Fanarts
Well, since I got the go-ahead, I figured I would go ahead and post some fanart I've done from various Nix stories, primarily the Abhorsen books and some Keys to the Kingdom. I won't post all my sketches at once, but just a few at a time to spread them out. Not sure when I'll get inspired to draw them again.
For this entry I think I'll stick to Abhorsen things.
My first Abhorsen fanart was of Mogget, done in Illustrator, actually. Kinna old, 2006. Just so everyone knows, I tend to do more cartoony/stylistic stuff than realistic images. I'm studying animation, and would like to focus on character design.
I know Mogget's eyeballs aren't black, but I felt it made him more supernatural. Plust I see him sort of being some almost lineless, fluid creature, some hint to his actual characteristics.
Sameth! Ye shall also find that I draw more from the two sequel books than from Sabriel. This is because another, better artist I love has sketched out designs for Sabriel and Touchstone and them already and I'd be intimidated to do my own doodles.
Anyway, yay Sameth! He was a bit of a brat, but he developed. He's got a rod and is going to get fishies for Mogget. Mogget loves fishies.
Lirael in the library about to deal with some monster thing. I really like this sketch; might hafta clean it up a bit. Tried to make her very willowy and thin to play up her meekness. Though she doesn't look very meek with a sword resting across her shoulder....
Colored Sam! I do color very rarely (just not patient enough, mostly), and I never seem to color the same way twice. Ish frustrating. Either way, here be Sam concocting that fly-catching frog he made for his mom. This was the piece I did for Fanart100 with the prompt "Shapes," since he's pulling Charter marks from the air and stuff. They're all made up, of course.
That's it for now! Those are really the only Abhorsen-related ones I like so far, but there will certainly be more since I chose it for Fanart100. XD My other sketches are Keys to the Kingdom related, but there are more of those I'd like to show. But later! >____>
