoops in, firing a few warning shots and waiting. They have to send some of their warriors out, right? If she doesn't get a fight, she'll be disappointed!
The two VFs of Red do arrive on scene first. One of them opens fire on the battlepod in the middle, streaking by in fighter mode, as the second sends a launch of missiles, transforming to battloid, and opening fire on the strange new mecha that opened fire on the SDF-1.
"It's alright, Roy," Claudia replies comfortingly, lifting a hand with a small shake of her head. She understands. He's the best they have. "I'll be on the bridge before Lisa can call me. Then again.." They already know where she is. "Tell me about this Max Sterling guy when you get back, alright?" Because he IS coming back. "Watch yourself up there." She can't say that more than enough times for him to know she's concerned.
Grabbing his helmet, Roy grins, pausing for a moment to kiss his wife to be on the cheek. "Got the best reason in the world to come back for." with a wink, he pauses one more time to look at her. Heading out the door, he heads for the Flight Deck of the Prometheus and his just refueled Skull One.
And if Claudia looks at his desk, he does seem to have a couple of magazines in the mix for tuxeodes and a vacation guide.
Meanwhile, back at the flight deck, Roy climbs into Skull One, locking down and sealing up. As the Skull Leader is moved into position for launch, Roy runs through the pre-flight with the grace and ease of someone who's done this way too many times before.
Ah, yes, there they are.
The Queadluun-Rau armor dodges the shots easily, though one of the flanking females takes some heavy damage, and Miriya swoops around before open-firing from the cannons armed to her power armor. She has a slight smirk on her face. Stupid Micronians, none of them can take her. She hopes they at least throw a challenge at her. "That's right, keep coming, you fools..."
Meanwhile, Azonia watches her ace's progress from the bridge of her ship on the viewing screen, frowning. Overconfidence breeds weakness, and Azonia knows that if Miriya has one weakness, it's her own overconfidence.
The Red Squadron Veritechs press the attack, but they aren't the best of the best. They're more like.. we needed someone that can fly. They only have 12 kills between them. Red two, the one that streaked by in fighter mode tries to circle around for a second attack, before the cannon fire catches beneath the left wing. The plane spins, and tries to transform, but it's too late as it collapses in on itself and explodes in a blossom of fire.
The second VT reports the loss of his wing man, and lowers his autocannon, firing wildly at Miriya's juking and dodging mecha as he finds himself down three to one. This is gonna be a short fight unless he gets help.
Speaking of, Skull Leader gets into position and launches, leaping off of the Prometheus, and making a quick turn as he streaks towards what at best, will be listed as a skirmish. A footnote in the siege of the SDF-1.
Miriya's having little difficulty with the Red Squadron Veritechs, dodging the fire of the second VT with narrowed eyes and a half-smirk. She doesn't even quite get worked up as she swerves about, dodging and returning fire in mid-spin. The armor she's using is clearly a lot faster than that of her wingmates, one of whom is hit by the red VT's attack and sent spiraling and crashing.
This /does/ catch Miriya's attention, her glare flaring up. A loss of a crewmember is a sign of personal failure, and she cannot fail!
Red Five doesn't have time to enjoy his victory as one of the new mecha goes down. The blasts from Miryia's Ra tear through the back of the Battloid, causing it to lurch forward, and then stops moving, autocannon falling from it's lifeless hand.
"Red Five, Red Four, do you copy?" Skull Leader sends out. "Repeat, do you.. copy.. dammit. SDF-1 command, Red Four and Five are deadsticks. Going after the remaining boogey." As Roy races towards the scene, he flicks the trick up on his joystick, trying to draw a bead on Miriya. As he gets a half-lock, he unleashes a stream of tracers as he closes ranks.
You miss Miriya Parino with your Y Hello Thar~ jab.
