Mall Mayhem, and it's not even President's Day!

WHAT: Erik finally finds Christina, assuming she is a mutant.. and finds himself disappointed in the truth.

San Dimas - California
Welcome to San Dimas.
It's your usual Californian state, complete with fun, sun and babes. There's beaches, there's malls, there's water parks... the whole nine yards when it comes to the stereotypical California town. All of the places of interest can be found out by talking to one of the overly tanned inhabitants, or stopping in any particular random shop to pick up a Guide to San Dimas.
San Dimas, California. Formerly known as Rancho San Jose, it is affectionately known in this Gateverse as the center of the Universe. There's water parks, ice cream shops, beaches, a mall. A nice mall. Two stories. It's huge.
In this mall are shops - you can find about anything you want here, from a piano to sporting goods. Apparently there is some sort of convention in town, if the figures that are approaching the mall are any indication. One is in a blue and white outfit, an older teen with slicked back white hair. The next is a figure in goggles with red and gold tubes attached to his arms. The next is a MASSIVE mountain of a man. Wearing a black outfit, he's just huge.
Finally, is another figure, in red. His cape floes behind him, helmet sitting firmly over his head. As the rent a cop on the golf cart pulls up, he looks at the motely group. "What's this? Comic-Con is in San Diego, you geeks."
"Blob. Introduce us." the figure in red intones, just before the golf cart is ripped from the ground by some unseen force, dumping the security officer uncerimoniously on the ground. Magneto then uses the cart as a battering ram, flinging it through the front doors of the mall, just as there's a rumbling.
Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. STOMP. STOMP. STOMP. CRUSH CRASH. The massive Blob, Fred Dukes, charges into the main area of the mall. "IT'S THE PRESIDENT'S DAY SALE, FLATSCANS! FIVE FINGERED DISCOUNTS FOR MUTANTS!"
Christina, frankly, could care less about a convention. That's more relevant to Amuro's interests. Chris is here for something more important than conventions! In the interests of finding a nice remote zone to go shopping in, she has come here, alone, with one goal in mind:
Get a new bathing suit. Sure, it may be a /little/ early to start looking into such things but Christina figures it must be summer in /some/ world out there.
Slipping out of a Water Water store, Christina merrily consults the mall map. She is in good spirits today for now she can forget about being a Federation Lieutenant and a Gundam pilot and just have a little /fun/.
This is cut short by the sound of shattering glass coming from somewhere near one of the entrances. From the second level, Christina peers down to see a very, very fat man charge in and nearly take out a smaller merchant-cart parked in the center of the walkway.
"...w..what the hell?"
[OOC] Magneto says, "On behalf of Roy? It's always summer in Margaritaville."

As Blob crushes through the front doors and barrels over a fake scents merchant cart and continues onward towards the food court, heading right towards the massive carousel in the middle.
Behind him, there's a blur of blue. It streaks up the stairs and through the crowd, stopping at Christina. Standing there is a teenage kid, who smirks at Christina. "Hey babe, the boss helmet wants to talk to you. But introductions first."
And with that, Quicksilver yoinks her purse and takes off back down the stairs, a mere blur as he arrives at the figure in red with a cape. He should be /very/ familiar to Christina. Lifting the purse with a simple flick of his hand, the Master of Magnetism takes out her wallet. "...Lieutenant Christina MacKenzie. Not a very flattering picture, is it? Then again, these registration photos never are." Dropping it back into her purse, he floats it back over to her. "You, my dear, are quite an interesting young woman."
Blob, in the meantime, is stuffing himself over in the corner of the food court on a whole leg of lamb from the Greek Gyro shop, Yeero Yerro.
Magneto looks towards the other mutants, and then towards a young woman in the crowd and nods as he continues forward towards Christina.
Struck with trainwreck syndrome, Chris can merely stare as the Blob thunders past, pretty much flattening anything that gets in his way. He's like some kind of meat miracle.
She's finally shaken out of this staring trance as she suddenly hears this teenager next to her, "...what? HEY!" Christina grabs for her wallet, but to no avail, Quicksilver is /gone/. "My /purse/!" she starts off, heading for the stairs to the lower level when Magneto speaks up. The woman stops and moves to look over the balcony again, staring at Magneto. Yes, she recognized him alright. It was that /person/ that halted the Black Phantom when they were trying to transport the Gundam Alex off the world for the first time. ".../you/? What are /you/ doing here?!" She stares at her floating purse for a long moment before snatching it out of the air.
Was he working for Zeon-no, the Syndicate? He /was/ there when Zeon struck..and did make that attack on White Base once. Crap.
A hand reaches into her purse. "Don't come any closer. I'm warning you."
A meat miracle powered by meat. Blob sits over there, eating the leg of lamb.. then looks up at Christina. Whoa. He wipes his mouth off on the back of his arm, his bare arm, and belches. "She's hot." he comments, "I bet you melt your seat you're so hot!" he calls out in a minor taunt.
Magneto ignores his crude subordinate as Christina recognizes him. Excellent. "You are warning me? Child, know your place." the Mutant Savior says off hand. "If there was any threat to me in that purse, do you really think I would have returned it to you?" As he floats closer, red eyes flare up from beneath the dark of his helmet. "I have seen your machine at work and been told about the abilities that it takes to pilot such a craft. Tell me, child, where did you receieve such a gift?"
In the meantime, the other mutants are having a grand old time. Quicksilver darts along the stores, picking and choosing what he wants - which really shows off his teen side. CDs, an ipod, PSP, leather jacket.
That red and yellow figure mentioned earlier? He gives a small cough as Pyro looks towards Christina and Magneto. "Just bloody brilliant." he says in a thick Scottish accent. "Everyone else is having fun and I'm stuck watching the recruitment video."
Unsurprisingly, Chris looks vaugely repulsed at being hit on by DA BLOB. She forces herself to ignore this for now, instead, predictably gripping the gun she keeps in her purse. After reading enough reports from the IPA, she figured it was probably a good idea to go everywhere armed.
Child? Taunting? It's irritating, but fear is overwhelming her anger right now. She doesn't exactly qualify as 'hotblooded' after all.
Gritting her teeth and ignoring Magneto's posturing for now, Christina pulls that gun and points it at Magneto. "That is classified Federation information." Of course, she's assuming he's talking about the Gundam Alex itself and not, well, /herself/.
Her gaze wavers, eyes darting to look at-or try to-Quicksilver as he runs around looting.
"Sweet, she didn't gag." That's always a plus for Fred Dukes. Girl not running away and throwing up is potential!
Magneto smirks beneath his helmet as Christina pulls her weapon, the Master of Magnetism shakes his head just slightly. Really, now, who's posturing. "Go ahead, Christina. Pull the trigger. If you feel justified in your actions, then simply pull the trigger and vindicate yourself." he comments simply, holding his hands out to the side, as if in surrender.
A small, dry laugh escapes his throat. "If it were your non-automated robot I was interested in, do you think I would have tracked you here, Miss MacKenzie? Really, you amuse me." Erik comments. "No. You're the one with the gift. Like Haman." Maybe that will clear things up. Probably not. I am here to make you an offer. To give you the chance to be your own person, not a puppet to an organization."
Christina would /love/ to gag, Blob! She would simply /love/ it! Unfortunately, the current situation demands more attention than it would be allowed to gag at things.
Christina, also, notably does not pull the trigger. As if the people in the mall aren't already panicked /enough/. She does keep the gun trained on him, however, insiting that he keep his distance.
Though after he speaks up again, she narrows her eyes, "..w..what?" Gift? Haman? Oh /crap/. Realization dawns upon her: Magneto thinks she's a Newtype. After a brief quiet exchange with her allies, she decides that, at this time, she will not correct this grevious mistake as that could mean getting killed or beat up /very/ badly.
She doesn't move and, quietly, decides to play along. "...go on."
Magneto gets a thin smile on his face. Now, let's see how far those powers extend, hmm? Perhaps the girl will realize there is a small tug on her hands, as Erik exerts control over the metals in the pistol.
It is also at this same time Quicksilver is making his way back towards Christina. Maybe to goose her. Or to upskirt her. Or more likely because he saw something cool in the store behind her.
Blob, in the meantime, is finishing off that leg of lamb and is licking his fingers. "Mmm, delicious!" And with that, he tromps over to the chinese place and starts in on the tub of bourbon chicken. Because the sample cup is never enough!
As Erik looks down towards Christina, the Mutant Supermist merely comments. "You have a choice. You can either join me and my brotherhood - or you can become one that is crushed by it. You have mere seconds to decide, Miss MacKenzie."

