Get Your Words Out: yearlong word-count challenge

I signed up for this comm this time last year:

GetYourWordsOut: One Last Time (Probably)!
Pledges & Requirements | GYWO.net

Basically, you pledge to write a certain number of words in the coming year, between 150k and 500k, and you check in every month with your word count. You get a rather nifty spreadsheet for keeping track, if you like that kind of thing (which I do ;) ) There are also all sorts of short-term challenges and speed-writing wars - I didn't go in for any of that myself, but I thought some of you guys might be interested.

The lowest word count you can aim for is 150k, but they won't throw you out if you don't make it. I knew I wouldn't, but I was pretty happy to pass 100k on the 31st of December. I didn't think I'd make that either, so yay!

Sign-up deadline is the 20th of January, 2013.

Also, because I like spreadsheets and piecharts and all that kind of stuff, I couldn't resist making these.

Words per fandom in 2012:

It would be interesting to see whether that matched up with a piechart of what I've been reading, but I'm not so geeky that I've kept track of word counts for that...

Words per month in 2012:

To be honest, my word-count explosion in December was as much due to feeling inspired and being on holidays as to feeling motivated by the approaching end-of-year deadline, but I recommend the technique of having one all the same!
