Jobless in Seattle... umm I mean Austin
I am sitting here beside myself wondering what to do...
They have been laying off people at the place I work.. err or worked. It has been happening for months.. in little bunches, ever since another company bought us out. I knew it was coming soon, but our department was safe unless they decided to just not honor any of the contracts they had with clients.
and they finally did it... no severence package either.. but atleast they are going to pay me the 2 pay checks I have coming still, and have worked for... and 50 some odd hours of vacation that I never took...
I was about to take a few weeks off to to go to Europe with a group of friends in November... I haven't bought my ticket yet and now that I have the time to go I might not have the money... sheesh ain't that a bitch!!!
but I sooo want to go and it will only cost 460 for round trip tickets to Paris... then train it on down to amsterdam after a few days in paris... then probably to Munich...
ohh wait... this was a post about my joblessness... I will rant on europe later
This job was ok... they payed me to pretty much do nothing... well I monitored clients networks and such and answered clients calls, and made tickets and such... but most of the time just chatted online and watched movies and played SxC...
I had crappy shifts sun, mon and tues I went in from 4pm till midnight. Then on Weds and Thurs night I went in from 11:30pm till 7:30am then had friday night and sat off... I can do nights no problem, the hard part was moving from evenings to nights every damn week.... then try to get on a normal schedule again then boom back to nights...
but ohh the free time at work... lol
well that is enough for now I guess...
