Чем полезны войны и эпидемии? Казалось бы, сама постановка такого вопроса кощунственна - ничего себе польза, там люди гибнут! Да, гибнут, и это очень печально. Но погибнут не все (и при чуме и холере такого не было, чтоб все) а вот что полезного извлекут для себя из всего этого оставшиеся, благо их теперь будет подавляющее большинство? Опыт жизни по другому. В другом экономическом режиме, когда экономика работает на пониженных оборотах и дай бог сделать людям нужное, никаких глупых излишеств. Без туфты на бирже, зато с реальными ценностями. С медициной, призванной работать и спасать, а не приносить доходы частным лицам. С реальной помощью пострадавшим, зато без глупых (особенно спортивных) толковищ, выносящих мозги и отвлекающих от возможности о чем-нибудь с пользою подумать. С реальным взглядом на мир безо всяких иллюзий.
Все это дают войны и эпидемии тем, кто сумеет их пережить. И нынешнее испытание без этого не пройдет. И когда люди снова смогут жить нормально. опыт, полученный в лихие времена, знания, усвоенные в тяжелое время - все это может очень сильно оздоровить и современную экономику, и медицину, и многое другое. Беды мучат, да уму учат.
Так будем же учиться, это всегда полезно. Пройдет вся эта дрянь - глядишь, заживем поприличней...

How useful are wars and epidemics? It would seem that the very formulation of such a question is blasphemous - wow, it’s good, people die there! Yes, they perish, and it is very sad. But not everyone will die (and in the presence of the plague and cholera this was not so that everyone would), but what will the rest benefit from for themselves from all this, will there be an overwhelming majority of them now? The experience of life is different. In another economic regime, when the economy operates at reduced speeds and God forbid to do what people need, no stupid excesses. Without bullshit on the exchange, but with real values. With medicine designed to work and save, rather than generate revenue for private individuals. With real help to the victims, but without stupid (especially sports) explanations that endure brains and distract from the possibility of something useful to think about. With a real world view without any illusions.
All this gives war and epidemics to those who manage to survive them. And the current test will not pass without this. And when people can live normally again. experience gained in hard times, knowledge learned in hard times - all this can greatly improve the modern economy, medicine, and much more. Troubles torment, but they teach the mind.
So let’s learn, it’s always useful. All this rubbish will pass - you look, we will live more decent ...
