Resume and Revive ~ Art Post & General Goodness
First of all, Wednesday = awesome sauce day, because So You Think You Can Dance comes on, and apparently CTV is airing it this season (or maybe they always have, and I just never knew). Yay, I can watch the American version of the best show ever! Yay, you guys don't have to hear me complain about missing the American version of the best show ever anymore!
It's a win-win situation, you see :3
Also, Arashi's 26th single (Ashita no Kioku / Crazy Moon ~Kimi wa Muteki~) came out today! \(^o^)/ I waited until today to watch the PVs (some kind soul uploaded the DVD rips this morning) and it was definitely worth the wait. I loved the visual cocepts in Ashita no Kioku--exactly as the title's says, "tomorrow's memories"--with its use of cameras capturing the future, and the huge collage at the end. I heard the song in full today for the first time as well, and the lyrics are very well-written. I think it's the first time I've heard lyrics like this in an Arashi song since Aozora Pedal, and it's a nice change from the usual.
Crazy Moon, of course, had the cool dancing going for it. Arashi's honestly gotten a lot better at dancing in my opinion *bricked*. They're so much more in sync now, and hitting the beats really nicely. Also, 90's rock/pop dancing for the win. (Is there some kind of trend going on in Johnny's right now with going back to older style though? Because I recall watching NewS's Koi no ABO PV a while ago and they had the whole disco thing going on.) Plus, as a personal note, the stylist somehow managed to make Aiba-chan look good in magenta--bonus points.
...Now I want to go watch them both again.
I'm hoping my CDs get here soon, because the scans look really pretty. Should be early next week, if the postal system's nice to me.
In other news, I got artwork done today:
Tools: Photoshop 7.0 & my lovely tablet
Time: 9 hours (give or take)
Notes: Commissioned by Keyoshi Storm on Gaia. It's been so long since I touched pen to tablet I was honestly worried about what might come out (^^"). I ended up doing most of the final colouring in one sitting this afternoon...5 hours and 4 albums worth of music later, came this. Man, I had way too much fun drawing her body art...but the fuzzy antennae-things and the lace killed me. I tried a dozen brushes to get the laces right and in the end still had to go draw in some (o.o). Fail, Photoshop.
Speaking of art: silverkitsune89 and x5yn4k4x, you guys should be receiving the actual paper versions of your art soon. If you don't within the next two weeks or so, do let me know so I can direct you to the appropriate people to annoy :D
The rest of you...I'm still working on it, I promise.
I should probably go stretch before my body freezes in front of the computer...
