[LOG] Kenpachi's First Outing

May 13, 2006 02:51

WHO: Kenpachi Zaraki, Scar
WHERE: Somewhere in Amestris
WHEN: 18/4/2006 (Yeah, it's a bit late.)
WHAT: Kenpachi gets lost. Lands in Amestris. Fighting Ensues.
WATCH FOR: How to make street pizza!

There's been a fair amount of activity in the surrounding areas. Scar has been unusually active from some unknown catalyst; It has again become bad enough that patrols and searches are done in threes at minimum, and some have whispered whether the Fuhrer himself might be in danger. Any casual civilian now knows of the Alchemist Killer 'Scar'; And being unaware that he only kills State Alchemists in his world, many are paranoid to no end. This particular town is a market niche, a long train from Central. And the bustle has fallen, and everyone's eyes are accusing. Despite being dressed in a heavy parka with hood and sunglasses, which fit the intense heat, it's hard to continue moving and avoid drawing undue attention. His tactics are going to have to change... Before long the other worlds might have a hand in this society's safety...

Well, what do you know. Another world may be causing damage to this one's safety already. Because there is something moving at high speed towards the town. What most people see is just dustclouds getting kicked up by nothiong, and the oocaisoional thing in the path of the dust being destroyed.

A certain few, though, may spot a man with bizarre hair, weairing black and white, and a small pink haired girl, wearing black, moving towards the city at speeds that are generally not considered humanly possible.

"Oi! Yachiru! Are you sure we're going the right way?"

"Of course! We went through that portal, and then the school should be up ahead! ....Or maybe it was the THIRD portal!"

"ARGH! Damnit! We'll never find Ichigo at this rate!"

He shows no sign of slowing down, as he continues towards the hapless town.

There's a good few shouts of alarm at the incoming bullet, caught in the distance by people farming the inner area. A rapidly approaching dustball like that is certainly unexpected. It doesn't take long for Scar to meander to the edge, climbing atop a nearby building and squinting. He can pick out the pair of people that seem to be making the central anamoly, really -- although he does nothing to hail or outright stop them, despite being in the immediate path and immediate view...

Well .That was a silly idea, as Kenpachi continues dead on his path, not caring for things such as vertical surfaces, as he simply runs up them, over them, and down them again. He's trying to cause as little ruckus as he can. But that doesn't mean he's going to stop on his most direct course, now does it? No. Of course not. And his lieutenant isn't going to point out anyone in the way to Kenpachi. Msot have the sense to get out of thye weay of a possible ordinance weapon.

This means, of course, he runs the risk of trampling Scar. Such is life.

You get a glancing blow on Scar with your The Twelve O'Clock To Karakura jab.

The fact that Kenpachi doesn't seem apt to stop is seen a few moments too late. Scar does hop to the side, but not before being rather heavily clipped for his troubles with a grunt. But Scar immediately lances out with his right hand, attempting to grasp Kenpachi by the forearm. It's a smooth and impossibly fast motion for anyone vaguely human, but even if it fails there shouldn't be any more doubt that he tried. Well-braced, there's a good chance he might be able to stop the run with only a few-meter slide backwards and grunt of discomfort. "What are you doing?!" is hissed out, in a thoroughly admonishing manner.

Scar successfully targets Kenpachi Zaraki with his *grab* action.

Well, well, well. A human succesfully grabbing a Death God. Impressive. Kenpachi stops out of choice more than anything else, giving that Scar would probably be off the building before Kenpachi stopped otherwise. Yachiru, however, is the one to pipe up. "Ken-Chan's on an important mission and this was the quickest way there!" Yes. Important mission.

And by that we mean fighting Ichigo. Still, he turns to look down at the man, being at least half a foot taller than the other man, not counting the hair, as he halfheartedly attempts to break the grab.

The little girl, however, jumps off Kenpachi's shoulder. "So, unless you want to fight, you'd better let Ken-Chan be on his way!"

Scar's eyes widen upon the grasp; He wasn't fully aware he could see the likes of a Death God, let alone touch one. He does take a few steps backwards, finally releasing Kenpachi with a hard look within those crimson eyes. There's no sign of fear or even apprehension. The sort of stout, bull-headed defensive manner that a large bulldog might hold. "What business brings you to Amestris?" Once more Scar maneuvers slowly to the side, stance fairly defensive and right hand loose. It sounds more accusing then being a genuine question. The little girl is thoroughly ignored, at least. Scar flexes his hand anew. "I do not take kindly to destructive and violent outsiders in my world..."

