A repost of a modded post
As some of you know, I now save my posts on my harddrive, I'm going to put up a post that got modded the other night for those who havn't seen it (mostly for VB)
No one's been shy about how we feel about our respective enemy, both sides generalize. Frankly I've never seen any of you criticize Weir, you deify her and act like she's the best thing since sliced bread! Maybe both sides are guilty of that, I don't know, but I know we've never insulted Weir like you have Teyla. Your side seems to exist for the exaltation of Weir, and act like if you insult and degrade the other characters that will somehow raise her higher on the pedestal you have set up for her. Even Sheppard has not been immune from the attacks, you cry out about him being childish, and make cases of how he's not worthy of her. It seems to never stop! Weir is an imperfect character written as a perfect character. A bad leader surrounded by equally incompetent buffoons. There are frankly two characters that haven't shown impaired judgment this and last season, those are Teyla and Zelenka, and frankly, that's probably only because they haven't gotten enough screen time for the writers to frak them up yet. Yes, Teyla wears clothing that would be considered skimpy by our prudish society occasionally, for this I blame TPTB, not the character. Unless you have a magical device that allows you to see into a character’s mind you cannot know her motivation. Maybe it's cold on Athos? Maybe it's a ceremonial robe for a people in exile. Frankly, she's wearing what she wears because the writers wrote her that way. Just as Elizabeth's decision to keep Michael, or even allow a live wraith to be kept in Atlantis was caused by the writers. If you're going to b**** about our criticisms then I'm going to b**** about yours.
Yes we've complained about oppression, because we see it every time one side goes over the edge. We get edited to placate you. It's always about keeping the S/Wers happy. Keeping the firecracker away from the napalm so to speak. You are the larger threat, so we are marginalized, and pushed aside, and modded into oblivion.
So, in conclusion, I don't hate Weir, I've never hated Weir, I am however strongly bias against her because of her fans. (and this is really only half of her fandom, most of the Wow threaders I harbor no malice toward) I don't want to associate with people as vicious as you have become, so if I have something nice to say, I’ll clam up. Frankly the S/Wers scare me with their fanaticism, I'll admit the S/Ters, myself mostly, have been fighting with the zeal of a cornered animal. Because we had to. It's the only way to keep the behemoth from pushing us out of this board. We will not budge, we will not yield, and this post will be modded extensively. Frankly, I just don't give a frak anymore.
