Wherin We Are Lazy, Bad People

So, mom and I are watching the weather channel in her room, on her bed as the thunder/lighting/rain outside creates a cacophony of frightening proportions. My aunt calls and tells us to get to the basement pronto.

Me: Tornado warning...let's see...Jackson, Howell, well...that's not too close. And it's over at six forty five, it's already six thirty six.
Mom: It says it's getting to Asbury Park at six forty.
Me: That's really close.
Mom: Maybe we should get to the basement. -thunder crashes-
Me: ...-shifts closer-
Mom: ...I'm comfy.
Me: Me too.
Mom: And look, it says in case of tornado, you should lie on a flat surface. We're lying flat.
Me: But not in the basement. And we're near windows. And we're supposed to put something over our heads.
Mom:...Pass me a pillow.