Amuro Ray has arrived.
Short set for those arriving on the scene. Currently the mall is under attack. The San Dimas mall is two stories of fun. Really, see Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Currently, Blob is in the food court, downing bourbon chicken. Quicksilver is looting CDs and PSP games. Pyro is looking bored and coughing every now and again.. and Magneto? Magneto is floating in front of Christina, currently in possession of her pistol.
As focused as she is, yes, she does realize the small tug on her gun. She can /feel/ it, and she's going to resist it, tightening her grip upon the weapon. As it stood this was all she really had as far as protection was concerned.
The Blob is ignored. Quicksilver is not. Magneto's words are not. "I have..no desire to work with you, Magneto. I am a lieutenant of the Federation of Earth."
...and on that note, her grip on the gun is relinquished. She knows he's got his magnetic hold on it and there's not much she can do about that. That done, Christina makes a mad dash to /run the hell away/.
"Tch." Magneto shakes his head. "Idealistic." the Mutant Master of Magnetism says, crushing the pistol beneath his powers, but does not persue the woman. Instead, he watches where she's running towards, and calls out. "Blob!"
Blob looks up. "Mrf?" Mouth full of bourbon chicken and spring rolls, he can't say much, but he sees Christina and more importantly, where she's running to. Stomp. He starts to move forward, arriving at the escalator as Christina comes racing down it, having swallowed his food finally. "Hey baby, give me a hug!"
With that, he tries to wrap his arms around the woman in a greasy, fatty, hug. Mmm, smell the chicken fat, lamb, sweat and man mold, Christina!
Magneto turns to the other mutants. "Raze the mall. Let this be a message to all that deny us of our basic principles and those that would wish to stop us in taking what is rightfully ours!"
Pyro woos! Finally, some action! Turning to a store, he strikes up his flame throwers and starts to spray them into a lingerie shop - with lots of swimsuits in the window. Swimsuits that would have really looked good on Christina.

Alicia makes decent time. Perhaps she is used to getting around via Gate by now, or maybe she's just lucky and got the right one the first try.
Alicia enters the mall, looking even more wide-eyed than usual, because there is danger around - she can feel it, even if she can't see it from the entrance she took. She heads further in, letting said feelings guide her. Also, people who maybe attempting to escape. Those are a good giveaway as to where problems are, even if all of them are taller than she is and thus block her view.
Of course, when she sees the flame, that makes it even simpler. Alicia speeds up, leaving her sword sheathed.
Rei is not always very intelligent about fine details.
Her reasoning is that if Magneto is in favor of mutants, he will not fire upon them if they are either on his side or apparently in favor of his ideals. She is, she reasons, obviously a mutant due to what are clearly genetic errors.
(Oh, irony.)
When she walks in through one of the side doors of the designated mall, she sees flamethrowers being used. This means she stops walking forwards. (She has learned that much, at least.)
Alicia hasn't learned that much, apparently.
Fire bad :(
Christina is not the right person to go to when defending a mall from super-powered people is the problem. Yes, she's had a little military combat training but military combat training is pretty much nothing compared to people that can run at supersonic speeds and create fire with their brains. The best she can really do is get out of dodge and notify the rest of the IPA to come in for backup.
As she dashes down the escalator, she finds this goal hitting a roadblock. Moments later she finds herself being smothered in MAN CLEAVAGE and, for a brief, brief moment, wishes she was dead. "Let go of me!" she shrieks, pounding her fists into the Blob's massive bulk.
Christina MacKenzie gets a glancing blow on Magneto with her DINK feint.

Amuro is even moreso not the right person to defend a mall on foot. He lacks the amount of training Christina has had, having been a last-minute conscript instead of a military academy graduate, and rarely sees combat with just a gun in his hands. And that's all he has, as he runs into the mall. A standard-issue gun in his hands.
He stops short at the flames, alongside Rei. "...Dammit," he mutters, wondering if this was such a good idea. Something in his mind tingles, but he isn't sure why.
With Alicia and Rei entering the mall, Pyro looks over from his lingerie flambe to note the two women. "Well, hello, hello, lovely birds~" the flame controller says, and then shoots flames up into the air, heat rippling the air as he exerts his own mutant power.
From within the heat of the flames, a form starts to take shape. In this case, it's a a large phoenix. "Want to touch the birdie?" the pyromaniac asks as he starts to laugh.. ending with another wet cough. "Ugh. Better hurry this up." With that, he sends the bird streaking down towards Alicia and Ayanami.
In the meantime, Blue Streak, Speeds By... oh wait, that's Quicksilver, not Sonic the Hedgehog. He races right towards Amuro, to grab his gun, and if successful, he has plans. Taking up the rifle, he'll spin it around, grin at Amuro, and punch him in the face with the butt of it before handing it back to the kid. "Hey man, nice gun, too bad you can't hit anything with it." And zoom, the speedster mutant is on his way again.
Fred is getting a boob massage and love taps from Christina in the meantime. That is, until she lays one rather viscious pop on his nose. "Ow!" he yells, and twists... tossing the girl at an Auntie Anne's pretzel kiosk as he starts to stomp after her. "I thought you liked me!" he snarls.
Magneto floats above the madness, watching his mutants at work.. and notes the newcomers. He does not move to attack, instead, concentrating on watching them at work to see what capabilities they bring - or if they are mere flatscans. This will decide on his next course of action.

"No!" Christina shouts back angrily, "I /don't/ like you! You..you're the most disgusting thing I've ever encountaaaaah!" Christina goes flying, sailing into the pretzel shop and colliding violently with their dutch ice machine. She thuds to the ground, groaning, and almsot feels inclined to hide down there. However, the godzilla-grade stomping in her direction prompts her to take action.
She forces herself to her feet and looks around frantically before grabbing ahold of a discarded mass of pretzel dough. The dough is promptly thrown at the Blob's face.
Christina MacKenzie misses Magneto with her Improvisational weapons 101 stun.
The number of times Alicia has been attacked by a flaming bird rises to two.
"Ah!" she yelps, covering her face and upper torso by crossing her arms over them; her sleeves are better able to take the heat than her face, even if it does leave her with scorched hands. They're not scorched enough to stop her from drawing her sword, a narrow and quite polished weapon that doesn't seem to have had much use. She holds it somewhat loosely, pointing forward.
"Why are you lighting the mall on fire?" she asks, rather innocently. Alicia's gaze flits up to look at the hovering Magneto briefly, than back at Pyro - in fact, she charges Pyro, using her light weapon like a rapier and thrusting forward at the mutant. She has noticed Rei, and is trying to stand between Pyro and her, in fact.
Alicia hits Magneto with her Mirage Pierce jab.

This is Rei Ayanami. She is on fire.
The 'flame phoenix' is of course somewhat less murderous than Rei might have expected. As the flame heads towards her, Rei doesn't flinch, although she does duck; the greater part of the roaring heat goes past her, as a result. However, she can feel her skin ache on the back of the neck; her hair doesn't catch fire, at least.
She doesn't seem to exercise any mutant power beyond 'running towards a store;' she does not even know which ONE. This probably helps facilitate Alicia's cunning plan to stab Pyro.
Something flashes through Amuro's mind more clearly now, as he sees a blue blur. And even though there's no way he could be reacting so quickly, not a normal human in normal circumstances, he jerks his rifle just out of the grasp of Quicksilver. Perhaps more distubingly, at least to the mutant, he turns and, briefly...
Makes eye contact as Quicky passes.
It actually takes the pilot a moment to process what has just happened, though his senses give him a hint of where the cocky speedy mutant is. And while he may not be able to hit such a fast moving target, he takes aim and fires. "FREEZE!"
Hey, he's dealt with folks who are fast, before.
Amuro Ray misses Magneto with his THREE TIMES FASTER LOL jab.
The dough flung at Blob, who catches it in one hand. "Awww, baby, you trying to feed me? That's sweet." He takes a big ole bite out of the dough then slams his foot on the ground. He slams it down so hard it cracks the tile and sends a shockwave at Christina. One that threatens to barrel her over. Better watch out over there for things like broken shops or gas mains!
Pyro blinks as one of the hottie chicks charges at him and he barely has time to squawk in panic before the sword slices through the air and catches him in the side, cutting into him. The mutant fire master hisses. "You one of them knight dames that is running all over the place? I thought King Arthur and all that were guys!" But if she wants to play like that, he can oblige.
Forming up his own flames, he musters them around him forming a large flaming shield and what appears to be a large flame hammer. "And I burn things because I can burn things, roight! I don't need some dame in a silly hat telling me otherwise!"
Quicksilver blinks at Amuro as for a moment the two seem to be at a standoff. He can't get away the rifle, and when Amuro tries to secondguess Quicksilver, the mutant adjusts accordingly. This could be a bit of a standoff. That is until Magneto announces his presence. "Enough, son. Deal with the albino." Did Magneto just call him son? Yes, yes he did.
Quicksilver looks back at Magneto for a moment, then at Amuro. "Later, loser." And with that, he zips off and tries to sonic leg sweep Rei towards the ground, "Hey, where you off to in such a hurry, didn't you know all the really big sales ended on Monday?"
Magneto floats down towards Amuro. "The Newtype. Tell me, Gundam pilot - have you considered my offer since the last time we talked? You should know that the battle you fight is a losing one. However, if you join me, there can be more than just Federation versus Zeon. More than Syndicate versus IPA. There is more to this than those simple factions. It is about our rightful place."

