so... things were going well, which means we have to have a fork thrown into the spokes.

i've had discomfort the last few days with my back molar, the fake tooth where i had a root canal performed. that was about a year ago that the procedure was done. two days ago the pain became almost unbearable. last night i was woken up at 2am with excrutiating pain. i couldn't find any vicodin, so i took one of trev's tylenol 3s and put an ice pack on my face and laid in bed until 05:30 when trev had to be up. laid in bed further until 08:00 when i called the dentist's office.

the office about 2 miles from me was 'said to be' closed (found out later it wasn't). drove to westheimer and dunvale (about 9 miles away--no freeway) and saw a different dentist. he confirmed the root canal had become infected. the infection is below the tooth in the mandible. he wrote me scripts for a strong antibiotic and vicodin. since the dentist who performed the operation is responsible, i have an appt with him monday at 10:30. i have to get through the weekend to figure out what he's going to do. the only logical step, from what the other dentist said, is to remove the false tooth, do another root canal, make sure everything is removed, then replace the fake tooth. ouch. being that i'm self-employed and don't have insurance, i'm trusting that this is all going to be covered by the dentist, as it was his fubar to why i am in this predicament.

... things could be worse. i keep telling myself that. things could be worse.

through the pain and suffering, i was able to go on two service calls today. despite the discomfort, you can't take the geek out of me. the moment i got home, i put an ice pack on my jaw and laid down. stayed in bed for a long while, then ate some soup and watched the movie, "Saw." i highly recommend this movie to EVERYONE! it is a suspense thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat!
