first post in months and it's short AND boring
-sitting on Magazine St. in New Orleans, enjoying espresso and waiting for Syd to get done with her massage.
-in case you didn't see my other post, Syd and I got engaged on Friday. With the help of her sister and many many other people, I tricked her into going to lunch at a particular restaurant, where 20 of our friends and family were waiting, as was i, with the ring.
-after she calmed down from that shock, i hit her with the news that she wasn't going back to work (what sort of bitch would i be if i proposed and then made her go back to work?!?), that she and i were headed to New Orleans for 4 days. of course, she almost died.
-many cups of coffee, parking meters, and pool towels later, we're on our last bit of time here before we head back home. i got her a gift certificate to a spa here, but we didn't check to see when they were open (so many places here are closed on Mondays, c'est ridicule), so she was forced to get a massage at 9am today, right before we go to the airport. oh well!
