So, I wasn't sure if/when I was ever gonna put anything on my LJ about this whole thing with Pendant, mainly because I've kind of hashed it over a LOT in multiple forums. It really just boils down to this for me, and this is typically my train of thought every day ( Read more... )

It finally came down to a couple of things in the last 24 hours or so for me:

First, realizing that I've been wrestling with depression for the last few days (so, Ever Since) -- please bear in mind that I wrestle with depression a substantial amount of my life, but... I think it's not hard to connect dots here. I wasn't taking it quite as in stride as I thought. The cancellation, actually, I've handled fine, but the removal of the history... I think I'm going to be processing that for a while.

That said, it's pretty obvious to everyone I'm doing that by working, as now basically everyone has yelled at me at least once for bugging them about future scheduling, outstanding scripts, that sort of thing -- I jumped back on that horse about 15 minutes after reading the first email notice. :P

Anyway, second, I think many of us realized that the only way back to sanity was to start planning what we were going to do next. Of course, you already have Genesis Avalon which as you point out is now over 25% of our current output (because Seminar isn't monthly) so, yeah. 100% of our superhero shows now. Anyway. So I've spent the last 24 hours or so hammering mentally at that and today it started to really all come together and now I have something to be excited about, even if it's in the highly hypothetical stage still (I've been asked for a full outline for a set number of episodes as this is a feature run, which is probably how I'll work from here on out, and I'll be working on building my off the cuff thumbnail outline into that ASAP.) And... I've never had a completed work that was really mine. BTTF (not that it ever was completed completed, but the scripts were), Green Arrow, Wonder Woman... yeah. So this is pretty heady stuff. And that helps.

Wow, I kind of wrote my own LJ post here as a comment.

But it's like you say... now's the time to get excited about our own creations, and that's pretty damn cool. Sure wish it could've happened in a different way, but... forward!

P.S. I am sad that I don't get to play That One Guy in the fan show omniguy was about to start. I wonder what his orientation would've been! (Oh, what a giveaway...)
