The Wizard of Oz in HD

I missed the theatrical release the other night (there were only two showings) because I got my days mixed up. They're only releasing the HD version on Blu-Ray as far as I know. Hubby did get his hands on the Blu-Ray version (he's sneaky like that) and we watched some of it last night.

WOW!

The colors are unbelievable, especially in Munchkinland. They even added in some textures. Dorothy's dress is really wrinkled. Tin Man has more dents and rust on him. The Scarecrow has more of a cloth-like appearance on his face. The Cowardly Lion's fur is more detailed. The Witch is really GREEN! And her Winkie guards are green with some blue shading around their mouths.

The Tin Man is very shinning once he's all cleaned up. ;)

On the way to do battle with the Witch, they're also carrying a few more weapons with them. The Scarecrow has a gun, the Tin Man has a wrench along with this axe, and the Cowardly Lion is carrying a giant fogger that says 'Witch Remover'.

We didn't make it past the Witch melting. We do want to watch the whole thing again, because there are all these little things that they did to enhance the color. Dorothy's shoes are really sparkly and the star on Glinda's wand has different color jewels in it.
