WHO: Haman Karn, Baron Ashura(NPCed by me.)
WHEN: Sunday, November 5th
WHERE: Asteroid Axis, somewhere in the Gundam Plane.
WHAT: Ashura and Haman Karn have a talk about recent developments.
WATCH FOR: Evil laughter, Doctor Hell having a sick sense of humor, and adorable little Mirabi Zabi.
The asteroid superfortress and head of the exiled remnants of Zeon, Axis hangs in space like a malignant tumor, festering with dark ambition and vicious intent. The fleet of ships constantly swarming about it like angry bees keep anyone from getting too close who does not have the proper clearance. Each ships is loaded with squadrons of Mobile Suits, ready to form a swarm of destruction at the slightest provocation. Slowly, the massive asteroid moves through space, propelled by the massive nuclear pulse engines mounted to the giant chunk of cosmic rock. It has to keep on the move to hide it's location from IPA forces lest they come under siege for their previous actions.
Deep inside the nigh impenetrable rock sits a city and in the heart of that city sits Haman Karn, Regent of Axis, caretaker of the heir to Zeon, Mineba Zabi and military commander of both the Axis forces and the Syndicate's mecha force, the Divine Crusaders. Currently, the Regent sits in ready room, reading over reports from the last week and planning her next move.
And in the halls of Axis, something terrible walks by.
Half man, half woman, and the worst of each, Baron Ashura, Doctor Hell's lieutenant, general, and all around goon, glides down the halls of the fortress-asteroid, flanked by four heavily armed members of the Iron Mask Brigade. The Baron simply walks past any troops, not really acknowledging anyone unless someone tries to stop them, or until they arrive in Haman Karn's throne room.
They're only humans, after all.
The doors to the throne room open, but instead of Haman Karn sitting upon the throne there is a girl, a child really, with wide, innocent blue eyes and short, closely cropped red hair. Standing behind her is Haman Karn, alerted to the presence of a Syndicate member and delegate from the terrorist known as Doctor Hell. Haman steps forward. "Mieba Zabi, heir to the throne of Zeon welcomes you into her august presence Baron Ashura." The woman even bows politely, playing her role as spokeswoman for the child Queen to the hilt. "Before you speak with the Heir directly, she would like to inquire as to the purpose of your visit."
The Baron looks mildly unimpressed at the show, though the four Iron Maskers genuflect quickly, shouting, "USS!" in unison as a show of respect for their Syndicate allies.
"The indominatable Doctor Hell..." The female side of the face begins,
"...appreciates the heir and the Regent taking time out of their busy schedules..." The male side adds in, leering a little at Haman.
Both speak in unison, then, "...to hear his humble message. He wishes to inform Neo Zeon and its Divine Crusaders of an opportunity that has arisen."
Haman Karn raises an eyebrow and steps away from the throne, the young girl seated within leaning forward and smiling softly. "We welcome you to Axis, Baron Ashura." Her small, childish voice seems somehow odd speaking such formal words and so easily to the bizarre figure of the half-man/half-woman before her. "What opportunity do you speak of?"
Haman Karn rests her hands on the back of the throne, listening intently, her face a mask of casual interest though her eyes betray a fierce, predatory mind behind that countenance.
The stitched-together duo smile, a little, perhaps reveling in the slight discomfort Karn may or may not feel about having something like /them/ so near her puppet. "It is safe to assume you read the news reports last evening?" Both voices ask, because, well, its logical. That many Black Sheep in an incident like that? Duh. "Ferror P4 was, of course, defeated..."
The female half's eyes brighten, as that manic smirk twists a little higher. "...as we had planned it! For our true intention was not to attempt the destruction of the Black Sheep Squadron, or even Evangelion Unit-01, with one mechanical beast..."
The male half looks a little cocky, crossing his arms over their chest and smirking sinisterly, "...Doctor Hell is far more forward thinking that that, of course. He realizes that many of the pilots's emotional states are the source of their power, you see. Kabuto's fighting spirit is as much of a problem as the /Mazinger Z/..."
Both Barons take a moment to compose themselves, because they hate Koji that damn much. In tandem, "So the solution was simple. Reverse it-make the ones who draw power from their confidence desperate, and those that draw power from desperation confidant. Ferror P4's attacks contained a special nanovirus, which has accomplished this very feat!"
The child ruler of Zeon looks confused, the words meaning very little to her. She is only a child after all and talk of fighting spirits, nanoviruses and such things only leave her puzzled.
Haman Karn on the other hand begins to smile. She waves a hand and one of the nursemaids comes forward, ushering Mineba off the throne and out of the room but not before Haman pats her on the head. Once they are gone, Haman breaks into a huge, malicious grin and stalks forward.
"Then you are telling me," she almost cackles, all pretense of being a mere servant gone from her voice, "That for the moment the Black Sheep are in utter chaos? They are confused and weakened? If this is so then I must commend you and your Master for the sheer brilliance, the audacity, the cunning and foresight of this most inventive plan!"
"Yep!" Baron Ashura says, pulling on the lapels of their robe and looking a little cocky about it.
"The problem is, of course..." The male half says, looking a little sheepish,
"...if we use enough mechanical beasts to properly test how the Sheep have been affected..." The female half continues, pouting juuuust a little.
"We won't have the resources to figure out how, exactly, the Black Sheep have been weakened, /and/ take advantage of it!" Both mournfully conclude. The girl half sniffles, just a little, and both continue, "...but then, Doctor Hell recalled his allies, you see..."
Haman Karn slides into the throne, seating herself and crossing her legs. A chuckle escapes her. "Then worry not. The Divine Crusaders will attack the Black Sheep while they are weakened. It's the perfect opportunity to crush them," as she says this, she closes her open hand into a fist, "while Doctor Hell presses his advantage. The Divine Crusaders have more then enough resources to test just how weakened our mutual foes are, to show them that they are not the invincible force they foolishly believe themselves to be."
Sitting up straight, she grins like the devil herself. "We will swarm down upon them and destroy them, humbling their forces and scattering their ideals to the cold vacuum of space!" Then, she tosses back her head and for the first time in ages, laughs the laugh of the truly mad, the truly evil, those consumed by hatred and passion.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Well, that was easy, the minions of Doctor Hell think. The boss might not even set us on fire this time!
And Baron Ashura was never one to turn down an evil laugh, so, "HAHAHAHA-" "-OHHOHOHO-" "HUUHUUHUUHUUHUUHUUHUUHUUHUU!" rings out in /three/ different voices, as, somehow, space itself finds some thunder to CRASH in the background!
Haman Karn stops laughing long enough to ask one important question. "Before I send my forces into battle I must know, is this disease contagious? Are my forces in danger of contamination?"
"It shouldn't..." The female voice begins,
"...be a problem." The male voice concludes, smirking a little. Why?
Because Doctor Hell has a sick sense of humor, that's why.
Haman Karn rises from her borrowed throne and heads for the door. "Then allow Doctor Hell to know that soon enough the strength of his disease will be tested in battle. The Divine Crusaders are moving out!" With that, she leaves, allowing the guards to escort Baron Ashura off of Axis.