"Ha!" Miriya swerves and spins away from the tracers, her Queadluun-Rau proving itself to be far more maneuverable than the ugly-looking facade would suggest. She watches this new opponent, hoping he'll be less of a disappointment than the others, while she catches him in her sights and tries to open-fire with the lighter cannons.
Meanwhile, Azonia frowns impatiently and attempts to contact another ship, stomping around in irritation. "Khyron! Khyron, where are you? You were supposed to be here by now! Have you been drinking or something?"
She hates her life.
Miriya Parino misses Roy Fokker with her I SHOOT DURH jab.
Oh, shi, lasers. And Roy didn't even get a chance to have a drink. As Miriya fires, Roy grabs the G switch, throwing on the air brakes as the Veritech Guardian forms up, driving away from the laser fire. "Listen up, uglies!" Roy calls into the comm, pretty sure they can't hear him. "I was just going to have a good night with my fiance, and maybe get lucky, but you had to come out here and screw it up!"
Pressing down the trigger, Roy's Veritech unleashes a swarm of four missiles that spiral towards the Rau as he pulls back on the controls, launching the bird skywards. "Die in a fire, thanks. Jerks."
You switch armor modes to Veritech Guardian.
You hit Miriya Parino with your Hey, look, Missiles! attack.
"I'm right-" WHAM. BOOM. CRASH. KAPOW. THUD. "-here, Lady Azonia."
The Backstabber's arrival is noted by a couple small explosions in the vicinity of the local Gate, the last signs of the unlucky local travellers who failed to get out of the way of the two-mile long Queadol Magdomilla. A sullen Grel appears on Azonia's vidscreen, mumbling something about thinking they would only hit four ships. He's followed by a far more chipper and battlesuited Khyron, who's holding up five fingers to his camera. "That's five! I win again!"
Meanwhile,
"DAMMIT, JET! I WAS SHAVING!"
"That wasn't my fault, some joker sideswiped us!"
"Edward is going ZOOOOM ZOOOOOM!"
But nevermind that. Let's get back to Miriya. This time, she does take a hit from that swarm of missiles, her eyes widening as the explosions hit her armor and send her spinning off-course. "This one is not bad," she mumbles, and then raises her eyes at the babbling on the radio. The words she doesn't recognize are 'uglies,' 'fiance,' and 'lucky.' Well, no, she understands luck. Is he takling about a battle technique?
"We are not Uglies, we are proud Zentraedi!" The voice that answers Roy back is hard to discern as feminine over the radio, because it's booming and just so damn /loud./ "You will not use the SDF-1 to your nefarious fiance purposes!" And then she releases a mess of laser fire of her own, aiming right for that VF.
Azonia sighs and smacks her forehead again. Why did Breetai saddle her with working with /him?/ "Lord Khyron, Miriya is providing a distraction. Thank you for arriving in a prompt manner." Grit teeth, patience, patience. "You may make your move."
The laser glances off of the Veritech's left leg, shattering away some of the armor. The blast also leaves a black mark there as he pushes the Veritech upwards, gritting his teeth. Roy breaks the Veritech into it's final mode, this one of the Battloid.
Grabbing the cigar shaped rifle, Roy twists towards Miryia's armor, and opens fire with the autocannon, sending rounds racing at the mecha, aiming to take out the antenna that forms the radio suite. "Hey, ugly. Much as I'd like to fraternize with you, I'm shooting you down now, thanks."
You hit Miriya Parino with your Autocannon! attack.
"Enough wordplay," Khyron growls as he slides on his battle helmet. "Your work here has been exemplary as usual, Lady Azonia," he says with a quick nod to the vidscreen, "But now the Botoru Battalion will finish the job! Launch the assault!"
The problem with Gate travel when you have a fleet of fifteen gargantuan battleships, is that the portal is only big enough to slip one through at a time. Sending all fifteen through would be too big of a tipoff for the Micronian scouts, so in his strategic wisdom, Khyron only sent the command ship. No worries, he has fifteen thousand battle pods at his disposal, all of which are exiting the flagship and flying directly for the SDF-1. Strength in numbers! At the lead is none other than the Backstabber himself, flying lead in his Maruader- er- Officer's Pod. "We have them now! Today will end in victory!"
