WisCon, Tumblr
WisCon starts on Friday! For the two people reading this to whom I haven't babbled about WisCon before... or convinced to come to WisCon... or originally met at WisCon... let me tell you about WisCon! It's a long-running (this is it's 37th year!) sci-fi/fantasy convention with feminist and left-leaning ideals. Although it's more of a literary convention, and boasts awesome authors, editors, and publishers as guests (check out this list of past Guests of Honor) there's always a lot of programming about movies and television and comics, too. Honestly, it's probably my favorite annual event. Or at least tied with Halloween.
This year I haven't signed up for any panels, but tons of them look super interesting so I'm looking forward to listening to the discussions.
In other news I am finally seriously considering getting a tumblr. I don't know if Yahoo's acquisition of tumblr will change the site at all, but if I can put up with all the fuckery that LJ has gone through over the years, I can deal with it on tumblr. Unfortunately 'garrideb' is already taken, so I might have to dig back into my older internet handles. Autumnburn? Almond_mocha_morning?
