Getting to Prince

Jun 10, 2004 07:14

ok so more about getting to the prince show.

First off since Monday we have gotten over 8 inches of rain in the Austin area. 'Dis is crazie!
Tuesday night I won tickets to the Prince concert in San Antonio at the SBC center. Tickets said event at 7:30 and it is about an hour and 15 minute drive to get down there. I was fine with leaving around 6 to avoid some traffic. But it was lightly raining for most of the day until around 5pm then it just started pouring down..
and poured for a few hours, and the main heavy storms
(on the tv radar they were purple cells... so in escense it was... ehh hem... "purple rain") were along the freeway fromn Austin to San Antonio, then add the traffic and we decided to wait a bit. Due to the really heave storms we almost said "forget about it" but the heavy storms disipated around 7:30 so we split on down the road. It was still raining pretty good but not super heavy...

So we make it to San Antone and to the SBC Center and parking is $10. we have maybe 87 cents in change and that is all the cash we have. So down the road to find an ATM... and there is nothing around... we end up going down this road that is totally and utterly fucked up... i mean it was the most torn up pot hole ridden rode i think I have ever been down in a big city. and we find an HEB (grocery store) and hit the atm then head back down the crappy road. and when we are about 100 yards from the entrance we have to stop because there is atrain on the tracks blocking us... and... it....... is....... slow......... ing.... down....... and......
STOPs!

MFSOB!!!

train not moving at all...

so after a few minutes of total frustration we decide to find a way around. fun times... or was it a sign of the times... heh heh
we made it.. yada yada yada he played purple rain and we left... lol
no we caught a little over an hour of the show (5 or 6 songs then the encore, another 3 songs) Prince kicks ass

drive home there was no rain.

about a mile away from our house we saw a Silver Air stream in tow... and noticed it had a Simple Life Banner on it. If I would have been driving we would have turned around atleast to see if Paris or Nicole were actually driving it... err or driving the car towing it. But it was late and I wasn't driving and Emily wouldn't turn around
so come to find out the Simple Life ain't so Simple after all...

but it is fun.

wow what a ramble on this is.. so condensed version.
purple rain made for a long drive and late arival. all along there were signs influincing our timing. saw an hour of the show, and saw a simple life trailer around home.

sheesh... done and stuff