Alicia does not have a hat, although she does have a gold hairband.
She squeals again as the flame weapon smashes into her, and her own strike is delayed slightly by the desire to ensure that her trailing sleeves or skirts have not actually caught fire. With him tying her down (not literally), she can't go help the others. That means...
"To me!" Alicia says, reaching out to one side. A blue-spectral figure starts to appear, literally stepping out of her and rapping his staff against the ground. Once he's physically outside of Alicia, he starts to regain normal colouration; a man all in brown, carrying a carved wood staff, with a broad hat so large that it actually hides his eyes. "Go help her!" Alicia directs Mithra, pointing with her sword in Christina's direction. He nods, heading that way and raising his staff as he does. "Frigid Damsel!"
A spirit of ice wielding a broad icicle for a sword appears near Blob. She spins in the air, lashing out three times with her freezing weapon, and then vanishes in a spray of snow and freezing mist. Hopefully it is enough.
Alicia switches armor modes to Wizard.
Alicia misses Magneto with her Mithra: Frigid Damsel attack.
This is Rei Ayanami. Why is her nose bleeding? She fell down.
Rei finds herself down on the ground so suddenly that she wonders, uselessly, if time had stopped. The impact doesn't break her nose but does bruise it, along with part of her cheek; she lays on the ground after this, shivering faintly but visibly, perhaps in suppressed pain.
She hasn't broken anything yet; she starts to push herself back up. It isn't very fast; she doesn't say anything while doing so.
"...eew." Christina, for a brief moment, is compelled to make a face. It's /raw/ dough and that's /disgusting/. This doesn't stop her from climbing out of the Auntie Anne's and trying to make another getaway. Around now she becomes aware of the presence of the others, "Amuro!" she calls out-then winces, noting he's being accosted at the moment.
The shockwave catches her completely off guard, sending her flying into the Boardwalk Fries adjacent to the Auntie Anne's she was just thrown into. Silence.
When Christina emerges again, she's armed. Well, armed with a /mop/ but it's honestly the best she can do. Then she sees some sort of ice spirit coming and is /about/ to make a scene about it before she realizes it's on her side. Maybe it'll distract the Blob?
Seeing her opening, she rushes in bravely, sweeping the mop at the Blob's head. Unfortunately, she, uh, misses.
Drawing back she /does/ notice that the mop got frozen rock solid from that mist Mithra expelled when she vanished.
Christina tries to give batting Blob's head with it a second go.
Christina MacKenzie misses Magneto with her FOF CHANGE: FRIGID MOP? ..okay, maybe not but... attack.
[Citizen's Band] Magneto | Blob announces, "NOTHING STOPS THE BLOB."
Amuro managed to draw Magneto's attention away from Chris, at least. He can be thankful of that. He didn't want to know what would happen if the mutant leader found out Chris was a 'flatscan.'
"...I can't support your ideals," he insists in a clear tone up at Magneto, eyes narrowed. "I told you before. I won't accept the idea of superiority or rightful place, or anything like that! Humans fight amongst one another for enough shallow reasons as it is."
Even if it's not going to do a damn bit of good, he aims the rifle up at Magneto. "I'm not getting behind another reason!"
Blob is only vaguely aware of Mithra's assault on him. His head twists around as dude with funny pointy hat summons chick with funny hat and ice sword. It slams into his wall of fat, and as she and the sword disappear, the massive mutant snorts, "Needs cherry flavoring. Was that supposed to --" WHACK!
The mop handle smacks Blob upside the head. The fat ripples. But not much else. That large (rather small on Blob's massive body) turns back to Christina. "You like to play rough, huh?" he grins. "Good." And with that...
The massive mountain of a man, moves forward.. and simply tries to fall on top of Christina. She may have time to move. She may not. Let's hope she does, because that's a whole ton of man.
Magneto, while distracted from Christina by Amuro.. is almost equally distracted by something else. Alicia. What did she just do? That was a summoning - almost like a spirit. For some reason, it's reminscent of Thunderbolt or John Spirit, and the Mutant Master of Magnetism may have a whole new target.
Except for that rifle pointed at him. That's okay. While Amuro is aiming at Magneto, Quicksilver returns, racing by Amuro and balls up a fist. As he does so, he swings it hard at the back of Amuro's head, attempting to lay him out with the blow.
Pyro, in the meantime, moves in on Alicia, using his flames to try to surround the summoner and make things really really hot for her. "Does the pretty bird want to be extra cripsy or deep fried?" he asks with a smirk.

Alicia realizes, about now, that she has lost track of Rei.
She backs up, using her sword to fan flames away and simply darting out before the circle closes around her. "I don't," she says, not quite sure how to deal with someone who wisecracks /during/ a fight. Alicia starts to reverse, heading back toward where she last saw Rei, and tosses Pyro something small and blue as she does.
It is a gem. When it touches anything after being thrown, it explodes in a small personal blizzard, about eight feet across and filled with whipping winds and flying ice.
Mithra sees Christina go down under the Blob and raises his staff again. Strict attack spells didn't work, so... "Astral Maze!" he declares, pointing the back end at the Blob. If it works, the Blob will vanish for a few moments, teleported Elsewhere...unfortunately, it doesn't last long, so he should reappear right where he left in about ten seconds, or as close as obstacles allow. It's only to free Christina.
Alicia switches armor modes to Princess.
Alicia hits Magneto with her Ice Crystal jab.

Even better, the mop itself cracks in half, leaving Christina with nothing but a pointy mop handle in her hand. The other half goes flying and clatters across the floor several feet away.
The pilot looks up, then backs away..and keeps backing away, turning and fleeing but, unfortunately, it's not fast enough. The blob falls on her, trapping her half underneath, and pretty much crushing her legs.
Frantically, she tries to scramble free, turning and stabbing the Blob with the broken broom handle. The Lieutenant is starting to look a little frantic now.
Should the Astral Maze actually work, Christina is wasting no time and scrambling away. The most she can really do at this point is crawl as she's fairly sure getting squashed like that left her legs with broken bones.
Christina MacKenzie gets a glancing blow on Magneto with her DO NOT WANT feint.

Rei pushes herself to hands and knees, and from there, to a crouch; she doesn't stand up all the way, looking hastily around. Her tongue runs briefly out as blood runs down her lips, out of pure reflex; she makes a face at the taste.
She is probably pretty easy to spot, really.
Newtype senses do /not/ warn him of this.
Amuro cries out as he takes the head blow, stumbling as his vision briefly blacks out. He holds his head, realzing after he has regained full consciousness that he's lost track of Magneto /and/ Christina. "Ugh..." Steadying himself, he starts running towards Christina, who is facing off against the /fattest/ guy he has ever seen...
Quicksilver grins, sliding to a stop. "Your fancy schmancy psychic powers didn't see that one coming, now did it?" the speedster taunts Amuro, before noticing Alicia. And he can't help it. The teen speedster takes off, streaking by Alicia... who may feel a slight pinching sensation in an area where someone is rarely allowed to be pinched.
Pyro notices the crystal and attempts to turn his flames on it to put it out. However, he is well too late, and in the end, the massive ice blast goes off, and the mutant is knocked backwards. The flames on his body go out, leaving him steaming and smoking, and with a yelp, he's trying to find some way to heat back up and start to get his fire going again.
Magneto starts to make him move towards Alicia. "You. Who are you?" he asks the summoner, staring at her intently as he closes the distance, metal rippling and repeled from him as he advances on her.
Blob gets poked hard with the mop, just before suddenly everything gets really dark and he vanishes. To where? There's this maze. And a large red dot that says 'you are here'. Fred Dukes stands there, staring blankly at it as he realizes that he's totally lost. "AUGH! NOTHING STOPS THE BLOB." With that, he starts to run forward. He slams into a wall. Then another wall. And another, trying to force his way out of the maze. He will get out!
And when he does.. he's on the second floor. And the railing meant to keep people from jumping over the edge shreds like paper under the Blob's weight and down he goes towards the ground. Down.. down...
Impact.
It's not the Second Impact -- but it shakes the very foundation of the mall. It registers on Sesmic Meters all the way in San Diego as a 2.4 on the Richter Scale. The whole place rattles, shakes, and reverbs with the force of the Blob's one story faceplant.
Fred Duke sits up woozily. "Oof. Watch for that first step.. it's a doozie."

[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "I'm offering you the chance to walk. Accept it. Or realize that this mall is full of steel."
[Citizen's Band] Alicia says, "Are you going to keep attacking it if we do?"
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "I will leave if you tell me your name."
[Citizen's Band] Alicia says, "Alicia. It's Alicia..."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "Very well. I will call off the Brotherhood. Now depart."
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "This sounds interesting. What's goin' on here?"
[Citizen's Band] Alicia says, "...you leave first."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "You are not in a position to negotiate, Alicia."
[Citizen's Band] Alicia says, "I know."
Christina manages to pull herself herself up against a wall for support only to realize that /yes/, her legs are actually broken. She clutches the wall with all of her upper body strength and simply listens to the radio.
"I need a little help out.." she mumbles weakly.
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "Take the flatscan, and /leave/."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "We will leave afterwards. I give my word. And as Havelock can attest, I will follow it."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "And I know you are listening, Havelock."
[Citizen's Band] Jotaro Kujo says, "How old are you?"
[Citizen's Band] Havelock Vetinari says, "Yes, Erik, I'm listening."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "Good. Next time, don't send children."
[Citizen's Band] Jotaro Kujo says, "You, old man, I'm talking to you."
[Citizen's Band] Yuna says, "Is there an need for an healer to be there?"
[Citizen's Band] Alicia says, "I am a healer."
[Citizen's Band] Havelock Vetinari says, "I hardly send them all personally. And, of course, I'm given to understand that they are 'sassy teenagers.'"
[Citizen's Band] Havelock Vetinari pause. "Oh, excuse me. 'Teenagers with attitude.'"
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "Next time, they will be dead teenagers, Vetinari."

