YOG - Post 29 - Genius with OCs
Original characters sometimes get a bad rap in fandom, because there are so many ways they can be misused.
Done right, however, OCs give us new perspectives, new insights, and make the worlds we adore much, much richer.
Just last night shaenie and fiercelydreamed gave us Five people who the press won't care about when the Stargate Program goes public (and the reasons why the Atlantis expedition wouldn't have made it without them)
House fandom has many "almost OCs": characters who are mentioned in canon but never shown, leaving fanfic writers to explore them. Wilson wives #1 and #3 (plus Bonnie) are part of the Party Line by nightdog_writes, as House calls them during his investigation in "Frozen," ep. 3-11.