Kenpachi Zaraki grins. It is a smug grin. A grin of someone who knows he's about to start a fight and he'll be damned if he's not going to enjoy every single second of it. He shoulders his Zanpakuto, as he looks down on Scar. "Took a wrong turn at Albequerqe." And now he simply waits for the first attack to come. It should be soon.

The comment doesn't particularly annoy Scar. He just seems to be more exasperated that things have taken this turn once more. Believing that it might be more prudent to show that Scar is by no means a miniscule fighter -- and that he's more then able of actually touching the Death God -- there's a burst of speed transient of what any living human should be capable of. Scar's right hand strikes out, attempting to catch Kenpachi by the throat and in a vicious forward arc drive him the precarious edge of the building... If the lunging grapple succeeds, Kenpachi'd only remain upright due to Scar's grip. Of course, the impact and thereafter squeeze is still far from painless. "My crusade might be to destroy the heart of Alchemy... But still I will defend my world against arrogant outsiders. If your mission involves shattering a man's farm and scaring the citizens... Then you have no place here!"

Scar gets a glancing blow on Kenpachi Zaraki with his Get A Grip jab.
You take 19 damage.

Fine. Kenpachi is grabbed. And choked. But there are advantages to not needing to breathe. "Nothing like that, I'm afraid. In fact, I already told you I was lost. But you jsut decided to make this interesting."

And suddenly, Kenpachi's sword swings round, not caring that he's on the edge of a building he could, in many cases, simply cut down. However, the plan is simple. Cut at the arm that's holding Kenpachi by his neck, and then follow through with a slash across the front.

You get a glancing blow on Scar with your Leggo My Necko attack.

Retracting the arm rather swiftly, Scar evades the initial swing of the blade before being unable to maneuver back quick enough for the second. He's cut along the chest, rather cleanly and exposing the lean flesh beneath. "So you bolt around, heedless of the safety of others and their property?!" Scar states, spitting to the side. "What is this city to you in your quest... an inconvenience?" Arcing down, Scar then maneuvers forward. Two stout blows are thrown towards Kenpachi's side, before a more significant blow -- an alchemic imbued strike with his right arm, intending to smack the Death God off the building. And prove that Scar can not only sense spirits, but significantly damage them! "You are indeed lost... Would you like me to guide you to the light?" A crackle of red flows up Scar's arm at that.

Scar critically strikes Kenpachi Zaraki with his Harsh Negotiation attack.
You take 25 damage.

As Kenpachi is sent flying, he vanishes. Sure, it hurts, but rather more, he laughs. "Hrmph. Nice try. But it's a stupid idea to try and send the reapers to their fates." He lands behind Scar, on the building. He honestly isn't too surprised at the force of the attacks. It just makes it more fun for Kenpachi. "Your turn." And suddenly, Kenpachi launches a barrage of swings at Scar, the aim to send him off the edge, to see if he can teleport. Otherwise, well, it could end badly.

You get a glancing blow on Scar with your How To Make Street Pizza: Part One: The Sauce attack.

The swift onslaught of attacks is rather impressive. Scar brings up his forearms, rolling with the majority and then sliding to a stop just at the edge of the building. He teeters with a solid bodyshot, but Kenpachi wasn't quite able to knock him off. "Reaper?" Scar asks, seeming to be geniunely curious despite the brawl taking place. Slipping, he doesn't use his poor leverage to assault; Instead he drops down to a crouch and places his palm upon the ground right before Kenpachi. There's a sudden crackle as stone splits, red light pouring out. After a momentary warble, the majority of the roof detonates in a cataclysmic manner. The orb of crimson light flies high into the sky, crackling and sending hunks of stone raining on the thankfully empty street. Is it contradicting to start a fight with someone to defend a city then blow up a roof? That's the question of the day, really. "Haaaaaaaa!"

Scar misses Kenpachi Zaraki with his Localyzed Catastrophe super.

The only problem with that is that Kenpachi has a speed that is, roughly, 'yes'. Telporting from the roof and coming behind Scar in mid-air, as he swings round with his sword. "As in a soul reaper. Sending the ghosts." Well, he can give some information to the man he's going to kill. "Zaraki Kenpachi. Remember that name." And the Slash goes through, aiming to drop Scar straight to the ground.