Alicia has had many things happen to her since she left her manor, running away from a very angry Valkyrie.
None of them were getting goosed. She totally reflexively squeals; her voice is quite piercing. She's also turned bright red, although it is an open question whether it is from the burns or sheer mortification. She /is/ a princess. People don't do that to her! She spins about, flailing with her sword, but is far too late to actually catch Quicksilver.
The shockwave, too, keeps her quiet, because she ends up on her back, with a light fixture on top of her. It didn't seem to actually do that much injury to her, though, because she pushes it off, getting back to her feet, just a bit more painfully. She moves toward Rei, slowly, sword still out as she watches Magneto.
Mithra gets up from where /he/ was knocked over, too. He doesn't seem to have difficulty with broken limbs, but then again he is a ghost. He stays near Christina, beginning the longer healing spell as green sparks dance around him. "Let's go. I'll clear the way."
[Citizen's Band] Yuna says, "...."
[Citizen's Band] Havelock Vetinari says, "Mm."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "I have no patience for flatscans."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "However, the Newtype and Summoner interest me."
[Citizen's Band] Nono quietly, "You should stop talking like that."
[Citizen's Band] Sanger Zonvolt says, "If you harm them, I will cut my way through to you."
[Citizen's Band] Nono says, "And I will help."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "Better have tried."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "Tonight, I send you wounded. Next time, it will be body bags. I hope I make myself clear."
[Citizen's Band] Nono says, "Stop. Talking. Like. That."
[Citizen's Band] Han Su Li says, "OoooooOOOOOOoo. Scary."
[Citizen's Band] Jotaro Kujo says, "Stuck-up people like you piss me off. Let me come find out how old you are in person."
[Citizen's Band] Christina MacKenzie sounds angry, "You..you /started/ this..."
Amuro's mind warns him of the shockwave. Unfortunately, there's /little he can do about it,/ and even stumbling into a doorway doesn't keep him from falling to the ground.
He staggers back up, hearing a cry for help on the radio. Magneto is pulling back, so he says. He'll trust the mutant to his word; meanwhile, he limps towards the others, in particular trying to help Christina stand back up so he can lead her out.
"Ugh...Ayanami, Alicia...are you alright...?"
[Citizen's Band] Sanger Zonvolt says, "Tch..."
[Citizen's Band] Amaterasu | Issun says, "I'll take you on, me and my trusty partner No-Metal Ammy." Awr? "Hey wh-" *GLORPH* and a muffled "-HEY!"
[Citizen's Band] Sanger Zonvolt says, "I am Sanger. Sanger Zonvolt. I am the sword that cleaves evil. There is nothing my blade cannot cut--and I will prove that magnetism is no different."
[Citizen's Band] Yuna says, "There are other summoners out there?"
[Citizen's Band] Havelock Vetinari says, "Erik, you /have/ read the history of those who, so to speak, monologue on public frequencies, correct?"
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "That is why I only speak after securing victory, Vetinari."

Rei hears the radio tucked in her ear. She doesn't want to be healed, she thinks, even as the shuddering makes her stagger against a planter; this is harmless, in itself, if not for the sprained ankle. She leans against it, face tightening with unhidden pain.
Why don't I want it? she thinks, inwardly.

She shakes her head once sharply and grits her teeth, waiting for one of them to come closer. Hopefully, they will be let go.
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "As for my age, I am old enough to have seen the coldness in the hearts of man for those that they do not accept or understand, and aged well enough to accept that destiny calls for one to make it on their own, and not to accept what is forced upon them as shackles and chains."

Christina reaches out for Mithra. If he is solid, she will grab onto him for support.
She's a tiny bit surprised as well-this is the first time she's ever actually experienced a healing spell. It feels very nice. Warily watching the Blob and the other mutants, Christina sticks close to Mithra.
[Citizen's Band] Han Su Li says, "Yeah, well, they also complete total domination and history shaped to their likes."
[Citizen's Band] Yuna suddenly. "What is wrong with magic?"
[Citizen's Band] Envy says, "Control the time stream? Are they buildin' a dam or diggin' a river?"
[Citizen's Band] Han Su Li says, "I dunno, but I suppose so."
[Citizen's Band] Crimson Dawn sounds amused. "Oh, you know. All those horrid side effects, such as disease, devastation, and death."
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "What's wrong with it? I don't like it much, that's what. Damn wizards."
As the IPA rallies to leave, Magneto holds up a hand, barring Quicksilver from continuing. "Brotherhood, they have receieved our message. We shall depart."
Blob, muttering, grabs a rack of footlong corndogs, and winks at Christina before he starts to stomp off, joining the others as they make their way out of the mall.
Christina MacKenzie looks ILL now thanks to the Blob.
[Citizen's Band] Envy says, "Magic, alchemy, technology... Same as it ever was."
[Citizen's Band] Blob, snacking on a corn dog, "Christina, baby, call me sometime. It was good for me, too."
[Citizen's Band] Christina MacKenzie says, "You stay the hell away from me."
[Citizen's Band] Envy says, "Power corrupts. Absolute power is neat. Or so the story goes."
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "Absolute power is /boring/."
Mithra is solid enough to grab. He isn't wavering; Alicia isn't very far away.
The healing spell discharges in a ring of green light around Christina. It is not a perfect healing, but it beats the heck out of nothing. "We can go now," he says, suddenly, moving toward Amuro. Once /Amuro/ has Christina, he does vanish, turning into a bluish outline before vanishing in a trail of sparkles that head straight toward Alicia, sinking into her skin.
Alicia comes closer to Rei. She offers a hand. "Are you all right?"
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "Trust me - my wife ruled the world for a while, it's no fun."
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "All peaceful an' boring an' shit."
[Citizen's Band] Yuna says, "...."
[Citizen's Band] Envy says, "She never knocked over a neighboring kingdom, just for kicks?"
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "You don't seem to understand what I mean when I say 'the world.'"

[Citizen's Band] Envy says, "Gimme a sec, I have to wrap my head around that idea. OK. Whole planet. Got it. Yeah, that would be boring."
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "Weapons sales, now - /that's/ a business that ain't gonna get boring, none of this 'rule the world' shit."
[Citizen's Band] Han Su Li says, "What did you do with the world you ruled? Just...left?"
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "Yeeeep."

[RADIO] To Yuna, you radio: I am a Homo-Superior. Ask around, I am sure someone can explain it to you.

Amuro takes Christna from Mithra, nodding before the creature vanishes, and then beginning to limp out himself. "Lieutenant, I'm sorry I wasn't able to be more help," he sighs as he starts making his way out. He looks back to make sure Ayanami and Alicia are following; he can't help EVERYONE out at once.
[Citizen's Band] Yuna says, "Can anyone tell me what is an Homo-Superior?"
[Citizen's Band] Envy says, "..."
The parking lot in front of the mall has cleared out by now, though it is not completely barren. Legs, sometimes, are more efficient than cars for the purposes of fleeing.
There is some movement, however. An old, beat up Honda cruises through the lot, looking for a close parking spot. Eventually, it accelerates, takes a hard corner, and spins into an unoccupied handicap spot. Out steps a teenager who, after inspecting the mall with a nonplussed look on his face, shoves his hands into his pockets and walks towards the entrance just as everyone starts walking out. Presumably he encounters Amuro and company first because Magneto made a deal of waiting for them to leave.
"What are you doing?" Jotaro asks, his tone verging on accusatory.
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "That'd be a high-ranking gay man."
[Citizen's Band] Yuna says, "Eh? Really?"
[Citizen's Band] Roy Fokker says, "And that, Yuna, would be an idiot."
[Citizen's Band] Roy Fokker says, "... I think I heard of one of those in a comic book."
[Citizen's Band] Yuna says, "Comic book?"
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "Hey, we ain't biased. You've never punned, then?"
[Citizen's Band] Han Su Li says, "Hahahah."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto sighs. Because orcs are dumb. "A mutant."
[Citizen's Band] Han Su Li says, "--Wait, Homo Superior?"
[Citizen's Band] Han Su Li says, "I thought that was the name of a crazy cyborg in 2050."
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak isn't all that dumb, but he's also not really engaged by the conversation. "Eh, some people have no sense of humor."
[Citizen's Band] Yuna says, "Mutants? I have heard of them."
Christina happy to lean on Amuro now. "You tried..that counts I suppose."
Though in Christina's mind, she can't really see how this encounter could have ended up any better. Jotaro just gets a silent stare from the woman.
[Citizen's Band] Han Su Li blandly. "What's the big deal about mutants?"
Rei takes Alicia's hand without looking up. Her breathing is heavier than usual. She thinks, perhaps, that she cracked a rib - she isn't sure. "I will recover," she answers, before stepping, gingerly, away from the planter.
She lifts her head when Jotaro speaks up. She has blood caking the lower half of her face which is now starting to dry unpleasantly. Her nose is still bleeding.
"There was an attack," she says; it may be too quiet to hear.
WHEN: Febuary 22, 2007
WHERE: San Dimas, California - Megamall
WHAT: Erik finally finds Christina, assuming she is a mutant.. and finds himself disappointed in the truth.

