Kitty Pryde at Budehuc! :D

Jun 05, 2006 18:52

WHO: Kitty Pryde, Thomas
WHEN: Another day... (June 5)
WHERE: in Budehuc
WHAT: Kitty shows up at the castle! Dragon attacks Puppies! And a tour after all that.
WATCH FOR: Lockheed divebombing, animal conversations, etc.

It seems to be another peaceful day at Budehuc Castle if one doesn't count the
sounds of rennovation, shopping, and busy street marketing going on. As per
usual, everyone is doing their part for this place. Here, Thomas just came back
from taking his break, brushing his brown bangs back to the sides of his face.
He sighs, knowing that his schedule is still not finished yet. It'll be until
sundown when he does get a rest.

Kitty Pryde hasn't been in this particular side of the gate for very long - in
fact, it hasn't even been a day. Why she passed through, when most would steer
clear due to the unknown? Her natural insatiable curiosity of course. So when
she stumbled upon the site of what appeared to be a somewhat run down area,
undergoing repairs and renovations as it was, the first thing out of her mouth
is not, 'Where the he-- am I?' but: "I don't think we're in Westchester
anymore, Toto."
There is a snort from the dragon on her shoulder, his tail wrapped securely
around her throat. Kitty casts him an annoyed glance, "Like you could do
better? I don't think so." She looks thoughtful for a moment, then glances at
the dragon, "We don't know what the locals are like here, so you should
probably stay out of sight. Don't go too far." She braces herself just long
enough for the dragon to launch himself off of her shoulders, wingbeats
carrying him upwards into the sky to quickly get out of sight. Look ma, I'm
just a pretty purple birdie!
Thusly unburdened, Kitty shoulders her bag and sets off towards the noise. Just
an ordinary girl in an ordinary place in an ordinary day! .. right?

Right. Maybe.

Thomas checks with how the crops and stuff are doing so far. Seeing that there
aren't any weeds to pull, he walks onward, going towards the entrance. At the
front lines, Cecile and her puppy unit are doing their part as they observe the
borders...well, she is. The dogs are just...wandering.

"Cecile, why don't you take a break? You've been there since this morning,"
Thomas calls out to her as he walks closer. "Oh no, Master Thomas! I'm fine!
I've been doing this a lot, you know!" Cecile cheerily replies, waving around
her spear. Out of the corner of her eye, she thinks she spots someone outside
of the castle's boundaries before deciding to turn all the way.

And maybe, just maybe, Kitty will have a -normal- day for once! Not that she
begrudges her powers or anything. .. and oh my god, PUppy unit! Is that not the
cutest thing ever?
Unless we're talking rabid, salivating attack on sight puppy unit. Then that's
much less adorable and goes more into the Ohgodrunforyourlives area.
Hearing voices and construction going on the further she wanders, Kitty,
penultimate tourist, callously breaks every tresspassing rule known to man by
tromping along the path towards the castle boundaries. She probably should be
more cautious about her approach, but .. well, hindsight is always 20/20 as
they say!
Spying someone just ahead, her casual trot becomes a bit more brisk with a
slight bounce in her step, riiiight up until she spots the spear, where the
girl almost literally stops on a dime, flailing a bit out of balance and
hesitating, "Hello..?" She lifts both hands in a 'I am harmless, don't attack
me' manner. Oh, and please don't sic your dogs on me either.

The puppies take notice, too, but they seem happy. They won't bite, really!
They're cuddly! CUUUUUUUUUTE. Koroku, the leader of the bandana'd pups, barks.
Cecile turns from the castle master, leaning on the spear she wields. Seeing
that Kitty's not armed or anything like that, she smiles brightly, dropping her
shield and waving to her. "Hi! Welcome to Budehuc!" She yells - right next to
Thomas' ear. Ow.

Thomas puts a hand to his head as the volume readjusts, looking at Cecile and
then to where Kitty stands. "Oh, h-hello...Ah, it's all right. Cecile's just
keeping watch. We're...pretty harmless here." Ah yes, nice wording, Thomas.
Well, visitors come and go at times - this is one of them.

GASP! CUTE and Cuddly! Those are two of Kitty's favorite words! Especially when
applied to animals. And they wear bandanas. Augh, if Kitty could get a closer
look she would die of cuteness overload. .. ... .. and then she'd have to spoil
her jealous little dragon. Aware that the hell was right next to the poor man's
head, Kitty sympathy winces, and lowers her hand. "Ah! Then it's nice to meet
you both," Kitty continues her forward march up till the last few paces, and
glances around, "You're keeping watch? For what, exactly..?" Oh lord Kitty, did
you stumble across a place that was in the middle of a war? Nice timing Pryde!
...but they have cute bandanna'd puppies!