"Augh!" Ignoring the radio strangeness for the moment, Miriya curses the distraction-CLEARLY A PLOT ON THE PART OF THE CRAFTY MICRONIANS-as Roy's unit transforms in a way she was told it would do, and blows off a chunk of her armor. Miriya Parino has never lost, and she will never lose now! Narrowing her blue eyes, the Zentraedi woman engages the thrusters on her armor and rushes forwards, firing at Roy's Battloid as she sweeps around it.
Meanwhile, Azonia just watches.
Miriya Parino misses Roy Fokker with her PYEW PYEW PYEW attack.
Let the dance of death begin. With the radio jammers in place, he only has local communications. He can keep up with the SDF-1 and Miriya.. but not with the Zentradi units moving into position. Backpedalling on the thrusters as the Skull Leader moves in a wide circle around the rushing Mecha, laser blasts chasing after it.
"Not bad." he says between gritted teeth as his own autocannon matches laser rounds with laser fire. As he gets behind the mecha for a moment, the head turrets drop into position, locking onto the Rau, before Roy fires off a quadruple blast of laser fire.
Back at the SDF-1, Lisa notes the incoming vessels, "Captain Gloval, a group of Zentradi have broken off from the fleet and are approaching the SDF-1."
Gloval chews on the end of his pipe. "Open fire on them, and prepare the reflex cannon. And Lisa, get Fokker on the horn, see if he can call in support."
"Aye, sir." Lisa dials up Roy's frequency, "Skull Leader, this is SDF-1 command, see if you can find backup from the sheep."
"Yes'm." Roy manages quickly as he continues to the killing dance with the Zentradi ace.
The SDF-1 opens fie with a blistering array of Ack-Ack, Monsters, and missile launchers.
You hit Miriya Parino with your Head Shot! Hahhaaha, get it? *bricked* jab.
The SDF-1 is going to need a lot of ack-ack to cover all those battle pods and battle armors! As Khyron's army thrusts into range, they open fire on anything that moves - any anything that doesn't for good measure. As usual, the orders to capture the fortress have been stretched into capturing it mostly intact. The lead Officer's Pod stays behind for now, directing the troops and keeping a stray eye on Miriya's fight. She is the finest ace of Azonia's force, so if she's having trouble... "I might just have to step in!"
Miriya would NEVER EVER EVER IN A MILLION YEARS admit she is having some trouble!
But yeah, this one is proving to be less than a breeze.
That laser blast hits her machine head-on, and more of the armor is chipped off as the Zentraedi scowls. Who is this mysterious Micronian? Perhaps they know who they are dealing with, and have sent one of their betters! But no matter, no one is a match for Miriya Parino. She launches another volley of laser fire, keeping that VF in her sights and grinning. At least she's having some fun.
Miriya Parino misses Roy Fokker with her STUPID MICRONIAN WITH TOO MUCH HAIR attack.
Damn, she's quick. The VF-1S is also light on it's thrusters. As Miriya swings around to fire, Roy glares, leaping backwards as he throws the vehicle from Battloid back to Guardian as he does so. As he goes back into falcon looking form, Roy depresses the thrusters, actually flying upside down and backwards away from the blasts.
"..alright, have you now, buddy." Roy comments as he gets the mecha in his sights. Pressing the triggers, Roy sends out a pair of missiles to try to swat Miriya's Rau as he starts to fall back towards the SDF-1 to help with the defense.
The SDF-1 is able to pour out a lot of fire. Between the Raidar-X's, Monsters, and Spartans, along with it's own guns, that's a lot of firepower. "Commander Hayes, how long until Main Gun is ready?"
"Two minutes, sir!" Lisa responds, just as the radio goes off, Roy's voice coming over the frequencies, "Backup incoming, do not engage the Gate area!"