San Dimas - California
Welcome to San Dimas.
It's your usual Californian state, complete with fun, sun and babes. There's beaches, there's malls, there's water parks... the whole nine yards when it comes to the stereotypical California town. All of the places of interest can be found out by talking to one of the overly tanned inhabitants, or stopping in any particular random shop to pick up a Guide to San Dimas.
San Dimas, California. Formerly known as Rancho San Jose, it is affectionately known in this Gateverse as the center of the Universe. There's water parks, ice cream shops, beaches, a mall. A nice mall. Two stories. It's huge.
In this mall are shops - you can find about anything you want here, from a piano to sporting goods. Apparently there is some sort of convention in town, if the figures that are approaching the mall are any indication. One is in a blue and white outfit, an older teen with slicked back white hair. The next is a figure in goggles with red and gold tubes attached to his arms. The next is a MASSIVE mountain of a man. Wearing a black outfit, he's just huge.
Finally, is another figure, in red. His cape floes behind him, helmet sitting firmly over his head. As the rent a cop on the golf cart pulls up, he looks at the motely group. "What's this? Comic-Con is in San Diego, you geeks."
"Blob. Introduce us." the figure in red intones, just before the golf cart is ripped from the ground by some unseen force, dumping the security officer uncerimoniously on the ground. Magneto then uses the cart as a battering ram, flinging it through the front doors of the mall, just as there's a rumbling.
Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. STOMP. STOMP. STOMP. CRUSH CRASH. The massive Blob, Fred Dukes, charges into the main area of the mall. "IT'S THE PRESIDENT'S DAY SALE, FLATSCANS! FIVE FINGERED DISCOUNTS FOR MUTANTS!"
Christina, frankly, could care less about a convention. That's more relevant to Amuro's interests. Chris is here for something more important than conventions! In the interests of finding a nice remote zone to go shopping in, she has come here, alone, with one goal in mind:
Get a new bathing suit. Sure, it may be a /little/ early to start looking into such things but Christina figures it must be summer in /some/ world out there.
Slipping out of a Water Water store, Christina merrily consults the mall map. She is in good spirits today for now she can forget about being a Federation Lieutenant and a Gundam pilot and just have a little /fun/.
This is cut short by the sound of shattering glass coming from somewhere near one of the entrances. From the second level, Christina peers down to see a very, very fat man charge in and nearly take out a smaller merchant-cart parked in the center of the walkway.
"...w..what the hell?"
[OOC] Magneto says, "On behalf of Roy? It's always summer in Margaritaville."
[OOC] Magneto says, "This has been a message of the Parrothead Tourist Convention."

As Blob crushes through the front doors and barrels over a fake scents merchant cart and continues onward towards the food court, heading right towards the massive carousel in the middle.
Behind him, there's a blur of blue. It streaks up the stairs and through the crowd, stopping at Christina. Standing there is a teenage kid, who smirks at Christina. "Hey babe, the boss helmet wants to talk to you. But introductions first."
And with that, Quicksilver yoinks her purse and takes off back down the stairs, a mere blur as he arrives at the figure in red with a cape. He should be /very/ familiar to Christina. Lifting the purse with a simple flick of his hand, the Master of Magnetism takes out her wallet. "...Lieutenant Christina MacKenzie. Not a very flattering picture, is it? Then again, these registration photos never are." Dropping it back into her purse, he floats it back over to her. "You, my dear, are quite an interesting young woman."
Blob, in the meantime, is stuffing himself over in the corner of the food court on a whole leg of lamb from the Greek Gyro shop, Yeero Yerro.
Magneto looks towards the other mutants, and then towards a young woman in the crowd and nods as he continues forward towards Christina.
Struck with trainwreck syndrome, Chris can merely stare as the Blob thunders past, pretty much flattening anything that gets in his way. He's like some kind of meat miracle.
She's finally shaken out of this staring trance as she suddenly hears this teenager next to her, "...what? HEY!" Christina grabs for her wallet, but to no avail, Quicksilver is /gone/. "My /purse/!" she starts off, heading for the stairs to the lower level when Magneto speaks up. The woman stops and moves to look over the balcony again, staring at Magneto. Yes, she recognized him alright. It was that /person/ that halted the Black Phantom when they were trying to transport the Gundam Alex off the world for the first time. ".../you/? What are /you/ doing here?!" She stares at her floating purse for a long moment before snatching it out of the air.
Was he working for Zeon-no, the Syndicate? He /was/ there when Zeon struck..and did make that attack on White Base once. Crap.
A hand reaches into her purse. "Don't come any closer. I'm warning you."
A meat miracle powered by meat. Blob sits over there, eating the leg of lamb.. then looks up at Christina. Whoa. He wipes his mouth off on the back of his arm, his bare arm, and belches. "She's hot." he comments, "I bet you melt your seat you're so hot!" he calls out in a minor taunt.
Magneto ignores his crude subordinate as Christina recognizes him. Excellent. "You are warning me? Child, know your place." the Mutant Savior says off hand. "If there was any threat to me in that purse, do you really think I would have returned it to you?" As he floats closer, red eyes flare up from beneath the dark of his helmet. "I have seen your machine at work and been told about the abilities that it takes to pilot such a craft. Tell me, child, where did you receieve such a gift?"
In the meantime, the other mutants are having a grand old time. Quicksilver darts along the stores, picking and choosing what he wants - which really shows off his teen side. CDs, an ipod, PSP, leather jacket.
That red and yellow figure mentioned earlier? He gives a small cough as Pyro looks towards Christina and Magneto. "Just bloody brilliant." he says in a thick Scottish accent. "Everyone else is having fun and I'm stuck watching the recruitment video."
Unsurprisingly, Chris looks vaugely repulsed at being hit on by DA BLOB. She forces herself to ignore this for now, instead, predictably gripping the gun she keeps in her purse. After reading enough reports from the IPA, she figured it was probably a good idea to go everywhere armed.
Child? Taunting? It's irritating, but fear is overwhelming her anger right now. She doesn't exactly qualify as 'hotblooded' after all.
Gritting her teeth and ignoring Magneto's posturing for now, Christina pulls that gun and points it at Magneto. "That is classified Federation information." Of course, she's assuming he's talking about the Gundam Alex itself and not, well, /herself/.
Her gaze wavers, eyes darting to look at-or try to-Quicksilver as he runs around looting.
"Sweet, she didn't gag." That's always a plus for Fred Dukes. Girl not running away and throwing up is potential!
Magneto smirks beneath his helmet as Christina pulls her weapon, the Master of Magnetism shakes his head just slightly. Really, now, who's posturing. "Go ahead, Christina. Pull the trigger. If you feel justified in your actions, then simply pull the trigger and vindicate yourself." he comments simply, holding his hands out to the side, as if in surrender.
A small, dry laugh escapes his throat. "If it were your non-automated robot I was interested in, do you think I would have tracked you here, Miss MacKenzie? Really, you amuse me." Erik comments. "No. You're the one with the gift. Like Haman." Maybe that will clear things up. Probably not. I am here to make you an offer. To give you the chance to be your own person, not a puppet to an organization."
Christina would /love/ to gag, Blob! She would simply /love/ it! Unfortunately, the current situation demands more attention than it would be allowed to gag at things.
Christina, also, notably does not pull the trigger. As if the people in the mall aren't already panicked /enough/. She does keep the gun trained on him, however, insiting that he keep his distance.
Though after he speaks up again, she narrows her eyes, "..w..what?" Gift? Haman? Oh /crap/. Realization dawns upon her: Magneto thinks she's a Newtype. After a brief quiet exchange with her allies, she decides that, at this time, she will not correct this grevious mistake as that could mean getting killed or beat up /very/ badly.
She doesn't move and, quietly, decides to play along. "...go on."
Magneto gets a thin smile on his face. Now, let's see how far those powers extend, hmm? Perhaps the girl will realize there is a small tug on her hands, as Erik exerts control over the metals in the pistol.
It is also at this same time Quicksilver is making his way back towards Christina. Maybe to goose her. Or to upskirt her. Or more likely because he saw something cool in the store behind her.
Blob, in the meantime, is finishing off that leg of lamb and is licking his fingers. "Mmm, delicious!" And with that, he tromps over to the chinese place and starts in on the tub of bourbon chicken. Because the sample cup is never enough!
As Erik looks down towards Christina, the Mutant Supermist merely comments. "You have a choice. You can either join me and my brotherhood - or you can become one that is crushed by it. You have mere seconds to decide, Miss MacKenzie."