It's all right - everyone's allowed to have a cute meltdown! Um... Cecile
perks. "Oh - I'm the head of the guard here! It's my duty to protect the castle
and the castle master from anything that might be in opposition!" Yes, the
helmeted girl is quite enthusiatic about her job.

Thomas laughs weakly, patting Cecile on the shoulder. "Um, well, she's been
doing this before I even came here. Lately, nothing has been happening of
late...which is a good thing..." He shakes his head, smiling awkwardly. "I'm
Thomas, and you already know this is Cecile," the youth says, nodding as Cecile
smiles cutely, "and this is the puppy unit that goes everywhere here."

Oh good! Kitty grins at Cecile's perkiness - she kind of reminded Kitty of an
old friend that she went to school with. Folding her hands behind her back, she
glances over her shoulder, then around, pondering a nice discreet way of asking
about what happened. Then she looks back towards Thomas, grinning widely,
"Enthusiasm's not a bad thing," unless she has a habit of leaping into
situations without thinking and getting herself in trouble. *keff*
"I'm Kitty!" As soon as the words leave her mouth, she grimaces, "I mean,
Kate." A slight roll of her eyes. "But I usually answer to Kitty." Anything but
Katherine. She hated being called Katherine. It made her feel old and stodgy.
Glancing down to the puppy unit next, she squeals softly, "Oh gosh - they're so
cute!" Must.. restrain.. urge to cuddle..!

Koroku yaps happily as the others look at her as well, wagging their tails at
different rates. Thomas chuckles. "Well, Kate's a nice name..."

He thinks about it. If he calls her Miss Kitty, it would sound normal, but to
him and whatever he went up against in previous outside-of-Budehuc meetings, he
might not feel too comfortable with the nick.

Before he can say another word, Cecile pipes up again. "Yes they are, aren't
they?! Oh, go ahead! They like being petted!" The head of the guard proceeds to
pet one of them - the white one. A black one stands on hind legs, panting and
pawwing the air playfully.

Then Thomas starts again. "Eh...you don't mind if I just call you Miss Kate, do
you?"

Kitty Pryde grins at the compliment. Truthfully she didn't mind being called
Kitty, but she was going on 19 soon - she'd have to give up the 'childish'
nickname eventually, right? Of course, the only way that'd happen is if she
flat out told people, 'never call me Kitty' and she answers to Kitty far too
often for that to happen. Not to mention she's much too nice to do that. "I
really can?" Kitty grins at Cecile's permission, and wastes no time in kneeling
on the ground to coo at the black one.
So. So. CUTE. She makes assorted muted squeals and happy noises as she lavishes
affection upon the puppy, almost missing Thomas' question, so wrapped up in
puppycuteness was she. "Um!" Kitty blushes sheepishly, though she abruptly
glances skywards for a moment, distracted. "No no, I don't mind at all. Or just
plain Kate is fine too."
Meanwhile, high above the heads of the local, a little purple dragon is getting
jealous. >.< There are four footed canines gettin the attention and affection
-he- rightfully deserves from his human! The nerve!

Oh, so Kitty is older than Thomas, too. Just as long as Cecile's here, then
everything's okay! Heh. "Go ahead!" nods Cecile as the black pup (whose name is
forgotten at the moment) nuzzles into the pats and cooing and lovey stuff,
happy.

Thomas, on the other hand, doesn't really mind being ignored at times - it
happens often to him. At his appearance, one usually doesn't see him as castle
master material. He snaps back to attention when she responds. "Oh, all right
then, Kate." He can do first name basis, too! How flexible! And the four out of
five puppies loveys the attention. The fifth - Koroku - looks up into the sky,
sensing a strange reptile jealousy...whoa.

Nonetheless, Kitty would feel bad about ignoring him. If she weren't being
UNFAITHFUL to her dragon! - okay not really, but the little dragon is a tad bit
possessive; and why not? They did share a strong, unbreakable bond from all the
years they've been together, and while Lockheed knows Kitty would never abandon
him (it'd be as bad as ripping her own heart out!), he still doesn't like
seeing her pay attention to other cute things. Or the opposite sex for that
matter.
Though he was told to stay out of sight, the little dragon starts to circle
lower, not quite in sight, but seriously considering dive bombing to lay claim
to what was his! Hmf!
"I've never had dogs myself, but I always thought they were adorable.
Especially these!" God they're so cute! She leans down a little, though she
only has two hands and four puppies to cuddle - however will she manage?
"Right!" Kitty looks up, flashing a bright grin at Thomas, "Anyway.. stop me if
I'm being rude or something, but.. what happened here?" By 'here' she of
course, means the construction going on, gesturing with her head to include her
surroundings, since her hands are occupied.
And what's that fifth puppy so interested in all of a sudden..?