This is also the same time that Wolf, Vermillion, and Blue squadrons start to launch to mix it up with the battle pods.
You miss Miriya Parino with your Surprise, Missiles! attack.
Shinji Ikari just said Evas couldn't fly.
Apperently Dr. Akagi took this as a dare.
"Um...is this...safe?" The lukewarm blooded pilot of Eva Unit-01 asks, scratching the back of his head and looking at the super-experimental brand new Evangelion non-atmospheric encounter Type-S equipment. "It just sort of looks like a big purple rocket strapped to my back."
"Your Eva's back." Ritsuko Akagi corrects, tapping her nose. "And you're the one who asked to do more test pilot work, right? Becides, I designed it myself!"
Voulinteer, he said. Help Ayanami spend less time in the hospital, he said. "R-roger." He's going to die and no one will notice because Asuka and Misato will just think they found extra closet space and his friends will get distracted by something shiny and his dad will go, "What, I had a kid? ...Futyusuke, why did you not inform me of this possibly-pertinant information?" and go back to being cryptic so his glorified accounting job will still look badass, that's what's going to happen. "Uh...h-how am I launching?"
"Like this!" Ritsuko, still smarting from Shinji's absolute lack of faith in her work, is a little /too/ cheerful when springing the catapult on the kid.
FWA'BOING, goes Evangelion Unit-01 and, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" goes the Third Child as they're spring-catapulted out of the SDF-1...and towards adventure! Adventure might involve accadentily body checking a damn dirty Zentradi or two, as Shinji is a little too terrified to try and not bump into the alien invaders. He'll feel bad about that later.
Shinji Ikari misses Khyron Kravshera with his Bump feint.
Khyron casually checks his scanners, then brings up Grel's stoic face on a side screen. "I believe the Micronians will be firing their main cannons soon, so now would be a good time to return beyond the Gate. And," he pauses for a moment as if pondering something of massive strategic importance, then flashes four fingers to the screen. Grel responds with five fingers. "It will be done!"
The massive command ship heaves about, clocking two more ships and ruining the rest of Spike's shave, then escapes at maximum velocity through the Gate. It's at this time that Khyron returns his attentions to the battle, just in time to avoid becoming Zentraedi bugsplatter on Unit-01's windshield. In the proud manufactured history of the Zentraedi race, never have they encountered someone with mecha actually -larger- than their own! "My word," the Backstabber gasps in absolute terror as the Eva plows through his battle line. The egg-shaped battlepods peel out of formation to avoid a nasty collision, leaving Khyron and Shinji plenty of room to tango. "The Micronians have GIANTS on their side! But victory is so close... I will not lose to that- that- THING!" A swarm of missiles launch from just about every open port on the pod, each one homing in on the jolly red giant!
Khyron Kravshera gets a glancing blow on Shinji Ikari with his Zentraedi Standard Response To Strange Alien Weapons #1: Fire Lots Of Missiles attack.
Miriya does not FWA'BOING as her Queadluun-Rau swerves out of the way of a second missile swarm, unwilling to fall for the same trick twice. But maybe she boings.
But you can't see it, nublets.
She gets a lock onto Roy's VF, grinning a little as two of her lasers fire at it at the same time in rapid succession. "I have you now, pesky Micronian! They can send their best as long as they want and they'll never defeat Miriya Parino!"
Miriya Parino critically strikes Roy Fokker with her We Think a Little Highly Of Ourselves, Don't We, Dear? attack.
As he's continuing to backpedal, Roy finds himself, staring at the lasers that are aimed at his cockpit. Bringing around the left arm of the Guardian, they take the blast meant for Roy. The pilot scowls behind his controls, and starts to dive. "Sorry, you're going to have to do better than /that/!" he shouts back as he descends on Miryia's mecha.
