Man, am I tired.  Standardized testing is totally taking it out of me.  I left early today to come home and take a nap, even after leaving early yesterday for my ultrasound!  Listen, why does no one tell you how much that sucker is gonna hurt?  Seriously.  Baby is definitely Will's and my child.  Like his daddy, he doesn't want his picture taken.  And like his mommy, he's pretty stinking stubborn when it comes to doing anything.  It took the technician almost thirty minutes to get him to turn around so she could see his face.  Thirty minutes of her taking that probe and pushing HARD up and down on my stomach.  Several times Will had to come over and start massaging my head/shoulders to keep my mind off of what she was doing.  I'm surprised I didn't bruise, and I still hurt more than 24 hours later.

But baby is beautiful.  It was not as clear as I expected it to be, so that was a little disappointing.  We spent a good bit of time squinting and trying to work out what was what, but finally things started to clear up.  He (still using the general "he" since we did NOT find out the sex) has ten fingers, and what looked like ten toes.  (She said it was still early to be able to tell on the toes.)  The arms and legs were the same length as the other, meaning he won't be stumpy or whatever.  She showed us the blood flow into and out of the heart, which was really cool.  She showed us the stomach, which was odd, but still kinda cool.  The coolest thing to me was looking at the spine.  It's really amazing.  Finally, after a half-hour of prodding, the baby rolled over for about a minute so we could see his face.  It didn't look very clear to me, but the technician was able to tell that there was no cleft lip, which was mainly all she needed to know.  I'll try to post pictures later on this week.

In other news, my sister-in-law is ready to pop.  She's not due for 19 more days, but she's already dialating, and her last one came a week early.  Since we're the closest to the hospital, we get Madison when she goes into labor.  We're getting excited!

I have four more days left on my maternity leave subbing, and it honestly cannot come soon enough.  I'm wiped.  I love the kids and all, but they are seriously taking it out of me.  My feet have started hurting a lot.  I don't see any swelling, but I'm doing my best to stay off of them when I can.  Which, for anyone who's ever spent any time in a classroom, you know that's not very often.  Especially during standardized testing.  I used to have to bring a note from my doctor which required me to sit for 15-30 seconds every 15 minutes before I was allowed to even think about sitting while the kids were testing.  They don't play when it comes to that testing.  We're supposed to walk around and monitor all the time.

This weekend is going to be crazy.  I actually get Friday night off - thank goodness.  Saturday morning we're getting up, driving down to Troy (technically Little Oak, which is about 15-20 minutes out of the way), and doing the Easter picnic with my family.  It starts at noon, but since Will and I will probably have to leave early, I want to get there a little early.  I was hoping this year we would have enough little ones to get to do an Easter egg hunt, but it's still up in the air as to whether Madison will be there, what with her mom and that might-be-in-labor thing.  Anyway, we leave from there and drive another couple of hours to Will's parents' house, unload, and turn around and head to Sneads.  It's his mother's 50th birthday, and we need to help his sister decorate.  She rented out a local place and is throwing a huuuuge party.  Everyone's invited.  So the party Saturday night, then church at one of the two (depending on which side of the family we visit) local churches for Easter, then (I'm guessing) big family dinner.  I haven't heard that for certain, but, knowing his family, it will likely happen.  Then back to Auburn, and starting the work week all over again.  My pregnant self is tired already!
