I love finale season. Okay, actually, I hate it. I don't deal well with cliff hangers. They inspire violence in me. Something about patience and not possessing much of it.
I think it's separation anxiety.
Ahem. So let's talk about the shows I've been watching this year. Grey's Anatomy, of course. Fringe. Merlin. V. Gossip Girl. Melrose Place. House. Doctor Who. And a bunch of others, really, but I don't have much to say about them. I'm aware that some of these haven't actually had season finales yet- or in the case of Merlin, I haven't watched it yet because I'm trying to watch the episodes with my mother, aka on my TV and not over the internets.
Grey's Anatomy. Oh, Grey's Anatomy. I have doubted you, and for that, I am sorry. You annoyed me with your killing of George O'Malley, whom I loved so very much. You tricked me with your over-promoting of Izzy, who was an epically fail character- I mean she was okay, but as soon as Katherine Heigl got her first movie deal you could tell her heart ceased being in the show. And then you kind of made me bored with your lesbians taking over the main romance plotline. Oh, and Owen/Christina, but we don't count them. Because Owen only lives for me as Poseidon in Percy Jackson, and even then he doesn't really fit the bill. And the putting of McDreamy and Meredith on the back burner. That hurt, Grey's. It really did. I thought, when I saw your teaser for the finale that you and I were going to have to have words if you killed Deth and made the show Lexi's Anatomy, which I've been waiting for. I LOATHE Lexiepedia. She's squeaky and All-American, much like Izzy, and I dislike her.
But then the finale began. And there was a bullet in a certain doctor's head within two minutes. Although I liked that certain doctor and wish you'd killed off a different, obnoxious Mercy West intern, but I digress. Teh bullet in teh head. It was poetry in motion. I laughed so hard, harder than I've laughed in ages. My mother gave me a rather curious, slightly frightened look; the same one she gives me when I illustrate the finer points of serial killer avoidance. It continued, and there was more laughter and more joy. And so what I have to say is thank you, Grey's Anatomy. That was two hours (well, an hour and something-ish) of fine enjoyment.
Fringe. I actually don't really have much to say about the Fringe finale. It was lovely, I enjoyed it. Joshua Jackson is pretty. Um...yeah.
Merlin. Oh, Merlin. You've got to love a fandom where the word 'debauch' is used regularly. Although I still hold that South Park writers are better at all things writing wise. I guess that's not much of a commentary on Merlin, hmmm? Well- Bradley James is the white version of my boyfriend's best friend Sidh. Which is why I like to stare at Sidh. A lot.
V. I'm not sure if what I'm watching is the finale- I don't think it is, but I'm confused. What I really have to say here is....Val has a cylon baby. Seriously, this show is beginning to look eerily like BSG, but not as pretty. WHERE'S STARBUCK? TELL ME, REPTILIAN CYLONS. Also, I feel like Lisa/Joshua fic is something that should exist, but I could never write it, because I have trouble trying to put myself in Sadie's (Lisa- she was Sadie on Instant Star, and still a bitch) shoes.
Gossip Girl. Chuck, I fear this is the end for us. If you end up not on the show, I will never speak to you again. If you end up not with Blair, I will never speak to you again. Leighton Meester, rectify this. And...well, I don't actually care about any of the other characters, although I fear Chace Crawford is still trying to infect me with his prettiness, even though I'm resisting.
Melrose Place. I wish they didn't cancel you. It saddens me. And oh look, there was a commercial for the Grey's finale on the DVR'd ep of V that I'm watching, and it was all slow motion, like those CSI commercials a while back. Way to steal things, Disney. Way to steal things.
House. All I have to say here is that Cuddy better not impede on my House/Wilson screen time, because Wilson's ex wife certainly has, and also, if this makes the drama go away, I'll be sad.
Doctor Who. The new Doctor has me confuzzled. I can't figure out whether I really love him or really dislike him. I'm leaning toward like, but at the same time, I just loved Ten better.
