So, I decided to get into all my feels about the Walking Dead Season Three Premier. I think a story told in gifs is probably the best way to handle this since I am pretty sure I can't even talk about it yet. The gifs are pretty self explanatory anyway. *Snerk*
Me through the whole year long hiatus: Seriously, a year has never gone by so freakin' slow. I'm I right?!
Me when my mister told me the episode had finally finished loading: Seriously, I was in the bathroom washing my face when he yelled. I nearly bowled him over in the hallway. He gave me an affronted look but I was like: OUTTA MY WAY BLATCHES. THIS IS MY SHIT.
Five Seconds in: My brain was basically like, hold on tight - 3, 2, 1... BLAST OFF.
Then.. my lady boner abrupty deflates: WALKER EYEBALL. HOLY JEEBUS. - Bricks were shat and etc.
Then: BAM. T-dog being badass. With an arrow... I think. The camera was on him for like...many seconds. I feel like this was his action moment...His time to shine. And really, he totally delivered.
First look at Daryl after a year of waiting: WHY HELLO THERE. GET IN MY LIFE RIGHT NOW YOU DELICIOUSLY HANDSOME JERK.
Then there is Carl with the head shots and the grown up basassery: WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?! - Also, you look like an adorable muppet with that shaggy hair you cute little thing you.
Then: An OWL. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Look at the cuteness! Is Daryl going to tame it and-OH GOD WHY.
Then: Lori appears. Heavily pregnant. Wow, she looks like she hates life...and Rick. STILL.
Then: DOG FOOD. Jesus. They all look so hungry and broken...Christ. - And the look on the others faces as Carl is just like: 'whatever I'm hungry.' I am pretty sure they are all thinking, how did it come to this?! - I felt this was really real and emotive in terms of survival. All the feels on this one. The winter must not have been kind for the group.
Daryl's flinch when Rick threw the can: Oh bebe....
Then: When they only got like 3 minutes of sitting down in that house before they had to leave: OH MY BEBES....... - I thought what was so impactful about this opening scene was the lack of conversation, everything was represented by the lack of talking, facial and body expressions, and their actions. Things are not going well and everyone is suffering for it. - Excellent acting by ALL in this scene!
When I realize it's been like five minutes and I miss Dale already: HAVE ALL MY CRIES. For I have too many and am currently drowning.
The opening credits roll: Seriously, I was grooving.
When I realized they'd just skipped through an entire winter: I am looking forward to the flashbacks. Just sayin. Given where they left off last season, skipping ahead makes sense but yeah, I hope we get flashbacks of what has happened in the meantime, I mean we obviously have to because of well...Andrea and Michonne so...hmmm. - Back to watching.
My reaction when Rick puts Carl on point guard as they stop on the road and figure out what the hell they are going to do: Oh, so Carl is responsible now? After like a year of being a little shit he gets a gun and job? I am not sure how I feel about this. Maybe Dale's death due to Carl being a dink is still a bit raw for me or something but yeah... Kid, unless you were a model child during the winter I really don't think you deserve it. - However, that being said, maybe the responsibility will do him some good. Perhaps giving him shit to do and not coddling him will do wonders for his development. ...Either way at least Rick appears to be trying.
Daryl's one liner to Rick: "While the others wash their panties, lets go hunt." - If I wasn't already in love with Daryl I would be again. Game, set, match. - I love how it is apperent how over the winter their dynamic has seriously changed, Daryl is Rick's right hand man, and they are both comfortable with that relationship. And on a whole Daryl seems to be fully intregrated into the group again. He isn't seperating himself or anything which is a blessing to see. = FAMILY FEELS.
First view of the prison: In retrospect I am totally almost-kinda a mind reader. RIP ZOMBIES. (And Hershel's leg.)
First ten minutes: Everyone is still alive and has all their limbs and various extremities. I am taking this as a good sign for what is to come.
As Rick is running through the prison yard to close the gate and uses a silencer: Yes, this. I think I mentioned this like 50 billion times in the last two seasons that they needed some sort of silencer. Home made even. It would solve like, 50% of their problems concerning noise and attracting walkers.
My thoughts on Rick's mad dash across the prison yard: It really felt like this was it. He had to do something to improve group morale, give everyone time to rest and recoup. To be honest, it was one hell of a risk, but hey, they were desperate and when you are literally looking at the reward, a safe, defensible place I am sure it was hard to resist.
Daryl's first featured zombie kill of the episode: Awwwwwwwwwwwwww yeah! - He totally saves the boss.
At Carol and her capable, yet subtle badassery: You go girl, you just keep on doing your thang. - I am loving her new found confidence. She is like, 'lets get this done bitches. I am no longer a background character, let Lori do that shit now, I am going to rock out in this red tank top and be gorgeous.' - Also: Her cute little 'sorry' at nearly shooting Rick? So effin' cute. I aint even mad.
Then: Daryl's: "Light it up!" - AKA: Begin the Walker massacre: I'm jelly! - Things are looking up! - And Rick's cute little huff of laughter when it goes off with a hitch? Golden.
The group celebration when they'd cleaned the yard of walkers: There is so much love there. Hershel touched Daryl, Daryl did not kill him. Daryl TOUCHED Lori, the world did not end. - This entire scene was huge. T-dogs: "Whoooo!" Carol's cheesing on the space. Lori actually smiled. OH GOD THE FEELS. It really shows that they have all become a family in a way, bonding in spite of their hardships and differences and growing to rely on one another in a big way. Even Daryl has clearly come out of his shell a bit. Remember season one? You couldn't get 5 meters close to him before he was basically yelling for an adult. Oh bebe, show me all the people that have hurt you in your life and I will kill them. - I am pretty sure I will be thinking about those 5 second touches for far longer than I should. Ah well, no regrets!
I welcome discussion, rants, queries, and etc on this, lets discuss! What did you think of the episode?
PART 2 - COMING SOON.
