Well, due to RL issues, I've not been on my computer much and I saw
this announcement in my RSS feed this morning.
And I have a feeling it's all over my flist...
Honestly, I'll miss David, but this is part of being a Whovian. I wish David all the best and I'm actually looking forward to the next Doctor. Change is good. Change is needed sometimes.
And I know some on my flist may want to throw tomatoes at me for what I'm about to say but, I hope, I HOPE this puts to rest any "doe eyes of love" from companions for the rest of the series. So, here's my wish list: I want to see strong female and male companions who don't all of a sudden fall head over heels for the Doctor and become possessive, whiny and immature (I'm glaring at RTD for making me dislike Rose after S1 and ruining Martha). I don't mind it in fanfiction, I just really don't like it on this show, it tends to cause divisions in the fandom.
I don't want the Doctor pining away for lost companions or incredibly emo. I want to see the Doctor acting like Doctors Four, Five, Eight and Seven again (sorry, I don't like Six).
I want the Doctor to find Romana!!!
*off to do some more housework because the appraiser will be coming to the house Saturday*
Not a spoiler since David Tennant made the announcement on national TV in the UK and the BBC has it plastered all over the place and it's in the title of the article, plus a video of the news. If the BBC wanted to keep this a secret they wouldn't have let David announce it.