Short set for those arriving on the scene. Currently the mall is under attack. The San Dimas mall is two stories of fun. Really, see Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Currently, Blob is in the food court, downing bourbon chicken. Quicksilver is looting CDs and PSP games. Pyro is looking bored and coughing every now and again.. and Magneto? Magneto is floating in front of Christina, currently in possession of her pistol.
As focused as she is, yes, she does realize the small tug on her gun. She can /feel/ it, and she's going to resist it, tightening her grip upon the weapon. As it stood this was all she really had as far as protection was concerned.
The Blob is ignored. Quicksilver is not. Magneto's words are not. "I have..no desire to work with you, Magneto. I am a lieutenant of the Federation of Earth."
...and on that note, her grip on the gun is relinquished. She knows he's got his magnetic hold on it and there's not much she can do about that. That done, Christina makes a mad dash to /run the hell away/.
"Tch." Magneto shakes his head. "Idealistic." the Mutant Master of Magnetism says, crushing the pistol beneath his powers, but does not persue the woman. Instead, he watches where she's running towards, and calls out. "Blob!"
Blob looks up. "Mrf?" Mouth full of bourbon chicken and spring rolls, he can't say much, but he sees Christina and more importantly, where she's running to. Stomp. He starts to move forward, arriving at the escalator as Christina comes racing down it, having swallowed his food finally. "Hey baby, give me a hug!"
With that, he tries to wrap his arms around the woman in a greasy, fatty, hug. Mmm, smell the chicken fat, lamb, sweat and man mold, Christina!
Magneto turns to the other mutants. "Raze the mall. Let this be a message to all that deny us of our basic principles and those that would wish to stop us in taking what is rightfully ours!"
Pyro woos! Finally, some action! Turning to a store, he strikes up his flame throwers and starts to spray them into a lingerie shop - with lots of swimsuits in the window. Swimsuits that would have really looked good on Christina.

Alicia makes decent time. Perhaps she is used to getting around via Gate by now, or maybe she's just lucky and got the right one the first try.
Alicia enters the mall, looking even more wide-eyed than usual, because there is danger around - she can feel it, even if she can't see it from the entrance she took. She heads further in, letting said feelings guide her. Also, people who maybe attempting to escape. Those are a good giveaway as to where problems are, even if all of them are taller than she is and thus block her view.
Of course, when she sees the flame, that makes it even simpler. Alicia speeds up, leaving her sword sheathed.
Rei is not always very intelligent about fine details.
Her reasoning is that if Magneto is in favor of mutants, he will not fire upon them if they are either on his side or apparently in favor of his ideals. She is, she reasons, obviously a mutant due to what are clearly genetic errors.
(Oh, irony.)
When she walks in through one of the side doors of the designated mall, she sees flamethrowers being used. This means she stops walking forwards. (She has learned that much, at least.)
Alicia hasn't learned that much, apparently.
Fire bad :(
Christina is not the right person to go to when defending a mall from super-powered people is the problem. Yes, she's had a little military combat training but military combat training is pretty much nothing compared to people that can run at supersonic speeds and create fire with their brains. The best she can really do is get out of dodge and notify the rest of the IPA to come in for backup.
As she dashes down the escalator, she finds this goal hitting a roadblock. Moments later she finds herself being smothered in MAN CLEAVAGE and, for a brief, brief moment, wishes she was dead. "Let go of me!" she shrieks, pounding her fists into the Blob's massive bulk.
Christina MacKenzie gets a glancing blow on Magneto with her DINK feint.

Amuro is even moreso not the right person to defend a mall on foot. He lacks the amount of training Christina has had, having been a last-minute conscript instead of a military academy graduate, and rarely sees combat with just a gun in his hands. And that's all he has, as he runs into the mall. A standard-issue gun in his hands.
He stops short at the flames, alongside Rei. "...Dammit," he mutters, wondering if this was such a good idea. Something in his mind tingles, but he isn't sure why.
With Alicia and Rei entering the mall, Pyro looks over from his lingerie flambe to note the two women. "Well, hello, hello, lovely birds~" the flame controller says, and then shoots flames up into the air, heat rippling the air as he exerts his own mutant power.
From within the heat of the flames, a form starts to take shape. In this case, it's a a large phoenix. "Want to touch the birdie?" the pyromaniac asks as he starts to laugh.. ending with another wet cough. "Ugh. Better hurry this up." With that, he sends the bird streaking down towards Alicia and Ayanami.
In the meantime, Blue Streak, Speeds By... oh wait, that's Quicksilver, not Sonic the Hedgehog. He races right towards Amuro, to grab his gun, and if successful, he has plans. Taking up the rifle, he'll spin it around, grin at Amuro, and punch him in the face with the butt of it before handing it back to the kid. "Hey man, nice gun, too bad you can't hit anything with it." And zoom, the speedster mutant is on his way again.
Fred is getting a boob massage and love taps from Christina in the meantime. That is, until she lays one rather viscious pop on his nose. "Ow!" he yells, and twists... tossing the girl at an Auntie Anne's pretzel kiosk as he starts to stomp after her. "I thought you liked me!" he snarls.
Magneto floats above the madness, watching his mutants at work.. and notes the newcomers. He does not move to attack, instead, concentrating on watching them at work to see what capabilities they bring - or if they are mere flatscans. This will decide on his next course of action.

"No!" Christina shouts back angrily, "I /don't/ like you! You..you're the most disgusting thing I've ever encountaaaaah!" Christina goes flying, sailing into the pretzel shop and colliding violently with their dutch ice machine. She thuds to the ground, groaning, and almsot feels inclined to hide down there. However, the godzilla-grade stomping in her direction prompts her to take action.
She forces herself to her feet and looks around frantically before grabbing ahold of a discarded mass of pretzel dough. The dough is promptly thrown at the Blob's face.
Christina MacKenzie misses Magneto with her Improvisational weapons 101 stun.
The number of times Alicia has been attacked by a flaming bird rises to two.
"Ah!" she yelps, covering her face and upper torso by crossing her arms over them; her sleeves are better able to take the heat than her face, even if it does leave her with scorched hands. They're not scorched enough to stop her from drawing her sword, a narrow and quite polished weapon that doesn't seem to have had much use. She holds it somewhat loosely, pointing forward.
"Why are you lighting the mall on fire?" she asks, rather innocently. Alicia's gaze flits up to look at the hovering Magneto briefly, than back at Pyro - in fact, she charges Pyro, using her light weapon like a rapier and thrusting forward at the mutant. She has noticed Rei, and is trying to stand between Pyro and her, in fact.
Alicia hits Magneto with her Mirage Pierce jab.

This is Rei Ayanami. She is on fire.
The 'flame phoenix' is of course somewhat less murderous than Rei might have expected. As the flame heads towards her, Rei doesn't flinch, although she does duck; the greater part of the roaring heat goes past her, as a result. However, she can feel her skin ache on the back of the neck; her hair doesn't catch fire, at least.
She doesn't seem to exercise any mutant power beyond 'running towards a store;' she does not even know which ONE. This probably helps facilitate Alicia's cunning plan to stab Pyro.
Something flashes through Amuro's mind more clearly now, as he sees a blue blur. And even though there's no way he could be reacting so quickly, not a normal human in normal circumstances, he jerks his rifle just out of the grasp of Quicksilver. Perhaps more distubingly, at least to the mutant, he turns and, briefly...
Makes eye contact as Quicky passes.
It actually takes the pilot a moment to process what has just happened, though his senses give him a hint of where the cocky speedy mutant is. And while he may not be able to hit such a fast moving target, he takes aim and fires. "FREEZE!"
Hey, he's dealt with folks who are fast, before.
Amuro Ray misses Magneto with his THREE TIMES FASTER LOL jab.
The dough flung at Blob, who catches it in one hand. "Awww, baby, you trying to feed me? That's sweet." He takes a big ole bite out of the dough then slams his foot on the ground. He slams it down so hard it cracks the tile and sends a shockwave at Christina. One that threatens to barrel her over. Better watch out over there for things like broken shops or gas mains!
Pyro blinks as one of the hottie chicks charges at him and he barely has time to squawk in panic before the sword slices through the air and catches him in the side, cutting into him. The mutant fire master hisses. "You one of them knight dames that is running all over the place? I thought King Arthur and all that were guys!" But if she wants to play like that, he can oblige.
Forming up his own flames, he musters them around him forming a large flaming shield and what appears to be a large flame hammer. "And I burn things because I can burn things, roight! I don't need some dame in a silly hat telling me otherwise!"
Quicksilver blinks at Amuro as for a moment the two seem to be at a standoff. He can't get away the rifle, and when Amuro tries to secondguess Quicksilver, the mutant adjusts accordingly. This could be a bit of a standoff. That is until Magneto announces his presence. "Enough, son. Deal with the albino." Did Magneto just call him son? Yes, yes he did.
Quicksilver looks back at Magneto for a moment, then at Amuro. "Later, loser." And with that, he zips off and tries to sonic leg sweep Rei towards the ground, "Hey, where you off to in such a hurry, didn't you know all the really big sales ended on Monday?"
Magneto floats down towards Amuro. "The Newtype. Tell me, Gundam pilot - have you considered my offer since the last time we talked? You should know that the battle you fight is a losing one. However, if you join me, there can be more than just Federation versus Zeon. More than Syndicate versus IPA. There is more to this than those simple factions. It is about our rightful place."