Ah, so that's how it is. Interesting. And if Lockheed does decide to do
something, he has many targets to aim for. Thomas nods, understanding what
Kitty meant by her being rude and all, then gestures towards the manor and
plaza area. "The castle has been run down for many years. We only started to
rennovate recently. As you can see, it's sort of slow...but we still have
business going on here. This place is a free-trading zone for anyone,
anywhere." He taps a finger to his lip. "In fact, I think we're going to try
expanding our trading grounds to anyone outside the Gate."

And yes, the Koroku puppy is still looking around. Where is that feeling coming
from?! Bark woof.

"Oh wow-" Kitty, still unaware of her dragon's heightening jealousy, glances
around again, one hand resting on a puppy head each. "Looks like you guys have
a lot of work ahead of you." Sympathy there. She's no mason or anything, but
god knows the Institute got destroyed enough time for her to know what kind of
work goes into repairs. And this was a /castle/. Hrm. "Well you know, I'm going
to be in the area for a while yet," she still wanted to look around some,
"Could you use an extra ha-"
What she was going to say, was 'hand'. Alas, she doesn't have a chance to
finish her sentence, as the little dragon, finally irked by by the attention he
was missing out on, comes darting down towards the ground, not aiming to
actually harm any of the puppies, but more to scatter them. Away you furbags!
Away! That's /my/ pet human!

Ahh! The puppies run and bark, dashing about. Thomas gets freaked out by the
sudden surprise as Cecile yipes too, reacting just as fast.

"Oh no! Master Thomas - get down!" The girl 'protects' the castle master by
jumping on top of him, knocking the both of them to the ground. Koroku barks
and growls at the flying purple thing, standing his small ground while the
others start to get into their formation. Flying V! Waitaminute.

No! Puppies! Kitty at first is startled by the sudden chaos that hits - first a
blur of light purple swoops down, scattering the adorable puppies she had been
petting. Then Cecile tackles Thomas to the ground, and Kitty jerks backwards,
startled herself, her hands planting against the ground behind her. "What th-"
The blur zooms past again, this time angling to land directly in front of
Kitty, wings still outstretched in an aggressive manner as the little dragon
growls right back at Koroku. Oh yah? Oh YAH? Bring it on, pup, I'll make ya a
hot dog! And I don't mean to eat! Grr Grr!!

Koroku barks back as the rest of them also start to bark. Oh, let's see you try
doin' that, then, punk! Growlgrowlwoof! Thomas moans from the tackle as Cecile
looks up at where the pups and Kitty are. "Watch it! What is it?!?" Oh dear.

First Kitty puts her hands to her ears at the barking, then looks towards
Thomas and Cecile at the moan and the following question. "Ah -" Right about
now she wishes she could sink into the ground and just DIE. .. well technically
she can.. but that's a little overdramatic. "I'm -really- sorry about this,"
Kitty smiles weakly at Cecile and Thomas, then looks sharply towards the dragon
a he begins to hop towards Koroku. "Oh no you don't!"
She -lunges- forward, grabbing the dragon and yanking him backwards. "What's
the matter with you? I told you stay out of sight!" Bad dragon! No hugs for
you! She tucks the dragon against her chest, cradling him with one arm to make
sure he doesn't try going after the pups again, even though he makes evil eyes
at Koroku and his possee, hissing. You got off easy this time, mutts! I'm
WATCHING you!
"Is he okay?" She motions to Thomas, "You tackled him pretty hard." Eheh. She
pokes the dragon in the back, "This is Lockheed.. my dragon."

Still on the ground, Thomas is coherent enough to wave a hand at Kitty.
"....no...no problem, really...agh..."

"Oh! I'm sorry, Master Thomas!! Here," Cecile hops up quickly as she grabs the
hand that waves, pulling him up gently. Koroku glares at Lockheed in return,
still growling deeply as the others lessen their own defense. Kroku also sends
a mesage back: That was uncalled for, lizard! You should watch yourself too!

"Ah, Master Thomas will be all right. I tackle him most of the time," Cecile
replies casually as her head looks back at Kitty and the dragon. She blinks
before scurrying over to look at Lockheed closer. "Ooooh...how neat!"