As he gets close, suddenly, he seems to reverse, bringing up the feet of the reversed 'chicken-walk' design, and fires a blast of jet wash right into the front of the mecha, trying to find the sensor unit and screw it up so he can get up close and personal.
Lightning starts to jump back and forth between the twin beams of the SDF-1's main cannon as it charges. "Hold your fire while that.. whatever /that/ is is out there!" Gloval stares at the mecha that came to their aid. Roy had reported on it, but it sounded like one of his stories. "...Boishe Moi."
You miss Miriya Parino with your See, Amuro, Jet Wash is /good/ for something! stun.
Shinji Ikari has one thing in common with Coop: They're both at their best/most destructive when then have no idea what they're doing. Shinji makes a note to feel horrible about the exploded pods later, as he's busy screaming like Scooby Doo did that time he got stuck in the World of Darkness plane. "Dr. Akagi, how do I turn it on?!"
"Oh, right! Pull on your butterfly handle. And good luck!"
Shinji pulls...there's a choked, sputtering sound. Shinji is pasted with Zentradi missles, and goes "Argharghargh!" and pulls /again/. Same choked, sputtering sound. "Oh what the...come on allready!" Pull, vrooooooooom!
The evil-looking purple and green giant's back-pack roars to life, keeping the thing aloft in the void of space with a radiance that almost makes the monster look like it has a pair of fiery wings. If you squint a little. Shinji is blissfully unaware of the irony, and attempts to hail the Zentradi vessel. "S-stop! This is Evangelion Unit-01, with the IPA, and...um...wow, this is akward, I..f-forgot what regulations said to say..." Shinji sighs, and figures someone who shot a swarm of missles at him isn't going to retreat anyway. He...also has no real missle weapons up here. So, instead, Unit-01 attempts to get up close and personal, flying akwardly forward to send its big purple fist all up in Khryon's big, ugly grill!
[Fac-IPA] Roy Fokker says, "Screw the regulations, Shinji, punch the crap outta that officer's pod!"
Shinji Ikari hits Khyron Kravshera with his Git Out The Way Son attack.
[Fac-IPA] Shinji Ikari over the sounds of metal socking metal. "L-like that, sir?"
[Fac-IPA] Roy Fokker says, "/Works/!"
Khyron appears quite unamused on Shinji's screen. "More Micronian wordplay. Please spare us the drivel, I've come to take possession of-" Whoa, that's a bloody huge fist. The Backstabber's eyes pop, and he quickly sticks his pod to the left - but not fast enough to avoid getting Unit-01's fist slammed into the flank of his nice shiny mecha!
"ARGH! Damnable Micronians! I don't know where you found this abominable giant, but I'll be sure that this is the last time it interferes with my plans!" One arm tries to shove that bloody huge fist away while the other fires a laser shot straight for the Eva's head. It has teeth, it obviously must be where all the sensors are, right?
Khyron Kravshera gets a glancing blow on Shinji Ikari with his You Didn't Need Those Teeth Anyways jab.
Miriya manages to dodge this blast of jet wash, too, keeping her eyes on Roy's VF all the time. That Micronian is crafty; she has to hand it to him, he seems to know quite a bit about aerial tactics. But she won't let him get the best of her like that!
She swerves closer, close enough that for a second, Roy might get a glance through the glass of her cockpit. But it's tinted such that all he might make out is a humanoid face and a helmet, that's all. Before she swerves back again, she lets loose a stream of bullets aimed right for the VF.
Azonia, meanwhile, gawks. "What kind of Micronian monster is /that?!/"
Miriya Parino gets a glancing blow on Roy Fokker with her Sorry, Roy, Azonia is talking about Shinji attack.
Too close, and the trick didn't work. And that, unfortunately leads him to being open for the stream of fire. Grabbing the B switch, the pilot throws it upwards, transforming back into battloid mode, folding in on himself as he gets peppered.
