::looks back at past few weeks::

I've been Cain.

" Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord. But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering He did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.
Then the Lord said to Cain, 'Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it.'" (Genesis 4:2b-7)

These past few weeks, I've been stressed, irritable, and sometimes angry. And I haven't been acting with love. And it's all because I've been Cain. Cain offered to God, but what he gave was just a mediocre offering. He did not choose the best he had to give, just whatever might appease God.

So that's not fair. God didn't say to us "I want to hold on to your eternal life, salvation, and the love I have for you. So sit down, I'll give you some food, at least that way you won't be hungry."

God said "I'll give you my best sacrifice, my Son, to the end that you will be with me in Heaven forever. My love will pour out over you, and we will be together."

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
-John 3:16

I should be as Abel.

"For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." Phillippians 1:21

"For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ." Phillippians 3:20