Poor Thomas! Kitty spends the first few minutes trying to get the dragon's
attention, whilst Lockheed glare glares at Koroku. It would injure his
draconic pride to back down now! "Lockheed, -enough!-" Kitty hoists the little
dragon and turns him, adding a small shake so that he has to look at her. "And
looking cute at me is not going to get you out of trouble this time," Kitty
adds, resting the dragon on her lap. "Jealousy .. honestly, you're ridiculous
sometimes." She absently brushes her hand over the dragon's leathery back,
glancing towards Celine in surprise at the comment.
Somehow, she manages not to burst into giggles, "Then he's used to that sort of
thing huh? Well.. the being tackled, not the dragon divebombing thing. Lockheed
gets a little jealous when I pay attention to other animals." She's relieved
that these two - or at least Celine - has accepted Lockheed's presence rather
easily - maybe there are others of his kind in this world?
For his part, Lockheed glances at Celine for a long moment, and utters a
curious, crooning purr at her words. That's right, he is great! He is awesome!
He is the best dragon there ever was! Wanna join my harem?
PFft. Like he had a harem.

Yes, yes - Thomas is abused in such ways that he gets use to it. The youth gets
to his feet, rubbing his head. "A dragon..." he murmurs, looking over to where
the girls sat. First, let's get the puppies to stop. He gets their attention by
kneeling down and shaking each of them. "Hey, come on, stop. Look, it's okay
now..." Koroku gives one last sharp glance at Lockheed before barking once to
get the puupies out of formation. What a commander.

The boy walks over to the girls once again. "Uh, I hope that everything's all
right now...the puppies don't usually do that..." Cecile blinks at Thomas. "Ah,
it's okay now, Master Thomas! Maybe it was just a little spat between
strangers!" How right she can be at times.

Poor guy; you can't help but feel bad for him! Kitty is relieved when the
puppies stop barking both due to Thomas' efforts and for Koroku's efforts. As
much as she adores the little yappers, they have some /shrill/ barks. @.@
"That's okay, it was entirely my fault." Well.. Lockheed's, but Kitty considers
his bad behavior as her problem too. "Lockheed," Kitty sets the dragon down,
"Stop playing casanova for a second," she grins wryly, tapping the dragon on
the nose, "Say you're sorry." To the puppies , or to Thomas? Maybe both.
Lockheed doesn't seem to want to say sorry though, as he sits primly, wings
folded back. He glances once towards the puppies, particularly their commander,
and turns his head away, with an almost audible 'HMF!'. Kitty inwardly sighs.
"Lockheed, don't be difficult!" What a brat. Waving her hand in a dismissive
manner, Kitty glances at Koroku again, "Your puppies are pretty smart -
particularly that one." She says to Thomas and Cecile next, "Have you trained
them long?"

"No, it's fine, Kate. No need, really." The castle master shrugs as Cecile
giggles. Koroku sits still, eyes glancing back and forth from Thomas and Cecile
to Kitty and Lockheed. "And yes, they tend to be...he opens doors," Thomas nods
and mentions, patting Koroku on the head. "The first time he did it, it scared
me. Then he did it again and again..."

And with Lockheed being a cassanova of sorts, it's very wrong. At least, Thomas
doesn't really understand how that works...he doesn't want to know.

Kitty Pryde says, "Really?" Kitty is admittedly surprised - she'd thought they
were rather normal puppies. These perhaps, are a rather special type of dog. Or
just really really REALLY smart. "I guess it would be a little startling the
first few times," she grins at the mental image of seeing the puppy open the
door. DOors of course, are not an obstacle to her - heck, sometimes she forgets
to use doors at all.
It /is/ wrong if it ever went beyond him being utterly adorable and cooing at
any pretty female he happened to see. Well not /any/ pretty female. He is a one
mutant dragon, of course. A one mutant dragon that happens to like getting
cuddled. So not only is he a brat, he's a /spoiled/ brat. A spoiled brat that
doesn't like competition for that matter. "Anyways," Kitty glances at Thomas,
"Before we got interrupted, I was going to offer helping out with renovations
or clean up while I'm .. here." She might move on before long, just to explore
a bit more, but there was no harm in helping out with renovations. Even if she
did wish she had a power that would be more useful - like, say, super strength,
or optic blasts, or something. Ah well."