You get a glancing blow on Scar with your How To Make Street Pizza: Part Two: Adding The Toppings attack.

The sword only nicks Scar, but it forces him to drop to the street. This is a conscious measure, making the heavy grunt from him landing a good bit muffled then he would otherwise get. "A reaper of souls... Then we might have something in common..." Scar comments, glancing to his right hand before dabbing at his cheek. A long red line flows into being, where the sword got quite the lick in. "You may call me... Scar." He then lightly grazes the remains of the building beside. A long, jagged line arcs up with a heavy crescendo before a powerful, focused detonation takes place where Kenpachi presently hovers. He's not nearly as crippled via distance as people are apt to believe!

Scar misses Kenpachi Zaraki with his Collateral Damage attack.

Kenpachi is, however, rather intensely crippled by distance, which is why he keeps teleporting so close to the alchemist killer. Like he does when the crimson line heads towards him, landing on the ground, putting a large amount of Reiatsu into his blade. "I just think it's important to know the name of the man who's going to defeat you." And with that, he slashes out with the sword filled with spiritual energy. My word that's alot.

You miss Scar with your How To Make Street Pizza: Part Three: Bake For Twenty To Thirty Milliseconds super.

However, Scar should not underestimate Kenpachi any more then the other should. Two legendary fighters might be meeting on the random winds of fate, but that does not make the fight any less climatic. Rushing to the side, the blast of flame slithers just past Scar, brightly flaring around his figure and scorching his clothing. But he then manages to leap overhead, closing the gap anew and then dropping down with a loud snarl. His right hand maneuvers to grasp Kenpachi by the face, and then drive him into the ground. What would follow is a few pulses of alchemic destruction, as easily able to rend spirit as flesh. Regardless of hit or miss, the ground shudders and splits beneath the titanic assault. "I will end your existance..." Scar offers, quite calmly. His arm seems to now sing, thousands of souls in tandem that have been trapped inside. "...I will take all of them in... All of them!"

Scar misses Kenpachi Zaraki with his Total Annihilation attack.

And now the ground is ripped up. That could be bad.

And then Kenpachi sees the arm. And he grins.

"Really now?

Suddenly, Kenpachi rushes foward, with one intent...

To drive his Zanpakuto, the Soul-Cutting Sword, The Blade That Sends Souls To The After Life...

Right into Scar's singing arm.

You hit Scar with your Soul Burial attack.

The tip of the sword sinks into Scar's forearm. The result is instant, and might be far more terrible then the pair would have expected. Scar's tattoo blazes as bright as a sun, almost greater then can be seen. There's a howl of pain, but Kenpachi will know now that... Something is wrong with the souls inside. They are not just trapped beings. They are -- changed. Modified. Impartial. ...Components. This is many times worse then most would dare think possible, but it does at least herald that they are not going to heaven quite so simply. Rearing his arm back, Scar is panting, looking to be near manic. The glow has not abated. Kenpachi might not have sucked them out, but he... woke them, to use a proper term. "Yrrrrraaaaagh!!" Scar flashes forward, his speed significantly bolstered by the partially activated stone. It almost appeared to be teleportation itself. And that crackling arm now snaps out, trying to grasp Kenpachi by the sword-wielding wrist... And the other grasp his face, to squeeze hard enough to crack any living skull in a neatly blinding manner.

Scar misses Kenpachi Zaraki with his Delayed Execution stun.

The eleventh division captain is not normally terrifically good at noticing things like this. His spiritual senses are roughly those of a stump.

But sometimes, he notices when something is screwed the hell up. This is one of those times.

"That bastard Aizen would LOVE to get his hands on you."

Kenpachi easily evades, as it appears he too has been holding back, sword coming down to catch Scar's arm, before taking the opportunity to bring his foot up to kick Scar in the chin, and potentially send him flying. Kenpachi is flowing with much, much more energy than he was before.

You hit Scar with your Boot To The Head attack.

The kick does indeed impact Scar rather hard, sending him stumbling away. But he immediately turns around, arm continuing to crackle in what seems to be an uncomfortable display. It's as if he has far more then he knows what to do with. The souls scream to be released. That much was accomplished. However, there's only one way for Scar to do that... And that one way is decidedly destructive. Scar slaps his palm upon the ground, spreading his stance. Spatters of blood fall upon his glowing fingers, sizzling away. Immediately the ground begins to shudder, cracks forming. Glass shatters in a nearby street. Scar is surrounded by a swirling aura of intensely destructive alchemic energy, eyes lidding as he begins to channel all of the excess he's accumilated into one use.

