oh dear... broke up from college on friday and went out to celebrate at the buttermarket. However we didn't get there cause we got beaten up... We went to the Ramna for an indian which was lovely (by we i mean me, vicky and aaron) then we went off towards the quarry to kill some time. We were by the river and had been joined by some random guy called Tim when some chav girls asked us if we had any fags so we said no we don't smoke and they didn't believe us for some reason. Then one of them said i had long hair (well duh!) so i just carried on talking to the other guys when they suddenly decided I'd said something. They came over and started pushing me so i pushed back, then one of them pushed vicky so i hit her square in the face which is when it got a bit blurry. I just remember hitting them and kicking one in the face and some lads joined in with them. The lads had vicky on the floor so i went after them then aaron pulled vicky out of the way and they all started laying into me. Then they stopped (I think vicky shouted something like "stopppp it!!!") And i started walking off, vicky was all hysterical cause it turned out i had blood pouring down my face from some cuts on my forehead and aaron was feeling guilty cause he hadn't actually helped much (that tim lad buggered off straight away). But yeah we met two police women who calmed us down and called some backup, turned out the chavs had nicked vicky's camera but she knew one of them so hopefully i can press charges. So in the end the police took us on a (very half-hearted) chase after the villains then back to the station where they took a few details then ran me up to the hospital where it turned out i didn't need anything doing to me so we just went home. So i had a bath then went to bed feeling a little defeated...

But next day we got up at 8 and my dad drove me and vicky off to Oxford for Truckfest (no actually trucks, its called that cause the bands used to play on the back of a truck). It was the loveliest little festival i've ever been to, it felt more like a summer fete than a rock festival. First band we caught were the mystery jets who were quite good, only caught the end of their set though. Then were Cherubs from Norway who were really good, then we went over to the barn stage (was which actually just in a barn) to watch Battle who were just bloc party all over again just a bit better. Then we went to the acoustic tent and caught Dave House who was lovely, really nice stuff then we sort of watched Patrick Wolf on the main stage who was good, folky sorta stuff. Then we caught some of Editors in the barn again but we left early and got some food (feta cheese and tomato pasta with a bananasmoothie prepared by the local rotary club) then got some sweeties from the sweet stall (50p for an ice cream, bargain!) then went to watch The Young Knives who were ace but not as ace as 65 days of static who played after them <3<3<3, we were on the front row and it was maaagical. Then we rushed out to the main stage to catch Mc Lars midway through Mr Raven and he did a really good set (new stuff sounds ace) Then the raveonettes briefly bored us and biffy came up next. They were alright, not up to usual standards but okay, i was so tired though, when we got back to the tent i just went to sleep even though vicky wanted to go out partying so she got all pissy with me. Got up next morning to the sounds of the dreadful didcot battle of the bands winners and it was raining. We had cookies for breakfast then made our way to the barn as thankfully most of the bands we were watching were indoors today. We saw Mondo Cada (pretty lame), Blood Roses (dreary), Mesaplex (ex-meanwhile back in communist russia, good but a bit repetitive), Trademark (good, electro-pop) then Hondo Maclean (finally! too much new stuff though which isn't as good), then Winnebago Deal (good but a bit samey, black flag cover though!) then the black madonnas came on and i went to sit down but actually fell asleep (very NAUGHTY of me..) while they were on and had to be woken up in time for Reuben, who were good but didn't play too many good songs (no freddy kruger???) then we ran off to get more food and we met frank from million dead and had a lil chat, first time vicky had spoke to him since the bar academy incident... Then after the towers of london had finished we went and watched YCNI:M who were awesome then vicky went to watch Do me bad things (...) and i stayed to watch siKTh but they didn't actually turn up so i went to watch This Ain't Vegas and vicky met me by the toilets on the way. TAV were good and we had a little chat with the guy from YCNI:M with his crazy glasses. Then we saw 65 days and begged them to play somewhere in the west mids (february! yes!) and finished off the night by watching Forward Russia! slightly disappointing though, bad setlist methinks. Then at about 8 we started putting our tent down and met with Ash and Jenna who were giving us a lift back home. Journey home was pretty uneventful, just fell asleep on a pillow until telford, i got out at vicky's house and her parents had a look at my wounds then took me home, where i got into my bed and fell asleep listening to And you will know us by the trail of dead. Now i need to get a job.
