Super Robot Chart Prototype

Sep 12, 2006 00:29

It's not complete yet, I'm waiting on pictures from some and just haven't entered others in yet. However, a good number have been placed now, and I decided to produce a preliminary version of what I have thus far. Here's what we've got!

Warning: bigger old screen-stretcher! )

I can't find a good picture, but according to Kiva in the DMV ep (the one where Megas gets towed), Megas XLR is 80 feet tall. I'm sure someone can wrangle up a good picture of it.

There might be some confusion somewhere, as the smaller mechs are labelled in meters, and I'm pretty sure Mazinger Z and the UC Mobile Suits are around 60 feet/18 meters each, and not 60 meters, as indicated. But I think they look right-sized in comparison to the others, just not the right label.

Also, hahaha, Puny Human.

Actually, I think the scale's just calibrated in feet. Mazinger Z is listed as being 59.04'/18m, that is, 59.04 feet/18 meters.

This is correct. Look on the far left there: all of the labels on the various measure lines are in feet. Mazinger Z is just under the 60' line.

...D'oh. I just now now noticed that. I originally misread it as being something like 59.04718 meters or something. Well, this clears that up!

I will try to get that Reijitron picture tonight. I could provide images of the Invaders all day but there's really no HEIGHT scale for them that's ever provided, unfortunately...even with Reiji's eviltron the closest I can provide is a picture that has Reiji standing next to it.

What I did to extrapolate a height for Big O was take an image with somebody with an easily estimatable height (say, human man Roger Smith) right up against the robot, where the height could be identified with a specific part of the robot (in this case, Roger Smith was about as tall as Big O's face, minus red helmet-cap). Then I found a picture of the entire robot and went calculating how many times that reference part of the robot (Big O's face) went into the whole of the robot's height. Finally, multiply that by the guesstimated height of the original reference figure.

Yeah. I seem to recall it's a little inconsistent, but...well, that is what reminding people that it is made of evil is for, I suppose.

I'll take a shot at it tonight. I think it's somewhere between Arbalest and the Gundams, anyway, but that's not exactly a small range.

...heck, we should add the Gunbuster onto this just to see if anyone can top it.

Height is listed at 200m.

Man, I'm not upping the scale from 70m to 200m for one robot. Especially since it will render everything of Mazinger Z's size and lower little more than specks.

Well, you could go with the classic Daitarn 3 perspective.

ANKLES!

We could put the Bridge of the SDF-1 next to it.. The Gunbuster /might/ be as tall as that part. XD

You will FEAR the squished and distorted mech. It is terrifying in its...uh, flexibility.

(Actually I kind of like it)
