In which Michael reviews "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"

I finally convinced my father to allow us to see a movie. My brother wanted to see War of the Worlds, of course, but I managed to convince him to see this instead.

First, the plot (As if you don't know it). Willy Wonka, the reclusive owner of the largest chocolate factory in the world, decides one day to allow five children to enter his factory. Among them is Charlie Bucket, who's just lucky to be there among the other...rather odd children.

I loved this movie. Apparently, Roald Dahl was so dissappointed with the original movie that he refused to sell the rights to his sequel. But I'm sure he would have loved this. The factory is so...Tim Burton. It's magical. Johnny Depp was perfect as Wonka. Pasty face, extravagent clothing, perfectly formed hair (Does anyone else draw the connection to Mr. Jackson?). Freddie Highmore was great as Charlie. The Oompa Loompa songs were hilarious. Everything was hilarious. The audience laughed out loud at least once every three minutes.

Best Quote...ever:

"Everything in this room is eatable. Even I'm eatable. But that is called cannibalism, my dear children, and is, in fact, frowned upon in most societies." - Willy Wonka

Overall, I'd have to say a 9/10.