What follows next makes it certain that Kenpachi just running through would of been the best scenario. A pillar of alchemic energy flashes up into the sky, easily fifty feet wide. All matter within it is disintegrated to nothing more then apparent dust; Stone and metal alike. It lingers for a solid five seconds before abruptly vanishing... Revealing there to be a perfect, smooth hole where Scar was, as if some celestial round pillar wedged out a part of the universe.
Breathing heavily, Scar stands up and teeters away before impacting the alley wall and sliding to his feet. He's disoriented, weakened, and in both mental and physical pain. Something like that has never happened... How many souls were destroyed in that transmutation...?

Scar misses Kenpachi Zaraki with his Armageddon super.

Unfortunately for Scar, Kenpachi is still standing there. And there's something different. He's not wearing his eyepatch. And his energy has increased to extreme levels. "Sorry. That wasn't enough." Kenpachi's raw power seems to have increased several times now, as he places the spirit eating eyepatch aside. There is a reason this man is scary. And this is it.

And suddenly any space between Scar aand Kenpachi is gone, as Kenpachi's sword swings round, with more power than it did before. It's like fighting a being made of Raw Power. "No more holding back."

You switch armor modes to Eyepatch Off.

You miss Scar with your If you wanna see some action... attack.

The sword is ducked beneath, managing to strike out a rather large section of the wall right where Scar stood. He might have lost his own surge of ability, but that does not matter in terms of one thing; He is still entirely able to destroy anything he touches. Leaping forward, he attempts to grasp Kenpachi by the hand, once more tapping into his own souls. Although he might be nowhere near Kenpachi's strength, the sudden surge of alchemic energy is certainly off the charts. The attempt is to actually break that damnable sword -- and worst of all, Scar is very able to damage or destroy transient, phantom or purely magical artifacts. The result of such might be just as interesting as attempting to cast Scar's souls back to heaven... But he's no longer the crusader. He's trying to survive, as it is!

Scar hits Kenpachi Zaraki with his Unarmed Combat attack.
You take 20 damage.

And the Zanpakuto breaks. The sword snaps, clean in two.

This is bad, because it means Kenpachi's sword is broken, and he's using his spiritual energy to hold it together.

It's good, because all of a sudden, Kenpachi is able to pour even more energy into his blade. The blade, that screams in agony.

This is what happens when you are a man who believes in his own power and no-one elses.

It means that when he starts doing things like theis, nearby buildings start collapsing as the energy of the blade surpasses the blade itself, as Kenpachi once again swings the blade down on Scar, now rather angry himself. This is far from anyones favourite situation.

Yachiru, for her part, is sitting on a fairly tall building, watching. "Ken-Chan's gonna be pretty pissed..."

You miss Scar with your Cutting The Soul super.

The weapon is still intact? Well, this is a sour turn of events. It takes every ounce of luck and a complete forsaking of dignity for Scar to leap to the side and impact a wall, almost cleaved in half for both body and soul. There's no way that Scar is going to manage to run for it with this angry deathgod upon him. There's really only one last gambit that might drive him backwards. Rather then turn and run, Scar is abruptly much more aggressive. Crouching down low, he hurls himself towards Kenpachi Zaraki with a loud snarl. He summons up a tremendous amount of alchemic energy... Before attempting to sink his very hand within the death god's essence, to cling to him in a manner more comical then anything else. Let's see how effective trying to literally destroy the reaper from the inside-out is in defeating him!!

Scar hits Kenpachi Zaraki with his LING LIKES MEN SO I WILL TOUCH HIS THIRD NIPPLE super.
You take 45 damage.

Yeah.

That. Freaking. HURT.

However, Kenpachi is right in closer than that he could have gotten before, as his Reiatsu flares, attempting to push Scar into the air, and away from him.

You miss Scar with your And here's the pitch! stun.

The sudden burst of energy fails to dislodge Scar, who grits his teeth before unleashing a final nigh-imploding amount of alchemic energy, trying to almost literally rip Kenpachi's soul in half in much the same way he's failed to prior. Only then is he dislodged, flying backwards and hitting the ground to come to a rolling stop some distance away, breathing heavily and not quick in the slightest to rise... At least he's not that injured. It's better then wrestling Lust or getting Lan Fan naked. Both involve a lot of sharp poking.

