Tourists and Killer Bees

During the morning briefing, that amazingly enough happened this morning, we were talking about the dating situation in NE Montana. As an aside, a recently retired friend lived here for nine years without finding anyone to date -- but, that might be a personality issue more than an availability issue. One of the other single guys in the office has been here for many years with few dating opportunities. Is it trend, or personality?

With the direction of the conversation, I got to use my joke, originally told to me by my mother, in reference to Olympia, Wa. (although last time I checked, it is definitely not true about Olympia, Wa.)

So, what do you call an attractive, unattached woman in Glasgow?

A tourist.

Everyone got a chuckle out of that. Humorous, and more factually accurate than is comfortable. With a bit over three more years to go before the earliest date I could leave, I'm not particularly comforted. Then again, I have a whole wall full of dvds, and a room full of books. I'll get by. ;)

Now, where do the killer bees in the Subject: line come from? I have a theory that I'm more likely to be fatally attacked my a mutant swarm of killer bees than I am to know an unattached, attractive American born woman that would move to NE Montana for "love". The best part is I have the next three years to evaluate my theory! Happy, happy, joy, joy! It's probably time to start rewatching the X-Files from Season One...