Alicia does not have a hat, although she does have a gold hairband.
She squeals again as the flame weapon smashes into her, and her own strike is delayed slightly by the desire to ensure that her trailing sleeves or skirts have not actually caught fire. With him tying her down (not literally), she can't go help the others. That means...
"To me!" Alicia says, reaching out to one side. A blue-spectral figure starts to appear, literally stepping out of her and rapping his staff against the ground. Once he's physically outside of Alicia, he starts to regain normal colouration; a man all in brown, carrying a carved wood staff, with a broad hat so large that it actually hides his eyes. "Go help her!" Alicia directs Mithra, pointing with her sword in Christina's direction. He nods, heading that way and raising his staff as he does. "Frigid Damsel!"
A spirit of ice wielding a broad icicle for a sword appears near Blob. She spins in the air, lashing out three times with her freezing weapon, and then vanishes in a spray of snow and freezing mist. Hopefully it is enough.
Alicia switches armor modes to Wizard.
Alicia misses Magneto with her Mithra: Frigid Damsel attack.
This is Rei Ayanami. Why is her nose bleeding? She fell down.
Rei finds herself down on the ground so suddenly that she wonders, uselessly, if time had stopped. The impact doesn't break her nose but does bruise it, along with part of her cheek; she lays on the ground after this, shivering faintly but visibly, perhaps in suppressed pain.
She hasn't broken anything yet; she starts to push herself back up. It isn't very fast; she doesn't say anything while doing so.
"...eew." Christina, for a brief moment, is compelled to make a face. It's /raw/ dough and that's /disgusting/. This doesn't stop her from climbing out of the Auntie Anne's and trying to make another getaway. Around now she becomes aware of the presence of the others, "Amuro!" she calls out-then winces, noting he's being accosted at the moment.
The shockwave catches her completely off guard, sending her flying into the Boardwalk Fries adjacent to the Auntie Anne's she was just thrown into. Silence.
When Christina emerges again, she's armed. Well, armed with a /mop/ but it's honestly the best she can do. Then she sees some sort of ice spirit coming and is /about/ to make a scene about it before she realizes it's on her side. Maybe it'll distract the Blob?
Seeing her opening, she rushes in bravely, sweeping the mop at the Blob's head. Unfortunately, she, uh, misses.
Drawing back she /does/ notice that the mop got frozen rock solid from that mist Mithra expelled when she vanished.
Christina tries to give batting Blob's head with it a second go.
Christina MacKenzie misses Magneto with her FOF CHANGE: FRIGID MOP? ..okay, maybe not but... attack.
[Citizen's Band] Magneto | Blob announces, "NOTHING STOPS THE BLOB."
Amuro managed to draw Magneto's attention away from Chris, at least. He can be thankful of that. He didn't want to know what would happen if the mutant leader found out Chris was a 'flatscan.'
"...I can't support your ideals," he insists in a clear tone up at Magneto, eyes narrowed. "I told you before. I won't accept the idea of superiority or rightful place, or anything like that! Humans fight amongst one another for enough shallow reasons as it is."
Even if it's not going to do a damn bit of good, he aims the rifle up at Magneto. "I'm not getting behind another reason!"
Blob is only vaguely aware of Mithra's assault on him. His head twists around as dude with funny pointy hat summons chick with funny hat and ice sword. It slams into his wall of fat, and as she and the sword disappear, the massive mutant snorts, "Needs cherry flavoring. Was that supposed to --" WHACK!
The mop handle smacks Blob upside the head. The fat ripples. But not much else. That large (rather small on Blob's massive body) turns back to Christina. "You like to play rough, huh?" he grins. "Good." And with that...
The massive mountain of a man, moves forward.. and simply tries to fall on top of Christina. She may have time to move. She may not. Let's hope she does, because that's a whole ton of man.
Magneto, while distracted from Christina by Amuro.. is almost equally distracted by something else. Alicia. What did she just do? That was a summoning - almost like a spirit. For some reason, it's reminscent of Thunderbolt or John Spirit, and the Mutant Master of Magnetism may have a whole new target.
Except for that rifle pointed at him. That's okay. While Amuro is aiming at Magneto, Quicksilver returns, racing by Amuro and balls up a fist. As he does so, he swings it hard at the back of Amuro's head, attempting to lay him out with the blow.
Pyro, in the meantime, moves in on Alicia, using his flames to try to surround the summoner and make things really really hot for her. "Does the pretty bird want to be extra cripsy or deep fried?" he asks with a smirk.

Alicia realizes, about now, that she has lost track of Rei.
She backs up, using her sword to fan flames away and simply darting out before the circle closes around her. "I don't," she says, not quite sure how to deal with someone who wisecracks /during/ a fight. Alicia starts to reverse, heading back toward where she last saw Rei, and tosses Pyro something small and blue as she does.
It is a gem. When it touches anything after being thrown, it explodes in a small personal blizzard, about eight feet across and filled with whipping winds and flying ice.
Mithra sees Christina go down under the Blob and raises his staff again. Strict attack spells didn't work, so... "Astral Maze!" he declares, pointing the back end at the Blob. If it works, the Blob will vanish for a few moments, teleported Elsewhere...unfortunately, it doesn't last long, so he should reappear right where he left in about ten seconds, or as close as obstacles allow. It's only to free Christina.
Alicia switches armor modes to Princess.
Alicia hits Magneto with her Ice Crystal jab.

Even better, the mop itself cracks in half, leaving Christina with nothing but a pointy mop handle in her hand. The other half goes flying and clatters across the floor several feet away.
The pilot looks up, then backs away..and keeps backing away, turning and fleeing but, unfortunately, it's not fast enough. The blob falls on her, trapping her half underneath, and pretty much crushing her legs.
Frantically, she tries to scramble free, turning and stabbing the Blob with the broken broom handle. The Lieutenant is starting to look a little frantic now.
Should the Astral Maze actually work, Christina is wasting no time and scrambling away. The most she can really do at this point is crawl as she's fairly sure getting squashed like that left her legs with broken bones.
Christina MacKenzie gets a glancing blow on Magneto with her DO NOT WANT feint.

Rei pushes herself to hands and knees, and from there, to a crouch; she doesn't stand up all the way, looking hastily around. Her tongue runs briefly out as blood runs down her lips, out of pure reflex; she makes a face at the taste.
She is probably pretty easy to spot, really.
Newtype senses do /not/ warn him of this.
Amuro cries out as he takes the head blow, stumbling as his vision briefly blacks out. He holds his head, realzing after he has regained full consciousness that he's lost track of Magneto /and/ Christina. "Ugh..." Steadying himself, he starts running towards Christina, who is facing off against the /fattest/ guy he has ever seen...
Quicksilver grins, sliding to a stop. "Your fancy schmancy psychic powers didn't see that one coming, now did it?" the speedster taunts Amuro, before noticing Alicia. And he can't help it. The teen speedster takes off, streaking by Alicia... who may feel a slight pinching sensation in an area where someone is rarely allowed to be pinched.
Pyro notices the crystal and attempts to turn his flames on it to put it out. However, he is well too late, and in the end, the massive ice blast goes off, and the mutant is knocked backwards. The flames on his body go out, leaving him steaming and smoking, and with a yelp, he's trying to find some way to heat back up and start to get his fire going again.
Magneto starts to make him move towards Alicia. "You. Who are you?" he asks the summoner, staring at her intently as he closes the distance, metal rippling and repeled from him as he advances on her.
Blob gets poked hard with the mop, just before suddenly everything gets really dark and he vanishes. To where? There's this maze. And a large red dot that says 'you are here'. Fred Dukes stands there, staring blankly at it as he realizes that he's totally lost. "AUGH! NOTHING STOPS THE BLOB." With that, he starts to run forward. He slams into a wall. Then another wall. And another, trying to force his way out of the maze. He will get out!
And when he does.. he's on the second floor. And the railing meant to keep people from jumping over the edge shreds like paper under the Blob's weight and down he goes towards the ground. Down.. down...
Impact.
It's not the Second Impact -- but it shakes the very foundation of the mall. It registers on Sesmic Meters all the way in San Diego as a 2.4 on the Richter Scale. The whole place rattles, shakes, and reverbs with the force of the Blob's one story faceplant.
Fred Duke sits up woozily. "Oof. Watch for that first step.. it's a doozie."

