(no subject)
The classes are moving right along. Im actually pretty happy with my schedule. Two days out of the four that I'm in class I actually am done with everything by 2:15 in the afternoon, which leaves the majority of the afternoon/night to do my own thing and relax. Most of my classes are alright, although none are truly tech related for the remainder of my senior year, with the exception of Systems Engineering.
As far as life in general, things are going pretty well. This past Sunday, before I was getting ready to leave for work. Ryan called me from Best Buy in Warwick where he works and told me to run down there and compete in a Wii tennis tournament they had going on there. Curious as to what I could win, I drove to Warwick before I headed off to work. There were literally only like 3 teams or so that signed up. Most of the other teams consisted of Father and Daughter teams with the daughters trying to coach their dad's into playing a Wii. We had some close calls, but ended up smoking everyone and getting first place. So we got a free DS Lite out of the win, along with a nifty little Wiimote keychain. Hell, I would never buy a DS..but free, why the hell not?
I was talking to Justin, a friend of mine that works in Geek Squad at wing night on Monday. He recently got an internship hookup with Verisign, pretty much the leader in securing internet transactions among other things. They have a division right up the road on 95. From what he explained, it sounds really nice and I would love to get into that sort of thing. Apparently the hours are pretty open and the building is open 24 hours. He said that his boss told him that anytime he wants to learn something, to come in and work on something. A work atmosphere like thatt sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe I'll get in touch with them, see what I can work for next Tri or the spring time.
Haven't decided if Im going to cave in tonight and get Team Fortress 2. Ryan and B-Roy have been pressuring me. I just seem to lose appeal in most of Valve's games after a few weeks or so. Meh.