Scar hits Kenpachi Zaraki with his Burning Embrace of the Alchemic Bane Grope attack.
You take 23 damage.

Kenpachi is hurting. He is hurting lots. But he has the energy to keep going.

For you see, this morning, Kenpachi drank several gallons of Hatorade.

Kenpachi once again closes the distance bringing his sword up. Now he's not happy. He did not, in fact, come here intending for a fight. He was genuinely lost.

But now the fact that there's someone intent on destroying him for no reasl reason, Kenpachi's intent on destroying right back, as the broken blade swings.

You hit Scar with your And if you survive this fight, I'm telling Mayuri where you live attack.

It might be an understandment. Initially, Scar was just looking at an incoming tornado of running person. Then he got almost ran over, so stopped Kenpachi to ask what in Ishbala's name is going on. Somehow that turned into this deathbrawl, blowing up large chunks of surrounding buildings. The tides of fate are truly peculiar. Impacted by the weapon, Scar manages to not evade a gaping wound today. He hits the ground, sliding off and grimacing in pain. But still his trembling right arm slaps into the ground beside him, and there's a low warble befire a huge detonation of energy takes place just beneath Kenpachi, a whirlwind of soul-tearing destruction. Scar might lose, but he might also do a lot more damage to the Death God then most in the process... At least, damage that is not cosmetic or laughable!

Scar hits Kenpachi Zaraki with his Alchemic Tornado attack.
You take 25 damage.

Another detonation of energy, another burst of pain, another retaliation from angry deathgod.

It's an endless circle. And it can only end in ruin. Complete and total ruin. And pain. And ruin.

Still, Kenpachi knows his opponent probably has about as much left in him as he does. And that's saying something. The deathgod's broken sword comes down towards Scar once again, fueled by anger, rage, and death.

You miss Scar with your I'm serious. Mayuri Kurotsuchi will know where you live. attack.

But Scar is still able to move. And move he does, lurching downwards and skittering forward with his right hand drawn back. And then he attempts to snatch Kenpachi by the face while rushing past. If successful, for a few moments the deathgod will be dragged through the air before a horrendous concentration of alchemy follows. And then, he'll be slammed into the ground, a last detonation that might very well end the conflict. It's the signature killing blow, that has brought a dozen State Alchemits to nothing within Central alone. "HAAAAA!!"

Scar critically strikes Kenpachi Zaraki with his Final Judgement attack.
You take 34 damage.
You have been knocked out!

The blow manages to catch Kenpachi.

He's going to need someone to pull him out of this one. Fortunately, he has that.

However, Kenpachi is not a man who likes going down without giving it his all, as the Zanpakuto makes for one final stab at Scar's gut. It's really a hard position to defend from.

And really, to, attack from. It's awkward to take someone down when they have your face in their hands, but it's something Kenpachi will damn well try to do.

Meanwhile, Yachiru starts hoppign towards the battlefield, ready to evac Kenpachi.

You hit Scar with your Dying Stab attack.

The sword sinks into Scar's stomach, which is probably very high in his personal discomfort preference. His teeth grit, blood dripping down his chin. Eyes narrow, before he unleashes one final and significantly more catastrophic pulse of alchemic energy. Enough to shake the area, split the ground beneath Kenpachi's head, and flare like the second sun. And Scar will not /stop/ channeling energy like this, until Kenpachi is very limp indeed. However, then the sigils upon his arm begin to hum again, turning a brighter red. They seem to be reacting to the Death God now, the singing souls reaching, pulling, almost coercing the fallen man and his charge. Join us. Become one with the stone... But Scar forcedly yanks himself backwards, gripping his wrist and doubling over before bolting into a nearby alley. Kenpachi and him had a misunderstanding. That warrents beating him up in an alley. But trapping him in a permanent hell between life and death... That will be saved for the State Alchemists, and those who quest the Stone! But this is unlikely to be the last time they meet -- not by a longshot.

Unseen to Scar, Yachiru sticks her tongue out at him as she grabs Kenpachi.

However, she wouldn't rank this as 'Ken-Chan making a friend' so much as 'Ken-Chan putting someone very high on his list of people to kill'. And Soul Society are going to want details, now.

kenpachi zaraki, scar
