For a fic whose warning included angstiiiing(!), I found it be angst-lite, especially by the standards of angst to which I hold you. XD
That being said, I really love competitive kames. James says that he wants to knock the smirk off of Kendall's face, yet doesn't realize that: a) he just wants Kendall's attention, and b) he's the one that keeps Kendall smirking.
Kendall is desperate for it now, begging, asking James to go faster and harder and please. And James does, because he wants to give Kendall everything he wants, but at the same time he won’t go too hard or too fast. He won’t let this turn into something that could be misconstrued as a casual rough fuck. This would have to be my favorite part because I am such a girl and a sucker for anything having to do with feelings. That's where it leads. James wants Kendall to know that this means something to him, something other than bragging rights about "winning". And Kendall comprehends that, responding with:“Missed this. Missed you.”

Nonono, the angsting was my own. Lol, I had a hissy fit about this fic. And Whisper, tbh. Writing them at the same time was impossible, especially when they were diverging from the same theme.