As he unfolds, Roy guns the engines, diving forward at Miryia's mech. At first it seems like we was going to try to lead in with the right arm and throw a punch, but at the last second, Roy shifts the entire vehicle and tries to grab a hold of a seam in Miryia's armor and yank it away to give him an opening.
You miss Miriya Parino with your At VL, This Would Be The Firewire Special. Honk. attack.
Hey, cool, most people can't tell that Unit-01 has teeth untill it opens its facemask/mouth! Shinji is too busy going 'Oh /shit/.' to think much else because, well...he has no idea what'll set off the Berserker Mode. Its bad enough the other giant robot pilots already think he's a psycho...and, well, going nuts in space is probably a bad ide-
"Mhm mhaw!" Shinji shouts, holding his jaw shut so he doesn't accadentily bite his tounge-Eva-01's left arm copies the motion, holding that mask-mouth thing closed. Perhaps its a weak spot! Or its hiding something horrible. The Third Child focuses on keeping the faint echo of rage down, glad that the conditions in space seem to have dulled the presence in Unit-01...or his own mind...to a more manageable level.
However, since his arms are busy, Shinji's only left with one option. Rearing his head back, Ikari headbangs! Since Unit-01 echos its pilot's movements, this could be a lot more painful for Khyron than it sounds.
Shinji Ikari hits Khyron Kravshera with his Radical, dude! attack.
Yes, that was very painful. The armor takes a huge dent but doesn't break, which doesn't help Khyron who bounces around like a crash test dummy. "AR-AR-ARGH!" He's getting quite fond of that exclamation.
Still, it only takes the instant following his head clearing to sense the opportunity, and quick as a flash, the Backstabber makes sure that Shinji learns why its not nice to stick your head that close to the particle cannon! "Ha-ha! Now I have you!"
Khyron Kravshera gets a glancing blow on Shinji Ikari with his Hope Mom Stocked Up On Excedrin attack.
"Not so fast!" Miriya may have spoken that over a frequency, if it wasn't blocked out, but the voice thunders to the point of being unrecognizable over a radio. She pulls back, right out of the way, one of the "hands" on the Queadluun-Rau pulling back and trying to just plain slug the VF when it tries to grab at the armor. She won't let her precious suit take irreparable damage!
Because Zentraedi just don't know how to repair things.
Miriya Parino hits Roy Fokker with her HANDS OFF, BUB attack.
"Ooof!" Roy felt that one. Glancing at the controls as he watches some of them drop into the yellow, he frowns as he turns his Veritech to the side, considering his options. He could fly away. Or he could press the assault. Guess which one he does.
Skull One's Autocannon rises, swinging up at at Miriya, as he aims at the mecha, and then depresses the trigger, sending a stream of depleted uranium rounds outwards. "Draw." he comments flatly.
You critically strike Miriya Parino with your This is called Danger Stupid. attack.
He totaly does, too. "How many guns does that stupid thing have?!" Shinji squeaks in shock, right before ARGH MY HEAD-
Unit-01 is shoved back, freefalling and groping its arms lamely at the infinate nothing around it. The wings are out, the ATField's out, and Shinji's doubled over, holding his aching head. "N...no. Got to..." Shinji weakly grabs the control interface, tugging the thing to get the wings started again. "Come on..." Tug! The fire starts-and chokes back out again. "...WORK, DAMNIT!" As Shinji loses his temper, the machines comply-funny how often that works-and Eva Unit-01 eyes Khyron's ship with what only can be described as a /look/.
oh hell its eyes are glowing.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Shinji, beady eyed and bleeding out of his nose, screams a war cry, Unit-01 surges forward and he pulls his hands out to try and grasp Khyron's mech around the closest thing it has to a 'neck'. "RIP YOU IN HALF!" am i really saying this?
Shinji Ikari stuns Khyron Kravshera with his Anger Management action.
