AUTHOR'S NOTES: I'm so glad you guys weren't turned off by the last chapter! I really appreciate the feedback-- every comment makes me do a little chair dance, I swear. ^__^ So, here's Chapter 6 with the promised ritual. I hope it doesn't disappoint! Not much else to say, save that I always appreciate you taking the time to read and comment. And I

And the device... it sounds very much like some form of alien technology, very strange. Something Wei probably doesn't truly understand but has learned how to use, or at least learned some of the things it can do, much as Suzie did with the glove - that was an interesting comparison to make. The way you link things in the present to events in the past adds tremendous depths to the story.... And have I told you recently how much I love this? Because it really is among the best stories I've ever read, and I don't just mean in fanfiction. I can hardly wait for the next chapter, I just hope I'll have time to read it right away instead of waiting. I've been itching to read these two chapters since they were posted, but everything else kept getting in the way. Magnificent.

*blushes* I'm particularly pleased to hear that, because it's always a talent I've envied in other writers. When I read Stephen King's Dark Tower novels, the Wastelands, Hambry, the Calla... they all seem to have a real geography to them, as if I could step right in. I'm really touched that you feel the same about the little world I have here. Thank you. Really, thank you.
love that Jack finds Ianto's body both beautiful and terrible and that he apologizes for stripping him in front of a stranger.
I thought that would really be the worst part, because Jack is a very sensual person, and so many of his memories and connections center around touch. In this case, it's working against him. And, even though he was the one who coaxed Ianto out of his shell a little, I think he knows how deeply private Ianto is.
Suzie and her glove have always fascinated me, so I'm glad the comparison worked. And, in regards to the past-present link... I think that's one of the best things about about the Doctor Who Verse. There is a hidden sense of destiny and purpose, even though it doesn't always work out the way they want it to. (I am, of course, excepting COE here, because nothing about that felt right to me. *sniffles*)
Again, thank you for all your kind words. I can't tell you how wonderful they are to me!