[Citizen's Band] Alicia says, "Are you going to keep attacking it if we do?"
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "I will leave if you tell me your name."
[Citizen's Band] Alicia says, "Alicia. It's Alicia..."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "Very well. I will call off the Brotherhood. Now depart."
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "This sounds interesting. What's goin' on here?"
[Citizen's Band] Alicia says, "...you leave first."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "You are not in a position to negotiate, Alicia."
[Citizen's Band] Alicia says, "I know."
Christina manages to pull herself herself up against a wall for support only to realize that /yes/, her legs are actually broken. She clutches the wall with all of her upper body strength and simply listens to the radio.
"I need a little help out.." she mumbles weakly.
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "Take the flatscan, and /leave/."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "We will leave afterwards. I give my word. And as Havelock can attest, I will follow it."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "And I know you are listening, Havelock."
[Citizen's Band] Jotaro Kujo says, "How old are you?"
[Citizen's Band] Havelock Vetinari says, "Yes, Erik, I'm listening."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "Good. Next time, don't send children."
[Citizen's Band] Jotaro Kujo says, "You, old man, I'm talking to you."
[Citizen's Band] Yuna says, "Is there an need for an healer to be there?"
[Citizen's Band] Alicia says, "I am a healer."
[Citizen's Band] Havelock Vetinari says, "I hardly send them all personally. And, of course, I'm given to understand that they are 'sassy teenagers.'"
[Citizen's Band] Havelock Vetinari pause. "Oh, excuse me. 'Teenagers with attitude.'"
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "Next time, they will be dead teenagers, Vetinari."
"I'm - "
Alicia has had many things happen to her since she left her manor, running away from a very angry Valkyrie.
None of them were getting goosed. She totally reflexively squeals; her voice is quite piercing. She's also turned bright red, although it is an open question whether it is from the burns or sheer mortification. She /is/ a princess. People don't do that to her! She spins about, flailing with her sword, but is far too late to actually catch Quicksilver.
The shockwave, too, keeps her quiet, because she ends up on her back, with a light fixture on top of her. It didn't seem to actually do that much injury to her, though, because she pushes it off, getting back to her feet, just a bit more painfully. She moves toward Rei, slowly, sword still out as she watches Magneto.
Mithra gets up from where /he/ was knocked over, too. He doesn't seem to have difficulty with broken limbs, but then again he is a ghost. He stays near Christina, beginning the longer healing spell as green sparks dance around him. "Let's go. I'll clear the way."
[Citizen's Band] Yuna says, "...."
[Citizen's Band] Havelock Vetinari says, "Mm."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "I have no patience for flatscans."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "However, the Newtype and Summoner interest me."
[Citizen's Band] Nono quietly, "You should stop talking like that."

[Citizen's Band] Christina MacKenzie sounds angry, "You..you /started/ this..."
Amuro's mind warns him of the shockwave. Unfortunately, there's /little he can do about it,/ and even stumbling into a doorway doesn't keep him from falling to the ground.
He staggers back up, hearing a cry for help on the radio. Magneto is pulling back, so he says. He'll trust the mutant to his word; meanwhile, he limps towards the others, in particular trying to help Christina stand back up so he can lead her out.
"Ugh...Ayanami, Alicia...are you alright...?"
[Citizen's Band] Sanger Zonvolt says, "Tch..."
[Citizen's Band] Amaterasu | Issun says, "I'll take you on, me and my trusty partner No-Metal Ammy." Awr? "Hey wh-" *GLORPH* and a muffled "-HEY!"
[Citizen's Band] Sanger Zonvolt says, "I am Sanger. Sanger Zonvolt. I am the sword that cleaves evil. There is nothing my blade cannot cut--and I will prove that magnetism is no different."
[Citizen's Band] Yuna says, "There are other summoners out there?"

Rei hears the radio tucked in her ear. She doesn't want to be healed, she thinks, even as the shuddering makes her stagger against a planter; this is harmless, in itself, if not for the sprained ankle. She leans against it, face tightening with unhidden pain.

She shakes her head once sharply and grits her teeth, waiting for one of them to come closer. Hopefully, they will be let go.
[Citizen's Band] Magneto says, "As for my age, I am old enough to have seen the coldness in the hearts of man for those that they do not accept or understand, and aged well enough to accept that destiny calls for one to make it on their own, and not to accept what is forced upon them as shackles and chains."

Christina reaches out for Mithra. If he is solid, she will grab onto him for support.
She's a tiny bit surprised as well-this is the first time she's ever actually experienced a healing spell. It feels very nice. Warily watching the Blob and the other mutants, Christina sticks close to Mithra.
[Citizen's Band] Han Su Li says, "Yeah, well, they also complete total domination and history shaped to their likes."
[Citizen's Band] Yuna suddenly. "What is wrong with magic?"
[Citizen's Band] Envy says, "Control the time stream? Are they buildin' a dam or diggin' a river?"
[Citizen's Band] Han Su Li says, "I dunno, but I suppose so."
[Citizen's Band] Crimson Dawn sounds amused. "Oh, you know. All those horrid side effects, such as disease, devastation, and death."
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "What's wrong with it? I don't like it much, that's what. Damn wizards."
As the IPA rallies to leave, Magneto holds up a hand, barring Quicksilver from continuing. "Brotherhood, they have receieved our message. We shall depart."
Blob, muttering, grabs a rack of footlong corndogs, and winks at Christina before he starts to stomp off, joining the others as they make their way out of the mall.
Christina MacKenzie looks ILL now thanks to the Blob.
[Citizen's Band] Envy says, "Magic, alchemy, technology... Same as it ever was."
[Citizen's Band] Blob, snacking on a corn dog, "Christina, baby, call me sometime. It was good for me, too."
[Citizen's Band] Christina MacKenzie says, "You stay the hell away from me."
[Citizen's Band] Envy says, "Power corrupts. Absolute power is neat. Or so the story goes."
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "Absolute power is /boring/."
Mithra is solid enough to grab. He isn't wavering; Alicia isn't very far away.
The healing spell discharges in a ring of green light around Christina. It is not a perfect healing, but it beats the heck out of nothing. "We can go now," he says, suddenly, moving toward Amuro. Once /Amuro/ has Christina, he does vanish, turning into a bluish outline before vanishing in a trail of sparkles that head straight toward Alicia, sinking into her skin.
Alicia comes closer to Rei. She offers a hand. "Are you all right?"
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "Trust me - my wife ruled the world for a while, it's no fun."
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "All peaceful an' boring an' shit."
[Citizen's Band] Yuna says, "...."
[Citizen's Band] Envy says, "She never knocked over a neighboring kingdom, just for kicks?"
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "You don't seem to understand what I mean when I say 'the world.'"
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "I mean she was ruler of the goddamn /planet/."

[RADIO] To Magneto, Yuna radios: What is your kind? That is, if you wish to tickle the curiousity of an Summoner.

[Citizen's Band] Han Su Li says, "What did you do with the world you ruled? Just...left?"

[RADIO] To Yuna, you radio: I am a Homo-Superior. Ask around, I am sure someone can explain it to you.
[RADIO] To Magneto, Yuna radios: Thank you, Sir Erik.
Amuro takes Christna from Mithra, nodding before the creature vanishes, and then beginning to limp out himself. "Lieutenant, I'm sorry I wasn't able to be more help," he sighs as he starts making his way out. He looks back to make sure Ayanami and Alicia are following; he can't help EVERYONE out at once.
[Citizen's Band] Yuna says, "Can anyone tell me what is an Homo-Superior?"
[Citizen's Band] Envy says, "..."
The parking lot in front of the mall has cleared out by now, though it is not completely barren. Legs, sometimes, are more efficient than cars for the purposes of fleeing.
There is some movement, however. An old, beat up Honda cruises through the lot, looking for a close parking spot. Eventually, it accelerates, takes a hard corner, and spins into an unoccupied handicap spot. Out steps a teenager who, after inspecting the mall with a nonplussed look on his face, shoves his hands into his pockets and walks towards the entrance just as everyone starts walking out. Presumably he encounters Amuro and company first because Magneto made a deal of waiting for them to leave.
"What are you doing?" Jotaro asks, his tone verging on accusatory.
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "That'd be a high-ranking gay man."
[Citizen's Band] Yuna says, "Eh? Really?"
[Citizen's Band] Roy Fokker says, "And that, Yuna, would be an idiot."
[Citizen's Band] Roy Fokker says, "... I think I heard of one of those in a comic book."
[Citizen's Band] Yuna says, "Comic book?"
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak says, "Hey, we ain't biased. You've never punned, then?"
[Citizen's Band] Han Su Li says, "Hahahah."
[Citizen's Band] Magneto sighs. Because orcs are dumb. "A mutant."
[Citizen's Band] Han Su Li says, "--Wait, Homo Superior?"
[Citizen's Band] Han Su Li says, "I thought that was the name of a crazy cyborg in 2050."
[Citizen's Band] General Ashnak isn't all that dumb, but he's also not really engaged by the conversation. "Eh, some people have no sense of humor."
[Citizen's Band] Yuna says, "Mutants? I have heard of them."
Christina happy to lean on Amuro now. "You tried..that counts I suppose."
Though in Christina's mind, she can't really see how this encounter could have ended up any better. Jotaro just gets a silent stare from the woman.
[Citizen's Band] Han Su Li blandly. "What's the big deal about mutants?"
Rei takes Alicia's hand without looking up. Her breathing is heavier than usual. She thinks, perhaps, that she cracked a rib - she isn't sure. "I will recover," she answers, before stepping, gingerly, away from the planter.
She lifts her head when Jotaro speaks up. She has blood caking the lower half of her face which is now starting to dry unpleasantly. Her nose is still bleeding.
"There was an attack," she says; it may be too quiet to hear.