Let's see, there's two guns on the nose, two guns on each arm, a huge cannon on the back, plus missile ports and... Well, that's all irrelevant now, because Khyron finds himself unable to use any of them while in this death grip. Lights flash, klaxons go off, and through it all, its pilot is sweating uncontrollably in his helmet. "Impossible! Nothing can be -that- powerful!" Welcome to Denial, population: Khyron.
"-Lord Khyron!" Azonia stares in horror as the giant attacks Khyron's unit. They can't have some kind of monster that could kill the likes of Khyron Kravshera, do they?! Even if he is near-intolerable in his personality, he's one of the better clones they have!
As for Miriya, the Queadluun-Rau takes a heavy crack in its armor and sparks fly from it as the rounds pour into it, throwing it a considerable distance back and out of melee range entirely. "Damned Micronian! They're too clever...this one is, anyway. But I will not accept a loss so easily! I have not lost /yet!/"
She waits until she has the VF in her sight again, and then lets loose with multiple guns, all of them aimed right for Roy.
Miriya Parino hits Roy Fokker with her ALL THE GUNS attack.
The SDF-1 bridge crew is just staring at EVA-01.. though Claudia is worried about the man she's going to marry.
The blasts strike Roy's VT, pushing backwards from the other mecha. The armor around the arms and legs is chewed up, and they were a shot that came paticularly close to his cockpit area. She packs one hell of a punch, doesn't she? Skull Leader considers for a moment, then transforming into fighter, Roy seems to be streaking away from the battle..
That is, until he turns around, diving towards Miriya's Rau, and launching a whole load of missiles, sending them outwards in a massive, angry group of spirals and corkscrews.
You hit Miriya Parino with your Swarm of Angry Missiles, Away! attack.
Shinji Ikari doesn't /look/ like a shy, kind young man right now. He's got his mind on murder and murder on his mind! Indeed, the monsterous Unit-01 almost seems to growl, as he starts to puuuulllll and rrrriiiipppp and ooooh yeesssssss-
wait, no. This isn't me. This isn't me! "Wh..what am I..." Khyron might be able to hear, even, seeing as Shinji's kind of out of it and Unit-01's got a mike now. "...father...what is your machine doing to me...?" Shinji blinks, as if reality suddenly reassirted itself. The proper com comes back on. "S-sorry...but you need to...stop..."
Before I can't, he thinks, exhausted allready as he makes Unit-01 shove the robotic fighter the hell away.
Shinji Ikari critically strikes Khyron Kravshera with his BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GO-wait, what, no. attack.
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Roy Fokker says, "Shinji! What's your status over there?"
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Shinji Ikari growls! For a second. "s...s...s-sorry..." swollowing noises. "It hits hard...but I t-think I'm winning."
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Roy Fokker says, "Just watch out for the big gun on it's back. I don't know what the hell this is I'm again, but it's dangerous fast.,"
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Shinji Ikari says, "Man...lot of g-guns."
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Shinji Ikari, muttered, "Maybe they're compensating for s-something?"
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Roy Fokker says, "You can do it, Shinji. *laughs* Maybe."
Numerous warnings flash on Miriya's screen in the strange language of the Zentraedi, and she scowls. Her Quealduun-Rau has never taken so much damage! At this rate, she'll have to be given another.
Perhaps it would have been a /good idea/ for the Masters to teach the Zentraedi how to repair things, or at least, to make sure they didn't forget.
Luckily for Claudia, Miriya starts to pull back at this point, but stops. She'd be /losing!/ She can't lose! Losing is the worst shame she could possibly face!
And so, even with the damage she's taken, she swerves around again to fire at Roy with one of her cannons, eyes narrowed.
Miriya Parino critically strikes Roy Fokker with her I DO NOT GIVE UP PUNY SEVEN FOOT MAN attack.
There's an old Zentraedi saying: Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em. And when the alert goes off that the structural integrity of your officer's pod is -this- close to making you space debris, it might just be that time to fold 'em. "Accursed Micronians
It was leaving! It was freaking leaving! Roy was starting to make the turn to assist Shinji, when suddenly the whole undercarriage of the vehcile rocks and shudders with the hit it takes. Roy's able to keep it together, but only barely.
