Honestly, I've scaled my playing well back and largely only do so when I know something is going on. For that, I check the forums.
One of the problems that's always been prevalent in ALL MMO's is that things are scheduled to find a time when it's convienent for the majority of folks. If people aren't talking and finding out who's going to be on when, then coordination isn't going to happen.
It takes some give, you know. Everyone - and I mean everyone - has things going on now. Without some method of out-of-game communication (like the forums for both CoM and HSR where everyone's pretty much signed up at...) where schedules are made, it's not happening for anyone. Not just you, but those with "10 level 43214342534093754039274692450 anythings" as well.
Case in point: Juno is coming back. He told us when, and I've made it a point to schedule my homework time so I can be around when he shows up. Sentherene also lets us know when she'll be around ahead of time, and Dentul, Kiesh and I play with her. We know to schedule that time to "hang out."
But if people don't use the forums, or let us know when they're coming on, and just pop on and off at random... What can you do?
Kind of goes back to the post you made about "the Simple Life:
I don't read the forums because I have no idea what people are talking about on them and, mainly, because it is hard to see. I will have to figure out out to make the browser display the page in white with black text.
Also, I don't want to have to ask people to make time to play with me. Feels like I am begging for friendship. They have their own thing going on and I an ok with that.
Besides, when do I have time to read or play? I am working 60 hours a week. I would love to do so in my spare moments, but the site isn't WAP enabled for me to read it on my PDA.
You should be able to change the default style of the forums from your profile page. It's not working, but hopefully Elizium will get a chance to look at it and figure out why not...
As for "I don't want to have to ask people to make time to play with me." - all I have to say on that is this:
What do you think asking people to make time to come see a movie with you, or come to a club with you, or have a cookout with you is? It's people who enjoy each other's company making plans to spend time together. Who cares if it's a virtual world, and we're hundreds of miles away? The concept is the same. There is no "begging" in saying "hey, I'll be around x time, you free?" and trying to work out schedules.
That's why I linked your earlier post. You had excellent points in saying that people needed schedules to get a chance to do things together, and that it was only polite to try to HAVE a schedule. 'S all I'm saying.

Kind of goes back to the post you made about "the Simple Life:
No personal plans had to be altered.
No household bills had to be knocked out of the way for a month to afford the event.
No one was because they planned ahead and avoided rushing.
Baby-sitters were found if necessary.
Beer was cold.
Mary's Cookies were fresh!
The Simple Life.
So, use the forums, let us know when you'll be on, let's see if we can't schedule something, eh?
