DOCTOR WHO
I'm still not too sure about exactly what I feel about it yet. I haven't quite processed things at this point. But I will be rewatching 4x08, 4x09, 5x04, 5x05, 5x11, 5x12, 5x13, 6x01, 6x02, and 6x07 in order to reevaluate the relationships River Song has with other people. Then I'll reevaluate things. I'll also probably come up with a never ending list of questions that should hopefully be answered in the second half of the season.
LABYRINTH
I've recently rediscovered my appreciation for this movie. While my bestie decided that it was creepy (primarily the whole Jareth/Sarah thing) I don't actually think it was. And I've been reading a tad bit too much fanfiction.
THE MARVEL MOVIE UNIVERSE (including Thor, Iron Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Elektra, Daredevil, Ghost Rider, Avengers, Hulk, etc.)
THOR: OMG. I loved, loved, loved this movie. Absolutely adored it. Thor was so adorable and made me melt any time he started smiling. When Darcy was like "Smile crazy!" I was...giggly. And I was sitting next to my dad in the theater. Darcy was such a Kat Dennings role and I loved her. Jane was an interesting character. I appreciated that she was working on a hard science and even though my bestie did not like how she got giggly at Thor...I liked it. But whatever. I really loved the movie.
GHOST RIDER: If you see this movie with the expectation that it is firmly a B movie at best, it really isn't that bad. I actually partially enjoyed it.
GAME OF THRONES
I've heard a lot of good things about this show and midwifeonboard recommended it as well so I'll be checking this out soon hopefully.
MERLIN
Now I have a generally bad relationship with the BBC and their even numbered seasons (cases in point: Robin Hood Season 2, Doctor Who Season 2, Doctor Who Season 4, Doctor Who Season 6 where they keep fake killing Rory) but I'm on Season 2 right now and I actually find it's okay. My few problems are that
a.) It's Giles. How am I supposed to take Giles seriously as the King of England?
b.) Eve Myles was in the first episode yet Garerth, Naoko, and Burn have yet to show up.
c.) Mordred is not ... right? And he's scary as heck.
d.) It doesn't stay true to the myths and legends that I've heard
e.) Sam Neil's not in it.
f.) Gwen's black.
Now I have no problem with people who are not as freakishly pale as I am. But, historically speaking, that would never, ever have happened. They've done it before on Robin Hood amongst other historical inaccuracies (such as Marian performing Tai Chi before it was invented and guyliner) and I know it shouldn't bother me because I'm also all about equality for all races on TV. But this is a historical show. And since when has Guenevere ever been a servant? Oh well. I mostly ignore it actually, but it sits in the back of my mind and whispers at me.
THE LOST WORLD
The TV show, mind you, not the movies. I love this show so much. I have this epic fic in my head for the continuation of the show after its untimely cancellation...never going to write it most likely but it's long. The show is up on veoh.com in its entirety thanks to some lovely soul and I frequently go back and rewatch my favorite episodes. I love the characters (less so for Ned and Veronica Season 1) and the storylines and the dinosaurs and everything. But my favorite part, by far, other than Roxton and Marguerite's courting dance throughout the three seasons, is that the writers of the show wrote a freaking letter to the fans about what was going to happen in Season 4. I love that I know what was going to happen to Roxton and Marguerite and Summerlee and Veronica and Ned and Challenger and Finn. I love that I know what they were going to do with the stories and the characters. Man, it's just great.
The show really is great. It wouldn't last on today's lineup and would probably get cancelled halfway through the season but that doesn't make it any less awesome. If I could find some stinking screencaps I would make icons of it but the DVDs are out of my budget.
Another thing that's great is that these are people who are trapped in this dinosaur infested world and the Wardrobe Department without fail keeps on putting them in the same clothes. Roxton is still wearing that hideously striped shirt in Season 3 that he was wearing in Season 1. Marguerite has 1 skirt and 1 pair of pants and three shirts. Veronica is the only person who has costume changes because she as a character makes her own clothes. It's something little that always makes me happy when I see Marguerite's wearing her purple shirt or Roxton's wearing the hideous shirt of evil.