Turning the Skull One towards the SDF-1, he launches off a blast of undercarriage fire and missile at the strange new mecha as he starts to try to nurse his own vehicle back towards base.
You miss Miriya Parino with your All My Guns! attack.
MIRIYA GOT THE LAST SHOT IN! MIRIYA GOT THE LAST SHOT IN!
Of course, she would never think anything so childish. Really. Honest. But her pride does swell again as her damaged vehicle spins out of the way of Roy's missle attacks, finally turning and flying back to base. It's hard to track where she's going, except that there seem to be a few purple ships mixed in with Khyron's fleet. Funny, that.
Meanwhile, Azonia watches carefully. "I may have to report about this superweapon giant to Lord Dolza..."
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Amuro Ray says, "Shinji, you gonna be alright?"
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Amuro Ray says, "And you too, Commander?"
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Roy Fokker over rattling controls, and a buzzing control system, reading off a whole list of warnings and damage controls. "..Shinji, I'm going to have to limp her in. Cover me!"
When the alert goes off that the structural integrity of your officer's pod is -this- close to making you space debris, it might just be a good time to make a tactical withdrawal, review the battle footage, and figure out a better way of beating the big purple giant than taking it on mano-a-monster. It's totally not retreating, not at all. "Accursed Micronians! How -dare- you apologize to me," the Backstabber cries, pounding his fist into the control panel. "You will rue the day you crossed paths with Lord Khyron! Lady Azonia, cover our retreat! Oh, how I hate to lose!!!"
With a shaked and dented fist, the pod spins around and flies back towards the Gate along with the rest of the Botoru Battalion. You've won this time, Ikari, but next time...
Shinji Ikari blinks, as the Zentradi warlord bravely runs away.
And there's that /other/ one, who was sassing the commander. Well, Shinji has a /little/ pride as a pilot. Deep down, hidden under several layers of cowardice, father issues, and old PlayPenguin magazines. "Well...f-fine!"
Unit-01, who is large, purple, and /not/ a Zentradi, tries to finger-flick Miriya's ship. "...and t-that's f-from the Black Sheep Squaderon! Space jerks!"
Shinji Ikari misses Miriya Parino with his Flick feint.
"...AUGH!" A very alarmed Miriya swerves right away from that big finger-thing, and, well, she doesn't run away. Really. It's a tactical retreat. Nothing Scares Miriya Parino Especially Not Big Purple Micronian Monster.
She loves the color scheme, though.
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Shinji Ikari says, "We...did it!"
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Roy Fokker says, "Good job, Shinji."
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Amuro Ray says, "Wow, you guys are alright? I was worried!"
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Amuro Ray says, "I mean, um, congratulations!"
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Shinji Ikari says, "They...t-talk a lot."
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Roy Fokker says, "That they do. Can you land okay?"
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Shinji Ikari says, "I, uh."
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Shinji Ikari off-mike, "Can we?" A somewhat sultry voice says, "Probably!"
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Vanilla H says, "Did anyone suffer a serious injury?"
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Shinji Ikari says, "My nobe ib bleeding a little."
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Vanilla H says, "Was it from an injury?"
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Shinji Ikari says, "Sort of."
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Vanilla H says, "I will tend to it, if you wish, when you are safe."
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Shinji Ikari says, "I'm, uh, g-good. I think the SDF-1 guys might n-need you more."
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Vanilla H says, "Understood. I shall focus my effort there, then. Please tell me it's current location."
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Shinji Ikari says, "I'll, uh."
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Shinji Ikari sheepish, "I'm n-not sure. Commander?"
[Y-Black Sheep Squadron] Roy Fokker says, "Near Mars. We lost Red Four. Red Five is getting a tow in. I'll be able to limp home."
Note: Need tags for Khyron Kravshera and Miriya Parino, thanks.
