Noooo, I am sick and coughing. I need to stop that, now. Also, I have way too much TV to catch up on, waiting for me on my DVR and I just can't gather time/interest/will power. It's like all I want to do is watch iCarly and Degrassi reruns. I want to marathon Degrassi forever. The only new things I bother with are Pretty Little Liars and Drop Dead Diva, neither of which are shows I completely approve of, but both of which I am sorely addicted to.
I feel like the dads on PLL basically send the message that you can walk out/cheat on your family and get a happy ending. Which might be true, but I don't think that's the kind of message you should be sending to teenage girls- it makes me angry for two reasons. One- it's not always true, karmic retribution is a bitch. Two- just no. I want to see cheating assholes punished. Maybe because I know one or two or three or four and was one at one point in my life, but I find that shit therapeutic.
So I mention being sick, right? I like, od-ed on Nyquil last night and when I dragged myself out of bed this afternoon my mom was nice enough to make me coffee. After I begged So then I took a glass out of the cupboard and poured coffee in it and my mom goes, what are you doing? Confused, I look down, and realize I just poured steaming hot coffee into an actual fucking glass instead of a mug. I'm lucky it didn't shatter all over the counter.
I am, I am going to update fic. Really, I am. It's been kind of a hectic week. I got to go to the beach yesterday though, which rocked toe socks- I'm such a closeted beach bunny it's ridic. Like, I've been living all hermit-esque, and the second I breathe salt water and get a hint of a tan I turn into this absolute happy, bouncy creature that is totally the opposite of my dark and twisty Jersey demeanor. I revert to Californian. Speaking of dark and twisty, my mom totally called me vicious this afternoon- but then she claimed that she was positive I get it from her and my aunt (which is true, but it's the first time I've heard them say it out loud. SO. Proof). This may or may not be because I'm a horrible person and for my relatives' fortieth anniversary everyone wants to get ruby-themed presents. So I suggested we dig up grandma (she's named Ruby). I blame Nyquil. Anyway, they were mocking one of their coworkers for wearing a bikini when she really, really should not have been.
Don't come to Jersey, people. It is a state full of mean.
Kaboom fireworks today were awwwwwesome. But so short. Now I'm going to have to find good ones to go to tomorrow, because the Kaboom ones are always impossible to beat. Plus we had a roped off section by the marina, which meant no five year olds standing on the fence and blocking my view like last year.
