I was trying to hold off posting this until I'd finished more of it (I'm in the middle of Chapter Two right now), because the only thing I need less than another WIP is a full-scale zombie invasion. ^_~ But, I'm afraid that if I don't post this, I'll second guess myself to death and never get anywhere. Eeeee! I'm so glad you like it. I hope the truth unveiled, after all the hints, isn't disappointing. I couldn't help but think, especially after Jordan got started on Promise City, that the walled cities he talked about seeing while 'dead' might be a consequence of his own actions. Self-fulfilling prophecy, maybe.

I liked the implications of what has happened, even though it gives me chills. I like your Maia and your Kyle. This was an excellent chapter and I hope you update soon.

Yeah, this is not really a happy story. *sweatdrop* I'm glad you liked it, though, despite the chills. I've even more glad to hear that Maia and Kyle worked for you. Maia was especially difficult because, while we're already seeing hints of the man Kyle is going to be, Maia still has some formative years left.

I really hope you're planning to continue this story. It's so rare to find a meaty story in the 4400 fandom and especially one that focuses on the Kyle/Shawn dynamic. The descriptions and words are seamless and I really want to know what happened to Shawn. Please write more soon.

*_* Love this story. I'm still in denial about the show not coming back for a 5th season and this really hit the spot. I've always been a big fan of the Kyle/Shawn relationship (be they friends or more ^_^) and your characterization of Maia was really good, as well. Hope you write more!

This is incredible! I can't find ANY Kyle/Shawn anywhere and it makes me die inside, but this has given me hope. Incredibly well-written and beautifully layered. Any chance you'll continue soon?