Ahh another one who wants to help Budehuc! Thomas waves both hands this time,
smiling awkwardly again. "Ah! N-no, you don't have to help, really! You should
enjoy yourself while you're here!" Cecile nods happily while attempting to pat
the dragon on the head. The boy continues. "There are many shops and activities
to do. So please, go on ahead, Kate. This was just...strange, but still.
Nothing wrong."

Koroku tilts his head at Cecile's attempt. What the.

Lockheed is pleased as punch at the pat on the head, crooning smugly? Yes,
SMUGLY! In fact, the dragon even flicks his tongue out briefly. Did he just
give the draconic version of a raspberry? .. And to make matters worse, he did
it right at Koroku. THPPPT!
Kitty bites her lower lip as she watches the interaction between Cecile and
Lockheed, inwardly chuckling. Geez. Back to Thomas! "I know I don't have to,"
she smiles, "But I know that it takes a lot of work to do something of this
scale, and I thought you could use the extra help," unless they already have a
lot of people helping as is. Shops and activities? She certainly wasn't adverse
to a little R&R. As for Strange? Well.. yeah, a dragon divebombing out of
nowhere would definitely classify as strange. ^^;

Koroku grrs at this smugness from the dragon, but keeps his position, eyeing
the flying reptile warily. Thomas gives a nice type of half-smile. "Heh. I
guess, if you really want to help out or anything, feel free to do so. But yes,
I'd rather you go explore first. There's much to see." Which reminds him - he
needs to do what he does! Oh no! Off schedule! Bad boy! The youth blinks and
suddenly panics. "Oh! I-I gotta go! I forgot that I was doing something!"
Thomas bows hurriedly. "I'm so sorry that I have to leave! Uh, Cecile!"

"Yes, Master Thomas?"

"Show Kate around. I'm sure she'll like that."

"Okay!"

Ooooo, yer gonna get in troublllleee! Or maybe not. Kitty is surprised by
Thomas's sudden hurried reaction, looking more or less embarassed that she'd
taken him away from his duties. But there is no time to apologize for that,
because he's already getting ready to hurry off. She brightens at the
suggestion that Cecile show her around (she'd probably get lost or wind up
somewhere she shouldn't otherwise), and scoops Lockheed into her arms, "Stop
taunting the puppy." She scolds the dragon, who climbs up onto her shoulders
and coils around cozy-like.
Kitty leans forward to ruffle Koroku's fur and give him a scritch at the throat
before she turns towards Cecile. She'll do as Thomas suggests, and explore a
bit, maybe shop - but after that she'll at least help out a /little/ with the
renovations. Tis only fair!

It's not like Thomas wants to leave! He'd show her around himself if he had
time! But - a castle master's work is never done. Cecile nodnods to Kitty,
leaning on her spear again while rocking back and forth on her heels. "It's all
right - he understands! And plus, this will be really fun! You'll like the
place." With that, she starts walking, beckoning Ms. Pryde.

Koroku is happy with the skriches and is satisfied enough to bark an order to
the rest of them, signaling them to go back to their original positions around
the castle grounds. Good boy!

Kitty Pryde glances over her shoulder with a grin as she watches the pups go
back to their posts. Lockheed is content enough to have -his- claimed spot
again, enough that he doesn't even glare over his own shoulder at the fuzzy
interlopers. The dragon fairly drapes himself around Kitty's neck like a
reptilian stole, while the girl quickly follows after Cecile, "I'm glad he
does. I was worried I might have been horribly rude or something, y'know?" She
lifts a hand, tucking a strand of hair behind an ear, "This place is really
beautiful though." Even with the debris and suchlike!

Cecile giggles again. "Don't worry - it's fine! I think you're a nice person!
And yeah - Budehuc is very comfortable." The two might even get to know each
other a little better on the tour as Thomas runs about again.

"Thank you Cecile," Kitty grins, "We think you two are very nice as well," of
course, by 'we' she means herself and Lockheed, and not the royal 'we'. Because
Kitty as royalty is silly. "Everything's going to look fantastic when the
renovations are complete," she doesn't have to have seen it before it got
damaged to know that. "I'll have to come back here when it's all repaired, to
see it for myself." Maybe she should start carrying a digital camera so she can
catalogue the sights she's seen.
Nonetheless, there are no further incidents; no reasons for jealous dragons to
dive bomb adorable puppies, no falling rocks, no Kitty's falling through walls
or floors - just two young woman going on a tour, seeing the sights and in
general having a good ol' time. (While poor Thomas is off doing hard work.
Ain't that always the way?) By the time the tour concludes a few hours later,
Kitty excuses herself, wanting to get some rest, but promising to return later
the following day - or the day after, to help with the work.
